As you wander the decks of this glorious ship, you'll find all kinds of restaurants, bars and amenities to keep you occupied. For dining, you'll find the chefs cultivating a huge array of dishes for every craving you muster. From a freshly cooked breakfast on deck at The Orangery, to Café Bordeaux Bistro, created by Marco Pierre White, the Aurora has a great array of eateries. In the evenings, the Alexandria and Medina restaurants are just waiting for your reservation to dine in exquisite surroundings with sumptuous food.
The ship offers a fantastic wealth of stunning bars and ambient lounges. Lazing back at Anderson’s in front of the traditional fireplace, you'll simply melt into the cosy atmosphere of this laid-back bar. Alternatively, if you're in the mood for celebrating, Charlie’s elegant champagne bar is the place to go, with its sparkling design and glitzy colour. Plenty of other venues can still quench your thirst too- from Masquerade for a dance to the Riviera for cocktails, you're never short of options.
Carmen's is the central hub for live entertainment onboard. Here, the show lounge will provide you with countless memories of evening comedy or sophisticated cabaret. After the shows are over, the stage is cleared for a dance floor to let you dance the rest of the night away. The Curzon Theatre on the Promenade Deck has the feel of a traditional, Shakespearian theatre, yet behind the scenes is all the latest technology bringing you the very best West End-style performances you've seen.
With three top-class shops, a cinema showing all the latest Hollywood flicks and first-rate service all round, you have one of the most spectacular cruises imaginable. For those wanting to seek out a little bit of peace and quiet, the card room, writing room and library are also great places from which to enjoy the cruise.
Out on the deck and cruisers will be pleased to find two outdoor pools and several Jacuzzis, as well as an indoor pool with a retractable dome roof, meaning guests can enjoy a dip whatever the weather.
Sports-wise, there are courts for golf, tennis, football and whatever else takes your fancy. There’s also a fully equipped gym including a spacious aerobics room and personal trainers.
Onboard P&O Aurora you will find a smart-casual dress code accompanied by a select number of formal evenings. During the informal evenings either country-club style or jacket & trousers are acceptable attire for dinner in the main restaurants. Seven-night cruises typically offer two formal nights with 14-night cruises offering up to four. The formal nights onboard are black tie for gentlemen and elegant dress for the ladies. The buffet dining always offers an informal and casual dress code for those who prefer not to dress for dinner or those arriving back onboard late from daily shore excursions.
With P&O Cruises' great service why not take advantage of the wedding coordinator and have a cruise wedding or renew your vows?
The ship is a traditional cruise ship which is my preferred style. Everything was lovely, I had a superior balcony cabin which was really comfortable especially the pillows. The service was 1st class in all areas of the ship. The central staircase was beautiful, Art Deco lift areas, I had a wonderful time aboard Aurora, she has, to date become my favourite ship. I did the 3 nights Guernsey trip, I took the round island trip the island is spectacular I would definitely recommend this short break especially for those who are trying cruising for the first time
Furniture nicely refurbished, the cabins were small (age taken into account ) a bit tired. The balcony was awful Dirty not cleaned at all. Can’t complain as the cost for three nights was fine.
A wonderful holiday. Staff on board were amazing. Nothing was too much. Cleanliness was a priority and staff were continuously cleaning public areas. Menus were varied and catered for all tastes. Plenty of entertainment on board when sailing between ports.
We enjoyed our break but would only recommend to people older than ourselves, as felt it was suitable comparison to saga cruises. We will stick to family ships as we feel the entertainment suits us better.
