Joining the Silversea fleet in 2020, the design of Silver Origin astounds guests at every turn. Purpose-built for sailing in the Galapagos Islands, she showcases Ecuadorian culture in a number of ways, from authentic cuisine to onboard expert guides ready to share their knowledge. With a passenger capacity of just 100 and a crew capacity of more than 80, guests onboard Silver Origin will relish in the immaculate level of service that Silversea Cruises is known for. In fact, this ship boasts the accolade of being the only one in the region to feature all-suites with a butler service. The onboard atmosphere is luxurious and comfortable, taking influence from the islands by incorporating bright feature colours and natural lava stone peppered throughout.
There are two dining venues onboard Silver Origin: The Restaurant and The Grill. The latter of these provides gorgeous al fresco dining with the option to be undercover if preferred and Hot Rocks, an exciting cooking method using lava stones at the table. The Restaurant is inside, but has wonderful floor-to-ceiling windows ensuring the view outside is not missed. Both venues feature some exquisite Ecuadorian cuisine on their menus, or international dishes are available too.
Entertainment onboard Silver Origin is understated yet cherished. The Explorer Lounge is a popular venue , both during the day and in the evening, hosting regular lectures and briefings as well as piano performances. The Explorer Lounge bar offers a wonderful menu of drinks, so guests can sip on a cocktail or a glass of wine while getting to know fellow passengers, seated around the atmospheric fire pit.
Stick to your routine and head to the fitness centre on Silver Origin where a workout using the exercise machines and free weights will be rewarded with breathtaking views from the floor to ceiling windows.
If you prefer to enjoy your holiday at a slower pace, book an appointment at the Beauty Salon or Spa so that trained professionals can pamper you with world-class treatments, including massages and hydrating facials, while you drift away into a land of relaxation.
Two areas, the Observation Lounge and Basecamp, are used for guests to meet and socialise in. Basecamp has a huge, interactive wall which cruisers can use to learn more about the Galapagos Islands or it can be used to watch videos and see photos to find out more about upcoming excursions. The Observation Lounge on the other hand is a quieter spot, where guests can watch the passing views through generous windows, or sit back and read a book from the onboard library.
Silver Origin also carries eight zodiacs, ready and waiting to whisk groups of guests out across the waters and closer to nature to see more of what the Galapagos Islands have to offer.
