Iglu Cruise customer reviews for Queen Mary 2
Firstly the positives. . . Food is excellent Service also is efficient In the evening there is a very good comedian called Jeff Stephenson and Cunard made the World Cup coverage easy to watch,. There's Board games also. The negatives were the website close to embarkation where it wouldn't accept our mainstream debit cards but at port it went smoothly. Whilst on the ship we received a letter saying our buying would be restricted if we didn't call our bank which was embarrassing and unnecessary so we visited the pursers counter where we had to use an emergency credit card so it sounds like Cunard may have some "arrangement " with credit card suppliers but it was a worry we didn't need. Being my first cruise/voyage i was pleasantly surprised just how smooth the Queen Mary 2 is. Great to take in the Statue of Liberty at sunrise also.
We had a great time. Weather was fantastic. Service in parts was slow, but it was a busy cruise. Embarkation was a bit of a nightmare especially in the heat. We also received onboard credit which we weren’t informed about. My sister only found out by accident , at 20. 45 on the Thursday evening, 15 minutes before the shops closed. My brother wasn’t able to use his as he didn’t know about it. That was disappointing to our two first time cruisers. IGLU were great during the initial booking process, but were difficult to contact after booking. I added one passenger and incurred a charge, considering we spent a lot of money over the 2 days, I felt that this was unacceptable. Although I did feel that IGLU gave us a great initial price.
From start to finish, the whole ship and crew were all perfect! The food was outstanding, all delivered to your table in a professional manner. The choice of wine to accommodate the meal was also great, with great information provided by a sommelier “Sergei”.
Beautiful ship, fantastic crew, everyone very friendly, love all the Cunard ships but QM2 is special.
