Viking Star

From 1st January 2020 we no longer offer cruises with Viking. If you are looking for a similar ocean cruise experience to fantastic destinations with inspiring excursions we recommend checking out Regent Seven Seas Cruises. If you’re after specifically adult-only ships, meanwhile, we suggest Saga Ocean Cruises.

Known primarily for their river cruises, Viking now brings the same level of luxury to the ocean and with modern Scandinavian décor and port-intensive itineraries, guests can expect to travel the world in style when they choose the intimate Viking Star ship. Each beautifully designed stateroom has a veranda, meaning that guests can even continue to enjoy the stunning destinations and seascapes from the comfort of their own room.

Recreation

Recreation onboard Viking Star will enrich your time spent exploring destinations. To add to the thoughtfully created immersive itineraries, guests can benefit from lectures by history experts and academic luminaries in the main theatre to gain an insight into the history and culture of every port they visit.

However, in addition to discovering new places, Viking want to ensure that guests on their ships can make the most of their downtime. During sea days, cruisers can enjoy a range of organised activities, including golf putting and shuffleboard on the deck or board games in The Living Room.

Spa and fitness

Why not take your holiday relaxation to the next level with a visit to the ship’s spa? Inspired by Nordic traditions, there are a range of hot and cold treatments designed to boost circulation and detox the body. The spa’s most unique feature is the Snow Grotto, which is best alternated with a dip in the plunge pool, followed by stepping into the steam room.

In addition to the spa, guests can continue their pampering session by booking an appointment at the hair salon, barbers or nail bar.

Customer reviews for Viking Star

Beautiful ship with excellent food and service. The public rooms are excellent with live music played throughout the day by different players. All the staff are friendly and helpful as well as very efficient at their work.

This was our first cruise ever, and to say we enoyed it and that it was probably the best holiday we have ever enjoyed without our children is probably an understatement. We could not fault any of the cruise bit i.e. ship, accomodation, food, staff etc. We would love to do another cruise, probably up the coast of Norway, but cannot think we could take the risk of going with anybody but Viking.

We did West Indies Explorer on the inauguration cruise in October 16 - it was awesome! The ship was amazing - the staff were so helpful - our stateroom (Deluxe Veranda) had everything you need and some - it was like a 5* hotel room - the itinerary was excellent - although the included excursions were not always that good! The restaurants were excellent - cannot fault the food. The whole experience was let down by the entertainment - not great - but we didn't really care!!
