Viking Sun, launched in 2017, is the 4th in a series of four identical cruise vessels to be commissioned for
. The ship is preceded by Viking Star (2015), Viking Sea (2016) and Viking Sky (February 2017). Viking Chairman Torstein Hagen announced plans to create at least 9 nearly identical ships. The new ships will be built according to the latest navigation regulations and equipped with the most modern safety systems, including the “Safe return to port”. They will be designed by Fincantieri and the interior fittings will be assigned to Rottet Studio of Los Angeles and SMC Design of London, as with the previous ships.
Cabin types range from comfortable Veranda Staterooms with stunning views to the spacious Explorer Suite with interconnecting rooms.
Viking Sun will boast an impressive range of dining venues offering guests plenty of variety for meal times. Options onboard include gourmet burgers at the Pool Grill, Afternoon Tea served in the elegant Wintergarden, Italian favourites at Manfredi’s and fine dining in The Restaurant. The World Café serves up international dishes and regional specialities whilst The Chef’s Table provides intimate dining experiences.
Entertainment onboard Viking Sun sets the scene for an enriching cruise holiday. Known as “the thinking person’s cruise” guests can enjoy history and art lectures, tasting vintage wines, informative port talks and concerts showcasing classical and regional music.
