State-of-the-art technology has become the norm on cruise ships, and as well as creating a seamless and exciting onboard experience, it can also be used to help keep guests and crew safe. P&O Cruises joins cruise lines including Royal Caribbean and MSC Cruises as they announce their My Holiday app. Designed to be used for everything from reservations and contactless payments to virtual queuing, guests can save time, plan ahead and stay safe during their time onboard. Keep reading to find out more about the P&O Cruises app.

P&O Cruises App
The all-new P&O Cruises' app is called My Holiday, and has been created to streamline your onboard experience. Simply download the app onto your mobile or tablet and start using it as soon as you get onto the ship. Whether you want to manage your entertainment bookings or dinner reservations, see how much you've spent or buy a Wi-Fi package, everything can be done at the touch of a button. While these are just the features which are currently available, there will be future additions to My Holiday as the app continues to be developed.
Onboard Safety
The My Holiday app isn't just useful for making bookings and managing your account when on your cruise. It's also designed to ensure that guests stay safe throughout their voyage, especially as UK cruises return onboard Iona and Britannia. This includes:
- Virtual Queuing- for onboard activities, such as dining, join the queue virtually. As well as saving you having to wait around outside while the team prepares your table, this also means that social distancing is easier to maintain, helping to keep guests and crew safe.
- Pre-Book Entertainment and Dining- as P&O Cruises return, some onboard activities, dining and shore excursions need pre-booking. Use the My Holiday app and book in advance to make sure you don't miss out.
- Virtual GP Service- feeling under the weather or just need some advice? With My Holiday you can access Sea Consult where a GP can help you, including video consultations if needed.
More Cruise Line Technology
It's not just P&O Cruises who have introduced handy apps and technology to help make your time onboard run smoothly. Royal Caribbean's Muster 2.0 gives guests the chance to check-in online, change their stateroom lighting from their phone and do the muster safety drill from the comfort of their cabin. As well as the MSC For Me app, MSC Cruises also have wearable technology which is used for contact tracing, payments and unlocking your cabin, while Princess Cruises' OceanMedallion turns a small device into everything from your keycard to your wallet and much more. Marella Cruises have also developed Cruise Control, an online hub where guests can do check-in, fill in their health questionnaire, book online excursions and more. You can read more about these advancements on our cruise ship technology blog.
