What's onboard
Dining
When you’re dining aboard National Geographic Sea Bird, you’ll have the chance to enjoy flavourful meals featuring regional dishes and locally-sourced ingredients wherever possible. You’ll also be dining in a stylish setting, with a relaxed atmosphere and an open seating policy, meaning you can sit anywhere you like when it comes to eating.
An intimately-sized cruise ship with a capacity of just 62 guests at any one time, there is only one dining room onboard, and meals are served at set dining times, but the service you’ll be met with is attentive and thoughtful, and the food is a testament to the incredible culinary team onboard – and the incredible cuisines of the region around you. Everyone is bound to find something they enjoy each mealtime, and you may just come away with a new favourite.
Entertainment
The entertainment you’ll find available on National Geographic Sea Bird is rather relaxed, and often focused on further connecting you to the fascinating environment around you. So, simply put, you’re not going to encounter traditional cruise entertainment onboard, and certainly nothing like the Broadway-style shows and stand-up comedy you’ll find on larger cruise ships.
The lounge venue onboard is comfortable and intimate, equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology to support informative presentations from onboard experts, movie showings, and more. It’s also home to a small library space and a well-stocked bar, making it an equally inviting venue for those of you who want to relax and tuck into a good book or sit and socialise with your fellow cruisers.
Family
Adventurers and explorers of all ages are welcome aboard National Geographic Sea Bird, but you’re not going to find many child-focused facilities or activities available onboard. This sleek ship is designed to take you into some of the more remote regions along the American coastline, and everything about the onboard experience is designed to connect you further with the environment around you.
With that said, however, cruisers over the age of six months are welcome onboard; although, some of the activities available onboard and onshore will be unsuitable for children and additional age limitations may apply. You’ll also find National Geographic’s Explorers-in-Training programme available on select sailings, where additional interactive learning experiences and activities will make each moment even more exciting. The crew, though, will do their best to keep younger cruisers engaged throughout each voyage, and children with a curious nature about the world around them will find an adventure aboard National Geographic Sea Bird rewarding.
