In the pursuit of new destinations, Azamara Cruises aptly named their third cruise ship Azamara Pursuit. Previously P&O Cruises’ Adonia, Azamara Pursuit offers guests an intimate and luxurious small-ship cruising experience.

After extensive renovations Azamara Pursuit sails in the Azamara fleet alongside sister ships Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest, offering cruises with the ambiance of a boutique hotel at sea. Those cruising with Azamara Pursuit can stay longer and experience more through immersive itineraries that feature longer time in port and more overnight stays. When it comes to the destinations, extraordinary adventures await guests on Azamara Pursuit with fifteen amazing maiden port calls on the itineraries, including Antofagasta (Chile) and Lima (Peru).

Following a busy day exploring, Azamara’s signature staterooms and suites offer guests new and improved luxury accommodation with sumptuous interiors and amenities, meaning a comfortable night’s sleep is always a guarantee.

Ship Facilities

Dining onboard is delicious, leading guests to embark on a culinary journey like never before, from tantalising Italian cuisine to perfectly-cooked, succulent steaks and accompanying fine wines.

The main dining venue is The Discoveries Restaurant, where a wide variety of international cuisine is served at breakfast, lunch and dinner. With a regularly-changing menu, friendly wait staff and fine decor, diners certainly won't grow tired of enjoying their meals here.

Guests who do feel like trying something different, however, have the option of dining in a few other restaurants. Included in the cruise fare is the Windows Cafe, for more a more casual, buffet-style experience, and The Patio, for poolside dishes such as burgers, wings and fries, and the likes of steak, salmon and ribs in the evenings.

Alternatively, there are two supplementary speciality restaurants onboard. Prime C is an elegant steakhouse serving not only steak but also vegetarian options and fish dishes, or there is the Aqualina Restaurant where guests can treat themselves to a hearty Italian meal of four courses.

The main feature of entertainment onboard Azamara Pursuit are the two nightly showtimes in the Cabaret Lounge. For other live performances, there is a resident pianist in The Den throughout the evening and DJs who turn up the heat in the Living Room after 10pm.

Meanwhile, the ship’s bars and lounges make ideal places to meet up with newfound friends.

  • Spirits- a large bar serving drinks all day, it also hosts singalongs at night and even trivia.
  • Pool Bar- serving up drinks into the late evening to be enjoyed next to the pool.
  • Living Room- themed nights, live DJs and a large dance floor make this the place to be after dinner onboard the ship.
  • Prime C Bar- especially lively before dinner, head here for a quick tipple before you sit down for your meal.

Spa and Fitness

The gym and fitness facilities ensure that all who enter will return home feeling invigorated with the help of state-of-the-art equipment, including weights, treadmills and bikes. There is also a menu of exercise classes to take part in, as well as a jogging track on the top deck.

The Sanctum Spa is the next step after a hard workout. Guests can spend time relaxing on the terrace or rejuvenating in the thalassotherapy pool, or even indulge in a treatment such as a massage or even acupuncture. The salon is also close at hand should cruisers want to treat themselves to a manicure, pedicure, hair styling or teeth whitening.

While a cruise with Azamara Pursuit is destination focussed, there are plenty of ways to stay entertained during the day onboard the ship. On sea days, guests can expect everything from trivia, ping-pong and shuffleboard competitions, to live music and dancing by the pool.

For anyone looking to learn more about the destinations they visit, a guest lecturer is on hand to impart their expert knowledge, as well as a travel book library where you can delve even deeper into the culture and history of each port of call.

As well as an art gallery and several shops with lots of duty-free treats, there is a large pool flanked by plenty of comfortable sun loungers, perfect for laying back and relaxing as the hours pass by.

Shore Excursions

During their cruise, guests will have the chance to experience an AzAmazing Evening. These are complimentary shore excursions designed to give guests the opportunity to experience the best of local culture. Enjoy a romantic evening on a hillside in Tuscany, followed by an evening of live music performances, or see the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra after experiencing red carpet treatment — the AzAmazing Evenings are a superb way of indulging in local delicacies and culture.

Customer reviews for Azamara Pursuit

We had a wonderful cruise on Azamara Pursuit round the Mediterranean Islands. It was our second time with Azamara and it didn't disappoint. We chose it partly for the destinations and enjoyed them all. We only had one day at sea in the 10 days so it was fairly full on. This time the Azamazing evening was a little disappointing and the only other thing we were slightly unhappy with was the size of the bathroom - especially the shower with a plastic curtain. Overall, the service was superb and we loved everything else about the ship and the staff.

Everything that we expected & more. Luxurious ship, friendly staff & excellent service. Azamara know how to do things well including their Azamazing Evening ashore & White Night dinner evening. Only adverse comment is that Azamara's shore excursions tend to be very expensive & as a consequence we preferred to make our own independent arrangements.

This smaller sized ship is very friendly and has all the facilities that we could wish for. Having sailed on Azamara Journey twice in the past we were gratified that the Pursuit was as well appointed and of similar ethos. A welcome improvement for us was that the casino has been replaced by a large bar area. The AzAmazing Evening event with Ana Rucner, the cellist was absolutely great we really enjoyed the performance. All the shop’s tours were well organised and executed.
