Iglu Cruise customer reviews for Oceania Allura
We are first time cruisers and loved the Allura ship and the cruise experience . It felt like it was a Luxury experience Our concierge veranda suite was perfect with a large balcony with a sun lounger and 2 chairs and a table . Very spacious storage and lots of lovely touches . Good and wine was good with many choices if restaurants and so much choice for all tastes. We went to and loved all speciality restaurants but e sad orc it ally Red Ginger and Toscana . We also enjoyed sharing tables and getting to know other guests in these restaurants . We attended all the shows which were enjoyable but not much of the other entertainment as we liked to meet up with new friends in Martinis bar where there was a very talented piano singer Enjoyed pool and hot tubs on deck and never had a problem getting a lounger . Felt spa treatments were a little pricey so didn’t partake in these but really we were so busy with other things including independently arranged shore tours wasn’t c an issue . Itinerary / stops were altered 3 out of 6 days that were scheduled due to weather conditions but substitutes were fine and seemingly unavoidable. One total sea day but we actually enjoyed being on board that day and relaxing ! Would go again for sure
A big thank you to Amber for booking this package for us. Cruise and hotels in Istanbul and Athens were all great. The transfers were perfect and all on time. Allura was a fabulous ship. The food was the best we’ve ever had at sea particularly in their speciality restaurants. We didn’t think the ships entertainment was the best we’ve seen but just ok. We would definately sail Oceania again especially on their newer ships. Due to unsettled weather, the captain made 3 port changes which actually were probably even better than the original ports Thank you Iglu.
The Allura is a beautifully designed ship. The decore and art work were stunning. The cabins were spacious and the bathrooms were large and well fitted out with a modern walk-in shower. There were loads of drawers in both the bathroom and bedroom. The service throughout was excellent and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Food was very good.
The cabin we had was really spacious and well equipped (we were in a concierge level veranda suite), and we were especially impressed with the size of the shower which for a ships cabin was a really good size. All of the staff on the ship are just amazing and looked after us so well. The dining onboard was just brilliant, especially the speciality restaurants, our favourite one being Jacques which was to die for. The Grand Dining room and The Terrace were great as well. The standard drinks package was more than ample for us, and we’d query whether you’d get value from upgrading it to their premium package. We didn’t do any Oceania organised shore excursions but did our own independent thing or on one occasion used a Viator guide. The Oceania excursions looked a bit pricey to us when compared to Viator etc. All in all a marvellous holiday, and we’d highly recommend Oceania to anyone.
