Viking Venus

From 1st January 2020 we no longer offer cruises with Viking. If you are looking for a similar ocean cruise experience to fantastic destinations with inspiring excursions we recommend checking out Regent Seven Seas Cruises. If you’re after specifically adult-only ships, meanwhile, we suggest Saga Ocean Cruises.

Debuting in 2021 to join the rest of Viking Cruises' luxurious ocean fleet, Viking Venus boasts all the amenities, furnishing and destinations that make her sister ships so popular.

Harnessing the Scandinavian spirit of exploration and innovation, aboard Venus it’s possible to take in the Northern Lights and discover ancient Troy all the while enjoying modern, affordable luxury in true hygge style. With a focus on destinations and excursions inspired by the historic Scandinavian seafarers and traders of old, Viking Venus hosts not only Northern Europe cruises and to the British Isles but also makes seasonal forays on Mediterranean cruises to explore such delights as Athens and Istanbul.

As an adult-only cruise ship and relatively small in size in comparison to most modern cruise vessels, Viking Venus has plenty of quiet space to enjoy the finer things in life while aboard. Take in a show at the theatre or one of the two cinemas or head to the Torshavn Piano Bar for some more intimate entertainment as you mix and mingle. Alternately, head to the Explorers Lounge at the front of the ship to take in the views behind the two-storey Panoramic windows.

Spa and Fitness

After exploring one of the world’s best destinations or relaxing during a seaday, there’s plenty of options when it comes to unwinding aboard Venus. Take in the views and breathe in the fresh ocean air at the outdoor gum with some yoga, take a splash in the pool with its retractable roof or soak in the hot tubs. In addition, as you sail out of port, take in the scenery from the rear of the ship in the amazing infinity pool.

If trying to keep your fitness up at sea, head to the promenade for a bracing walk (four laps equals a mile!) and the outdoor sports deck. Alternatively, head to the indoor fitness centre for classes and to maintain your own health regime. Finally, for those looking to truly get pampered Scandinavian style, head to the spa for the saunas or book a treatment such as a massage.

As well as a dip in the outdoor pool (complete with retractable roof) this area is the real social centre of the ship during the day. Here you can sunbathe in the lanai area, sip a cocktail from the pool bar, tuck into a burger from the grill and watch special events on the big screen above. If you’re looking for a quitter spot though, head to the Winter Garden. Inside you’ll also find plenty of shops for souvenirs and essential items. However, Venus does not have an onboard casino.
