Celebrity XCel was a fabulous ship and the service was exemplary. The stateroom room (Aqua Class) was superb - very comfortable with plenty of storage and the service assistant was very helpful and discreet. My only comment would be that the balcony was not fully outside (like the Celebrity Solstice that we travelled on last year), but the idea of a downwards sliding upper window did go part of the way. The Blu Restaurant was fabulous in style, atmosphere and service. The Ocean View self service restaurant had lots of choice for most of the day. Overall we had a wonderful time and would certainly travel with Celebrity again.

Xcel is beautiful, interesting and a delight to sail in. The usual wonderful Celebrity crew make it such a special time for each individual by their time and service, they are outstanding. The design of the ship has taken the best bits of Apex and added spaces and activities which are unique. We loved it 🥰

The ship and the staff were excellent. We were disappointed by the actual ports as we found it impossible to enjoy the facilities without engaging in further travel to get us away from the dock areas. Our journey began with British Airways and the service provided was far short of that experienced in the past. The taxi transfer from the airport to the hotel was not available and it took considerable effort to obtain this after a long flight which proved very difficult and unsettling. Apparently the driver was not available and another company was employed to resolve the issue. This leads us to our hotel in Miami which we understood to be 4 star and by US standards we expected this to be of a decent quality. The photos did not reflect the hotel. When we arrived we were told two rooms had been booked and that we would receive the upgrade and better quality room. This did not occur the room was basic and something we would not return to, although the staff were helpful. We had a similar incident with regard to our taxi transfer back to the airport, having disembarked the ship at 9. 30 and the taxi did not arrive until 10. 30 even after our efforts to contact the company.
