I'm writing this review comparing other cruise lines I've been on. The overall cruise and stops visited was good, the staff work very hard and are very friendly. Embarking and disembarking was poor and not well organised, compounded by a ships tanoy system being low quality. The food was very good especially in the speciality restaurants however general restaurants had limited choices. The day time entertainment ( games etc), I found very cheesy and very noisy. Other shows good, Choir of man was excellent. I liked the ships layout and our cabin was excellent.

This cruise was chosen for the excellent itinerary. 14 nights down past Mexico then via lots of other interesting stops to wonderful Cartagena in Colombia. Finally back to New Orleans to stay over for Mardi Gras. On the NCL Escape the music, entertainment and food were good although the ship is looking a bit dated with lots of dark wood. There are some nice outside seating areas but it lacks quiet comfy inside space. Getting rid of at least some of the under-used casino area and the dated art auctions could improve this. Photographers were annoying. The class MB Club Balcony suite (11838) was excellent with a large and well-equipped bathroom. Excursions were well run and with the "More at Sea" discount were surprisingly affordable. Daily cabin and other extra service charges are a source of annoyance to European travellers. A general industry comment. Most Caribbean cruises, especially on desirable new ships, are only seven nights. This is not cost effective for travellers from the UK. Can we have more proper 14-night cruises please (and not just two x 7-nights back-to-back via Miami twice). Robin :>

went on N Escape food I found very good plenty of choice and the option of specialty restaurant's were excellent. For the size of the ship was well managed and always managed to find a seat to dine no queuing. Except for a few members of staff I found the service very hit & miss , and far to pushy trying to up sell all the time . Especially in the duty free shops with watches jewerlery not interested except if you was buying an expensive item very dismissive . a shame as everything else I found very good . entertainment excellent disappointed that everything seemed to wind down or close by 10pm very few options after this time . due to the weather we could not dock in Roatan or costa maya so only 2 stops far to many days at sea days very disappointing few people said this happens quite a lot ?? especially Roatan island ? this was the main island I wanted to explore too First cabin not good someone's else's cases etc. there & not cleaned not a good start & very small for 2 people - we was upgraded to another outside cabin , much better

We recently went on a Norwegian cruise and, at first, we were a little disappointed due to problems with the onboard app. It was running about a week behind, wasn’t showing the correct information, and nobody seemed to know how to fix it. However, once we spoke to a staff member who advised us to log out and log back in, the app started working properly. After that, everything became much more enjoyable. You just need to understand that Norwegian is a very laid-back cruise line, which gives the ship a relaxed and easy-going atmosphere. The staff were excellent, especially the entertainment team. Jake in particular was fantastic and really stood out. We were also lucky enough to speak with the General Hotel Manager, who was very friendly and took the time to chat with us. Overall, once the initial app issue was resolved, we had a great cruise and would happily sail with Norwegian again.

Good trip on Norwegian escape. The food was always good and served hot. Good service all round. The entertainment was great, especially the Choir of Man show. Had the more at sea package that worked well for us. The freestyle dining worked well and we never had to wait for a table. Only downside was that the main pool area on this ship isn’t very big and was totally packed. You couldn’t get in the pool because people were rammed in sat on all sides sunbathing. We did have to get up and get beds by 7. 30 am on sea days otherwise you would struggle to get beds. Because it was over the Xmas/new year period the ship was FULL and with very large family/friend groups so one person for example who were near us came up and reserved 10 beds in a row and their party dribbled in and out during the day. Another thing to consider is that the ship calls at ncl’s private island Harvest Cay and unlike some other cruise lines where food etc is included as would be on the ship, on Harvest Cay you had to pay for everything, food drinks etc. so forget about using your drinks package. Also you pay a compulsory $20 per person per day gratuities on the ship and on Harvest Cay everything food/drinks wise charges you a minimum of 20% service charge so it’s a definite win for NCL when the majority of passengers head for their beach.

This was our first time cruising with NCL and frankly compared to our experience with other cruise lines such as P&O, Princess, and Royal Caribbean it just wasn’t the same. Cannot fault food, drinks, service or the cabins but we didn’t enjoy the ships design or the informality on board. The ship seems to be designed to cram as many dining and bar options into the ship but in doing so it just feels too on top of one another. For instance for all the bars there are very few places to sit and enjoy your drink! As for the informality, we are not snobs but do enjoy getting changed for dinner and yet found ourselves in the minority where shorts, t-shirts and trainers were common in din8n* rooms

Generally the cruise was really good, plenty to do, good excursions, excellent food choices and very clean. However, the disembarkment process was an absolute nightmare, having being directed in a massive queue to walk 3 lengths of the ship over 2 decks which took 2 hours 40 minutes, we missed our prearranged/prepaid transport to the airport and had to rearrange transport. You need to sort this before I would go back on that ship.

Had a fantastic time on our cruise. The whole experience was great including food, drinks, staff, entertainment and ports. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the entertainment was very good especially Choir of Man and Rumors. There are some areas that are a little dated on the ship including the rooms, but wouldn’t hesitate to book and go on the same ship again. We would definitely cruise with NCL again.
