This was our 60th P&O cruise and another one we enjoyed. However, both being in our 90s it was a pitty our cabin was at one end of this very large ship and the dinning room we were allocated was at the other end. A very long way to walk. This was our 60th P&O cruise and my wife Ruth was VERY disappointed that the laundrettes were not in operation and felt we should have been PREWARNED of this fact. Clothes always need pressing after a long journey. As on all previous 59 cruises we had come to expect a Jewish mini service prior to dinner on a Friday night, but for the first time this did not take place. Finally the friendly touch of finding a piece of chocolate on ones pillow each night also did not happen.
Great cruise and great staff
This was our 60th P&O Cruise. We missed the traditional Jewish Friday evening get together. My wife would have like to have been pre advised that that there would be NO Launderette Rooms available! Having to pre "Book" seats at Show inconvenient. We missed the Chocolates on the pillow at night time. The restaurant to which we were seated for dinner was at the opposite end of this very large ship to our cabin and for two 90 year olds. one of the two Midship restaurants would have been much more convenient. In spite of the above, we did enjoy our holiday and wish to record our thanks and appreciation to Vicky Connally who helped us with ALL THE PAPPER WORK. She was GREAT and we look forward to her help in the run-up to our 61st P&O cruise.
Only real criticism we would have of P&O was that drinking water had to be purchased. We feel that 2 small bottles per day left on a complimentary basis in the cabin fridge could have been provided at little cost to the company but at great benefit to those taking medication daily & otherwise drinking other than tea or coffee. It did seem quite parsimonious considering the overall cost of the cruise.
