Iglu Cruise customer reviews for Oceania Allura
Great cruise, staff are fantastic and the food even better if that is possible. Good sized well equiped cabin with double shower and use of the Conceirge lounge and front deck was worth the up grade. Will use Oceania again aas so many extras, gratuities, WiFi, drinks package and speciality restaurants all included on this trip.
We loved the Allura. We had sailed on the Oceania Riviera earlier in the year and had found it dated. That said we liked the service, the food and the general feel of the line so we’re keen to explore the newest ship in the line. And yes, it delivered. Beautiful cabins, excellent shower, fantastic food. In particular we liked the addition of the Aquamar Kitchen which serves up health breakfasts and lunches. We also made good use of Baristas and the new Creperie.
Oceania is our go to cruise line, it’s elegant and smart without being over the top with old fashioned Tux and Ballgowns! This is our 4th cruise with Oceania and have 2 more booked! However we found the food in terrace restaurant not as good as our previous cruises with them! Penny pinching was obvious! Entertainment is poor, their comedian Foggy Flax is awful, he was on our last cruise on Allura! But the real bug bare with us was the flights to and from Manchester! We seemed to be the only people from the UK who couldn’t fly direct to Istanbul and back from Athens! These are popular destinations and value airlines like Jet2, EasyJet etc fly there regularly, which are about 4and half hours! But we had to go with Lufthansa via frankfurt both ways which was a 12 hour journey there and 16 hours to get home! Which is unacceptable!!! We have asked in the past can we do direct flights and have been told our customers want scheduled flights, rubbish, we talked to customers who flew from Edinburgh, Liverpool and obviously London who were all given direct flights with easyJet and Jet2 ! This procedure REALLY spoils our holiday! We are in our 60s and 70s we do not need this kind of stress ! We love Oceania but this really isn’t fair!
The ship is beautiful, the staterooms stylish and with plenty of storage. The food was amazing and the service was excellent.
