Iglu Cruise customer reviews for Celebrity Equinox
This was our 4th cruise with Celebrity. We have always chosen them because of the itineraries but we have found them to be better than other cruise lines we have travelled with because of the comfort of the cabins, quality of the food and drink, friendliness of the staff and standard of entertainment. This cruise was as good, if not better, than the previous 3!
Faultless in every way . ( with the possible exception of the cost of laundry ! ) Stateroom was superb and the staff were unfailingly polite and helpful . Food was varied and of a high standard . Entertainment was likewise. Itinerary was excellent and many thanks to Celebrity for providing such beautiful weather and calm seas in the Antarctic!
We really love Celebrity Equinox and this was our third cruise on it. The itinerary met our needs and as we previously found the ambience on the ship, its size, the friendliness and exceptional hard work of the staff, the activities which suited us, the dining room experience and quality of the ship. Our stateroom steward Ronald was exceptional in his work and helpfulness. Our main disappointment was the change of itinerary because of a’medical incident’. This ship started to change course at about 3 am, as I was watching it on our stateroom TV, It the landed in Puerto Madryn at an early evening/ night time, many hours later. This seems unusual for an’ emergency’. Why the person wasn’t helicoptered off, given a landing stage available, seems illogical and inconvenienced EVERY passenger. It led to us arriving at the Falklands in more unfavourable weather, the previous day was reportedly excellent for a visit, would have meant two tenders operating at a time but led to less time on land and very late returns with exceptionally long queues in cold conditions. However, the work of the tender operators was first class. It meant we missed Cape Hoorn, which was a must see for most people. The Captain was very affable and his dealing with the situation was efficient and kept us informed. I would cruise again on Equinox, as it is a great, well run ship.
Cabin was good, staff were great. The food in the main restaurant was very good but somewhat limited in variety. Wine choice in particular was inconsistent, very often our wine of choice, Argentine Malbec was unavailable
