Family

In addition to the abundance of family-friendly amenities and activities you can enjoy onboard Star of the Seas – like Splashaway Bay, the rock-climbing wall at Adrenaline Peak, and the Sports Court – you’ll find a comprehensive kid’s club programme to take advantage of – much like Royal Caribbean’s other Icon series cruise ships.

Royal Caribbean’s Adventure Ocean youth programme, alongside child-focused venues like the Teen Lounge, ensure that children of all ages have something to look forward to when it comes to cruising aboard Star of the Seas. Aquanauts (for ages 3 to 5 years), Explorers (for ages 6 to 8 years), and Voyagers (for ages 9 to 12 years) are immersive experiences where learning and play go hand-in-hand; you’ll find a range of age-appropriate activities – both supervised and unsupervised – in these exciting areas onboard.

Meanwhile, teenagers will have their own hangout to enjoy – an area which will also host organised events for both 12 to 14 year-olds and 15 to 17 year-olds, ensuring that everyone will have something fun to experience while onboard. You’ll also find things like games consoles and table football in this area, so there’s no pressure to take part in structured events if you don’t want to.

Children ages 6 months to 36 months will also be able to enjoy a variety of stimulating experiences and socialising in Royal Babies & Tots; and, there are some nursery drop-off services available if you’re a parent looking for a little time to yourself.

Things to do

With so many fantastic features and amazing amenities available onboard, Star of the Seas really does have something for everyone to enjoy; when it comes to finding something to do while at sea, Royal Caribbean has made sure you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Recreation

If you’re something of a thrill-seeker, you’ll be able to tackle endless waves and work on your surfing skills with FlowRider, or you can hop off the side of the ship (attached to a harness, of course) and see everything from a brand new (and unique) perspective with Crown’s Edge. Star of the Seas is also home to Adrenaline Peak, an impressive climbing wall that’s perfect for a bit of friendly competition between family and friends – or, other cruisers!

For those of you who prefer ‘chills’ over ‘thrills’, you’ll find plenty of places to put your feet up and relax. Adults can enjoy a little peace and quiet in and around the Hideaway Pool and Cloud 17 – both adults-only areas onboard – while children will find hours of fun in Splashaway Bay, an incredible waterpark destination on the upper decks. You’ll also find a number of other swimming pools throughout Star of the Seas, so there’s more than enough room to stay refreshed while relaxing in the sunshine while at sea.

Wellness

Beyond this, if you’re looking to unwind with a sumptuous spa treatment or two while at sea aboard Star of the Seas, Royal Caribbean has you covered; the Vitality Spa is home to a wide variety of holistic services and treatments – from relaxing massages and rejuvenating facials to bathing rituals and more. You’ll also find an extensive selection of salon services available, if you’re looking to refresh your look alongside your wellness experience.

That’s not all, though. Those of you who have a fitness journey to continue, or a workout regime to stick to, will be pleased to know that there’s a state-of-the-art fitness centre onboard with a wide range of gym equipment to take advantage of. Royal Caribbean cruises also play host to world-class fitness classes throughout each and every voyage, so those of you looking for a little extra motivation and guidance will be looked after.

Useful Information

Destinations

Star of the Seas might be an adventure in and of itself, but where does this remarkable cruise ship whisk you away to when you set sail? Well, with voyages starting in Port Canaveral, itineraries aboard this spectacular Royal Caribbean cruise ship will primarily sail through the Caribbean and Central America – both Eastern Caribbean destinations like Puerto Rico and St Maarten and Western Caribbean destinations like Honduras and Cozumel in Mexico.

You’ll also find a lot of itineraries stopping off at Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas, one of the best cruise line private islands out there and an incredible resort to spend – as the name suggests – the perfect day during your holiday.

Hull Design

Much like Icon of the Seas, Royal Caribbean is going to use the hull of Star of the Seas to feature the work and designs of Caribbean-based artists – utilising the same Artist Discovery Program as before. Four artists will also be selected to paint large-scale murals for the Royal Promenade, the Suite Sun Deck Lobby, the Suite Sun Deck, and the embarkation area.

You can also find out more about other new cruise ships coming in 2025 and beyond right here, if you're looking for options beyond Star of the Seas. This ship is also going to be one of the biggest cruise ships in the world when it sets sail, much like Icon of the Seas already is.
