Norwegian Epic Reviews
View Cruise DealsPrefer smaller ships but liked the itinerary. Food excellent - we could always find something we liked. Very busy ship with plenty of entertainment. We would have appreciated somewhere to have a quiet drink but didn’t manage to find anywhere. Nowhere near enough lifts and stairs which concerned us. Only 2 sockets in cabin (both European) and tucked under a cupboard - hard to reach. No usb sockets at all. The jogging track is really just a line up & down & no view as it’s hidden behind lifeboats mostly. We like to walk a couple of miles a day when on ship but nowhere to do that outside - all seemed a bit disjointed.
The size of the ship was enough for the number of people on board, the main entertainment areas looked smart and not in need of much repair, also they were large enough for the events and entertainment which was available. The cabin was of average standard and the balcony was in poor state of repair. Food in the main restaurants had very little change but the buffet area had a lot of choice. Most of the hot tubs did not work. All the staff were friendly and worked extremely hard.
We had an excellent trip. Positives: ship was lovely, very clean and comfortable. Staff were unbelievable, so supportive and helpful. My daughter has food allergies and we felt very supported and safe. She actually had a reaction on our second day (we don’t think it was the crews fault at all), and the support we received was fantastic, I can’t praise the staff enough. My daughter loved the kids club and would have spent the whole holiday there if possible! Negatives: I felt the $20 per person per day compulsory service charge was steep, especially as it also charged that amount for our 3 year old daughter, so cost us an additional $600 which we didn’t budget for. Given the high expense of the cruise we feel that the staff should just be paid a better wage rather than charging additional fees to your customers while on board. The facilities for under 3’s was disappointing, my youngest enjoyed the guppies room but it did get very repetitive. It also would be nice if there was more activities for under 3’s during the family free play sessions in the splash academy. I wanted to especially mention Michelle at O’Sheehans who went above and beyond to support us in managing our daughter’s allergies, alongside other restaurant supervisors and chefs. It is always extremely anxiety provoking travelling with allergies, but I didn’t need to worry as your staff were amazing.
Excellent initial booking service. NCL cruise excellent, especially food and entertainment.
The NCL ship was a pleasant one and open dining is a massive positive, the showers are the same size as in the uk which was a pleasant surprise.
Overall we enjoyed our first cruise and waking up to a new port to visit each day. The variety of food was good. Entertainment in the Epic theatre and Headliners was very good. We visited 2 specialty restaurants and enjoyed the food, service and ambience in Le Bistro.
Had a great time.
Lovely cruise, would try NCL again.
Older ship but staff and entertainment were amazing. Food also good standard and plentiful. Can’t wait to book next cruise!
Despite bad reviews we found this to be a fun cruise, food was good, service excellent and entertainment the best. Burn the Floor was the best show we've ever seen at sea having been on dozens of cruises. Daniel the Cruise Director was amazing and always genuinely pleased to see and chat with us. We didn't pay top dollar by any means but we go great value for money and no complaints. hairdryer stopped working and within two minutes, an officer bought meanother one. TV stopped working and was fixed immediately. Very efficient service and with a smile. Will go back to The Epic another time.
