Iglu Cruise customer reviews for Marella Explorer
Very happy with the Marella explorer cruise. The guys who were looking after our room were amazing!! Dining was good except for the vegetables. All the cooked vegetables were over cooked, hence the 4 stars. Salads were however good. Not much variety on the buffet. Like food from different countries. However? Whatever was available was tasty. I liked the self service taps of wine and lager at the buffet area. That was excellent!
The crew were very good, in fact, best thing about the cruise. Entertainment was very poor, apart from the three guest appearances. The ship was dead, no music on pool deck, just constant advertising on the film screen. The cabin was adequate but had no fridge and extremely hard bed. The excursions were reasonable okay. Overall poor value for money
Problem with cabin TV which was not solved the Marella Discovery is a much better boat.
Ship was clean, felt modern enough and well maintained. Deck 9 aft-forward cabin was quiet noisy 24/7 (engine vibration(?), even whilst docked). No cabin fridge and TV/movie options were rubbish (no point in having the cabin TV). Good entertainment options and quality, though sound system in the theatre was poor, silent disco music was the same old tired stuff and no sail-away parties. Food choice and quality was average at best; other cruise lines are much much better. Marella can only compete on price.
