Really good time, so easy from Dover also!

Beautiful ship in first class condition. Excellent and welcoming crew. Excellent food; the best of any cruise so far. Lectures poor, little enrichment. Main circular theatre with AI screens surrounding you is the best I have seen but this is let down by poor entertainment. Bar prices and gratuities are bare faced robbery. The ship always parks furthest from the town and then charges you for a coach journey at a ridiculous price. I assume B. B. King’s music lounge means “Bang Bang” as the drummer is trying to wake the next visited town. Not liked by many people who walked past the place covering their ears. Holland America might in future have to defend claims for hearing damage. Not much better in the Rolling Stones lounge where the singers cannot sing. All in all fair cruise and with some positive comments I don’t think that I will be cruising with Holland American again although it might be just right for other people.

Great service, food very good and ports as expected. Excursions very expensive and not well organized. Left waiting in sun over 30 minutes. No transfers included in package, I asked for transfer to be arranged to port, I am really pleased as this was much cheaper than a taxi, disappointed with iglu as written on my records this was not recommended. Like Holland America cruises but don't expect good entertainment. Comedy was aimed at British

I was most impressed with the ship and its personnel. Everyone seemed happy and enjoyed their work and that made my holiday so much more pleasant. If the people l travel with are happy, then so am l. I often stopped to chat with personnel on board and found them all to be polite and pleasant. The ship was in beautiful condition all the time. My state room was immaculate and well-equipped. I had everything l needed. The daily programme was varied and the one excursion l did was good. This was the historic nature walk in Half Moon Cay, the Bahamas. I found the rest were very expensive. I did not feel totally at ease in Ocho Rios, partly because it seemed very poor and run-down. I went ashore at Grand Cayman and found it safe to walk around. It was rather a shock to find Cozumel so commercialised, as the first time l visited the region was back in 1979. The food onboard was of a high standard, delicious and well presented. Service was well organised and efficient. The weather was perfect. It was a wonderful change from winter in England. Thank you for a great holiday cruise. I hope to do another one in the near future.

Excellent ship, excellent food, excellent destinations and really friendly crew. Would definitely recommend highly, we will be cruising again with Holland and America and would definitely sail on the Nieuw Statendam.

We had read that the Holland American Line is very good. The Nieuw Statendam was excellent. The entertainment was brilliant, service, food and general ambience was very good. We had a wonderful holiday and couldn’t fault anything

A fantastic 14 day cruise of the Adriatic on board Holland America’s Nieuw Statendam was the main highlight sandwiched between two nights in each of Athens and Rome. This is our eighth HAL ship all of which have a special customer friendly atmosphere, high levels of service and very comfortable facilities. The restaurants, particularly the main dining room are, to our taste, of very high quality. . A “busy” but interesting itinerary resulted in a great holiday. The booking and admin service from Iglu was excellent.

Wonderful cruise! When I did Holland America survey 5 stars for everything! What a shame we could not contact the taxi company. They do not have a central number, perhaps that should be looked into.

The ship was mostly beautiful, absolutely spotless throughout. The staff so caring, attentive and friendly but generally it was very much geared to the American market and was very informal for us. It's very noisy with music everywhere, the upper deck front lounge area (Crow's nest/commodore club area) feels like an 'elderly' home activity area and not a relaxing bar, viewing area. The Lido was excellent (better than the MDR) and food very good. The ship's company were great but we didn't like much of the other entertainment sadly. On this occasion the ports absolutely made the ship so overall we had a fabulous time.
