Celebrity Apex

Launching in 2020, Celebrity Apex is the second ship in the Celebrity Cruises fleet to cruise from Southampton, the other being Celebrity Silhouette. Celebrity Apex is also the second ship in the Edge Class of cruise ships, matching her sister ship Celebrity Edge in features and more, to truly offer the pinnacle of modern luxury cruising.

With capacity for 2,900 passengers, Celebrity Apex features all of the onboard amenities that make Celebrity Edge so popular including infinite balconies, martini glass Jacuzzis, and the fantastic cantilevered platform; the ‘Magic Carpet’. Edge Villas are also available with double storeys, wrap-around glass windows, and private plunge pools. In addition, Celebrity Apex will feature Infinite balconies with full glass verandas to bring the outside in an unbelievable style.

The Magic Carpet is definitely a highlight of the Edge Series. This movable platform on the side of the ship can change to become different venues depending on which level it stops on. From al fresco dining to open deck bars, there’s something for everyone on the Magic Carpet.

Ship Facilities

In terms of dining you can expect the same level of fantastic cuisine as Celebrity Apex’s predecessors in the Celebrity Cruises fleet. Whether passengers opt for ‘free dining’ or prefer to try out one of the speciality restaurants onboard, there’s something for everyone with 29 unbelievable eating and drinking options to choose from.

Of these dining venues there will be four standard and seven speciality restaurants. Special mention has to go to Luminae, which is exclusively for suite guests as an alternative to the main dining room, and the Rooftop Garden Grill for homely burgers and barbecues out in the open air. However, as with most aspects on Celebrity Apex, the Magic Carpet simply steals the show for its truly unique dining experience.

Once again, Celebrity Apex boasts the same excellent entertainment venues and features as her sister ship:

  • The Retreat is a sundeck for suite guests with lounge chairs, a pool bar, and a secluded area with retreat lounge with great concierge service.
  • The Resort Deck has a pool, solarium, and rooftop garden. Martini glass shaped hot tubs are the ideal place to relax and sip on a cocktail. Here, glass surrounds the deck edge allowing for amazing views, with spacious outward facing cabanas where you can gaze out to sea.
  • The Rooftop Garden has activities and entertainment during the day, and evenings offer barbeques under the stars at the grill for an atmospheric dining experience.
  • With the Magic Carpet, Celebrity Apex literally elevates the definition of modern luxury cruising. Moving up and down for various events and activities such as live music and al fresco grills throughout the day. Finally, Magic Carpet finishes the day at the top deck for drinks overlooking an unspoiled sunset. In addition, the Magic Carpet can go right down to sea level for boarding smaller watercraft.
  • The theatre offers interactive, highly digitised, contemporary renditions of Shakespeare and modern variety entertainment.

The activities onboard Celebrity Apex are tailored so that every guest can enjoy themselves during the cruise. The large pool and jogging track on the Resort Deck mean that you can stay active during your holiday, although if you’d rather just dip your toes in the water while sipping on a drink, there is the Pool Bar where you can do just this. The ship is also a great place to indulge in some retail therapy and with top-end brands, you’re guaranteed to find a little holiday treat exactly to your taste. Celebrity also hasn’t forgotten about the younger guests onboard. Camp at Sea has been carefully organised so that children of all ages can take part in interactive and engaging activities.

Spa and fitness

Celebrity Cruises offer some of the finest spa facilities at sea with their AquaClass packages, which include unlimited access to the Persian Garden Spa, plus exclusive dining in the clean-eating speciality restaurant, Blu. As well as this, Celebrity Apex takes rejuvenation while cruising to a whole new level, featuring a 22,000 square foot spa complex designed by Kelly Hoppen, of Dragon’s Den fame. Featured spa and treatment facilities include zero gravity, ocean wave or salt stone massages out of an unbelievable 124 possible treatments.
