Iglu Cruise customer reviews for Pride of America
We were on a cruise and stay holiday. One weeks cruise on Pride of America with nights at Hilton Waikiki Beach pre and post cruise. We also had pre booked transfers. The hotel was very good. We had a room on a high floor with a large balcony and sea view. The included breakfast was very good. Our transfers were excellent. Always on time. Confirmed the day before. Lovely clean vehicles. Courteous drivers. The cruise itiniery was very good. We had bad weather for the first couple of days but then improved. Highlights were visit to the volcano and whale watching. Very impressed with the cruise ship. Enjoyed the included package for beverages, specialty dining and wifi. Food was excellent as was the service. Always had a table for 2 at the time we wanted. Overall excellent holiday
The ship itself is older but plenty of drawer and hanging space although the cabins themselves are a bit "tired" but its about the destinations not the ship! The food was very nice and staff were very friendly. The new Hawaiian tourist tax is now also applied to cruise ship passengers plus even though you have a drinks package you still have to pay the sales tax on any drink you buy onboard (because it is a US ship sailing in US waters) Their Hawaiian ambassador Aneala, gave talks on Hawaiian language/customs and beliefs as well as Hula lessons. Fascinating and very interesting and informative.
Thank you so much iglu for a holiday of a lifetime. Your scheduling, information, booking transfers and flights were tremendous. All run smoothly and perfectly timed. We loved our cruise and adored the Hawaiian islands. The ship ran like clockwork with the most friendliest of staff. All happy to help and always spoke kindly. Very helpful too. Information on board was second to none and they offered a wide variety of trips.
Had been on 2 other cruises with ncl but found this the nicest ship. Loved the Cadillac diner but wouldn't eat on a regular basis. One thing that was disappointing was the lack of complimentary restaurants. On here basically for non-snack type food there was only two restaurants which served the same menu and the buffet which my friend and I have always hated. The food however was top notch and especially like the speciality steak restaurant Other than that would definitely recommend this ship. Check in was very easy even though I had problems doing this on line and disembarkation was good too.
