Thanks to Silversea's popular S.A.L.T dining program, culinary experiences are a real highlight onboard Silver Dawn with Salt Lab, where you can learn how to concoct local dishes from the destination you’re in with the expert resident chefs and even special guests. As well as the Salt Kitchen providing quality international cuisine, there are an impressive number and range of dining options for every mood and occasion from all over the world.
If you’re wanting Asian treats such as sushi, head to Kaiseki, for French cuisine, La Dame, and for italian you’ve got Spaccanapoli for pizza and La Terrazza for elevated rustic dishes.
To make the most of the gorgeous weather, La Terrazza offers al fresco dining in style, while The Grill and Atlantide are musts for lovers of surf ‘n’ turf. On the other hand, if you’re in the mood for a tasting session, try a few tapas or small dishes at Silver Note.
Entertainment
The cultural enrichment doesn’t stop ashore thanks to Silver Dawn. As well as learning to cook local dishes in the Salt Lab, the arts cafe is perfect for a coffee and peruse of fantastic pieces of art, while the Venetian Lounge offers an intimate space boasting live performances of cabaret, music and film viewings.
For those who fancy a flutter, head to the Casino for blackjack, poker, roulette tables and plenty of arcade machines, while the Connoisseur’s Corner offers a wide range of premium brands, comfy seating inside and an outdoor terrace to take in the views and relax.

Meanwhile, if you’re looking to work up a sweat and burn off last night’s exquisite meal, head to the state-of-the-art fitness centre.
Recreation
For avid readers, you’ll find plenty of choice in the Observatory Library, complete with comfy seating and amazing views out to sea. Meanwhile, if you’re looking for a bit of retail therapy, the onboard Boutiques offer fantastic shopping opportunities with well-known brands, souvenirs and essential items.
To make the most of the fantastic weather, the Pool Deck and jacuzzi area become the lively hub on sunny sea days. Take a refreshing dive in the large central pool or soothe your tired body in the hot tubs with a cocktail as you recover from the day's adventures ashore.

Food and service excellent Silver Dawn is a great ship with all amenities required. Only disappointment was the change of itinerary due to various weather and strike related problems. Missed St Malo and Porto also night in Lisbon with extra sea day instead. Lost our inclusive excursions with no compensation offered or alternative excursions offered . This is not a bargain cruise and they could at least given on board spend to compensate for the missed ports of call and cancelled excursions.
The ship is quite new so everything was in excellent condition. The suite staff were superb and friendly as were all other members of the crew. The food was good, ample and well presented but the amount on show in the buffet gave rise for concern about how much would be wasted. Less on show and replenished as necessary would be good. The excursions were well organised other than the shuttle which didn’t go to Newcastle despite being advertised as such. More an issue for Silversea than Iglu. All in all a great trip and superb value for money.
Arts Café was great, with a good changing selection of light bites and friendly staff. Restaurant menus didn’t indicate if any dishes were plant based, and there was only one or two items changed daily. The breakfast and lunch buffets had a great selection, but the only food we saw labelled as vegan or plant based were an odd desert. None of the salads and associated dressings were classified. Most of the staff were very professional and helpful. Loved that we were offered in-suite toiletries, including an option for sensitive skin
