This was our second time on the Marella Explorer 2 but the first time in a Suite. It was lovely to have a large balcony with both sun loungers as well as table and chairs. On sea days there is no need to go looking for a free lounger on the deck. I thought the shower over the bath wasn't the best for anyone who has any mobility problems as it was a very high step in and step out. We were on Deck 10 Mid-ship which we found quite noisy with tables, chairs and food carts being moved around immediately above us on Deck 11.
Staff where great friendly and very attentive, the cabin was really clean and a good size (outside cabin deck 2) couldnt fault anything food was excellent plenty of choice, loved the itinery will definitely be travelling with marella again
From start to finish the cruise was extremely well organised and communicated. We were on the boat in 1:15hr after landing at Corfu although I think Greece has suspended the EES process which helped. The Captain and Ents Director gave a personal message each day which shows some thought towards the passengers. I have been on one Marella cruise before so I was aware it is aimed at the British market and so food and drink menus are angled that way. The bars are plentiful, the draft beer was limited to one type but there were other premium brands in cans and bottles. However it was all lager unless you take the premium drinks package. The cocktails were ok but low on alcohol, spirits were strong. We thought the food offering was excellent for mass catering. Plenty of choices and available most of the day. The Main Dining Room presented waiter service with plenty of menu options and generally speedy service given then numbers dining. There is no booking system, you just turn up. The buffet provided some excellent currys, no doubt inspired by the Indian chefs. There was entertainment for all tastes throughout the day, I enjoyed the fantastic shows and loved the theatre experience and the 45 minutes of song and dance by the resident show people. They really put energy into their performances. Small attention to detail, such as providing a selection of drinks when entering the theatre and greeting the audience at the end of the show, was well appreciated. There is live music to suit all taste in the bars. The cabins are fine, with plenty of room for storage, a 2pin and a 3pin plug, a comfortable bed, and cleaned daily if you wish. The staff were without exception polite and helpful. The ship Marella Voyager is kept ship shape with external painters and cleaners at work at almost every port. Inside it was in good condition having had a refit in 2023. Overall, I very much enjoyed this voyage which went around the Greek islands from Corfu.
A quiz every night,a show every night and a game show. Squid and anchor onto broadway then back to squid and anchor. A very full night and very well entertained. I didnt enjoy all the Broadway shows but I was happy to dit there and watch in what is a very comfortable show room. The only thing I didnt like was Junior. His singing was poor. When he came in half the room left. There was a lady for 1 night that sang in the west end and she was fantastic. Bit of opera,bit of normal fantastic. We were well looked after for 2 weeks. When we got on the coach to go to the airport 2 of the squid abd anchor people came on our bus to make sure we were OK Ayden abd a girl with ginger hair. She was inchsrge of entertainment. They made sure we knew what to expect luggage wise. Bless them both. If has been so well run from start to finish.
