Iglu Cruise customer reviews for Oceania Regatta
The ship was more than 25 years old. In my opinion, it cannot be classed as a luxury ship, as the bathroom, when compared to other cruise ships we have been on, (eg. P & O, MSC, Celebrity), was a very very shower cubical, say only 4sq. ft. Generally speaking the staff were excellent, but they need to lear that both plant based food and vegan food are non-dairy food. It was disappointment that some of the staff did not understand this fact and choice for vegetarians/vegans overall when compared to non-vegetarians was very limited, say a ratio of 1:5 and this is completely unacceptable. Luckily, our prayers were answered when the head waited advised veggie/vegan food of our choice would be made subject to 24 hours notice was good to know and we were happy with this as we managed to get food of our choice, especially at dinner time.
The arrangements for the holiday conducted by Iglu were excellent. The culture of Oceania was very dissapointing and completely ruined the holiday to the point where I don’t want to be Reminded of it.
Regatta was good. The transfer you arranged from the ship to the airport was not. He failed to turn up and we spent an hour telephoning. The booking of the speciality restaurants was dreadful.
The itinerary was excellent, providing a good selection of ports of call. Sadly, due to weather conditions, one port visit was cancelled. When tendering, priority was given to passengers who booked an excursion, The ship's crew was excellent, cheerful and very helpful. The restaurants were chic and luxurious, and the service excellent. In the buffet, the range of food was limited and not very inspiring. The Spa area was good; however, the treatments offered were exorbitantly priced. The couple of shops were limited and, again, very pricey. The medical department would not give me some paracetamol unless I underwent a medical exam and paid $500! The rooms had good furnishings and balconies; however, even on the concierge level, they were very narrow, making it difficult to manoeuvre between the bed end and the TV hung on the adjacent wall. The ensuite was small with a cramped shower unit, a cabinet protruding onto the basin, making it difficult to wash one's face without constantly banging one's head and splashing water on the floor, and the toilet was so close to the door that one's knees were squeezed against the door while sitting on it. The ship's decor was excellent and classy, with wood wall panelling. The library was a place to relax, improve one's mind, all in comfort and heavenly furnishings, books and adornments.
