Well-travelled 50-ish lady! Likes the finer things in life but is willing to try new things!

What was your first impression of Disney Wish?

Wow! The Disney dream is 5-star. The Grand Hall Atrium is absolutely beautiful, and they even welcome each family by name as you step onboard!

What destinations did you visit during your cruise?

Our itinerary was a 7-night cruise and stay trip. We spent 4 nights at Disney's Animal Kingdom followed by a 3-night cruise departing from Port Canaveral to Nassau in the Bahamas and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.

Who would you recommend this ship to?

Mainly families, as it is Disney, however, it is also wonderfully suited for adults—especially 'Disney Adults' (and there are lots of them!). The adult-only areas on the ship are lovely and offer a tranquil retreat.

Did you have a chance to see multiple cabin types? What were they like, and what’s one insider tip you’d like to share?

We were only able to view our own cabin, which was a Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with a Balcony. It is perfect for a family because it features a separate WC as well as a main bathroom, making getting ready in the morning a breeze!

Did your accommodation have enough storage space for a full 7-night cruise?

Yes, there was plenty of storage space. However, there are lots of shelves rather than drawers, so I would highly recommend packing cubes to keep everything organised!

How was the noise inside your accommodation? Are there any areas you advise avoiding for those selecting their own cabin?

There was no noise at all where I stayed. However, I would advise guests that Deck 10 might experience some noise due to its proximity to the shows and upper deck activities.

If you could only eat in one complimentary restaurant for the whole trip, which one would you choose, and what’s one must-try dish you recommend?

Dining on Disney is amazing! You eat across three different themed A La Carte restaurants on a rotational basis (1923, Worlds of Marvel, and Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure). What’s fantastic is that your serving team rotates with you, so they get to know all your preferences! All three venues are completely unique and offer incredible dining experiences.

What about the speciality dining on Disney Wish?

While we didn't eat in the speciality venues, Palo Steakhouse is an adults-only restaurant where I believe the steaks are to die for! There is also Enchanté, which is French-inspired—offering a set menu for around $55, or you can choose to dine à la carte and pay per dish.

If you had a drinks package, would you recommend it?

Yes, I would definitely recommend it!

For more information on the drinks packages and inclusions available with Disney Cruise Line, check out our detailed guide! A great way to enhance your onboard experience, it’s always worth considering taking advantage of these offers when planning your magical voyage on Disney Wish.

What was the most surprising or under-the-radar activity that a first-time cruiser would miss?

The Disney shows are spectacular! We saw three in the main Walt Disney Theatre—one was a medley of classic Disney characters and songs, one was The Little Mermaid, and one was Aladdin—all 5-star quality! They also host fantastic deck parties, including the Pirate Party with fireworks at sea and the Halloween Party.

What was the vibe of the pool deck onboard?

It was a lively, energetic party atmosphere with plenty of fun for everyone!

Did you check out the kids’ facilities available onboard? What were the highlights?

The kids' facilities are a true highlight and genuinely the best I have ever seen at sea! There are massive spaces customized for each age group:

  • It's a Small World Nursery (6 months to 3 years): Chargeable nursery service providing top-tier care.
  • Disney's Oceaneer Club (ages 3–10): Kids can even slide down from the Grand Hall straight into the club! It features loads of themed areas from Star Wars to Marvel, Disney Princesses, and interactive lab spaces.
  • Edge (ages 11–14): A dedicated tween hangout with computer areas, artistic zones, and traditional games.
  • Vibe (ages 14–17): A cool teen lounge area equipped with gaming setups and chill-out spaces.
  • The Hideout (ages 18–20): A unique venue specifically tailored for young adults, which I haven't seen on any other cruise line!

Which destination was the biggest surprise, and why?

Castaway Cay! Disney’s private island is huge, featuring white sandy beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters—it is absolute paradise.

Castaway Cay

For those who prefer to explore independently, what’s the best thing to do within walking distance of the dock at your favourite destination?

In Nassau, Bahamas, you can easily walk straight into town from the dock to explore the local shops and markets. On Castaway Cay, there is a fantastic 5km walk/run track that takes you past all the island's highlights—and you even get a medal at the end if you complete it!

What was disembarking like?

Super easy! There were no queues when checking in at port. Port disembarkation was very good, especially if you checked out pre-8:00 AM. After that, some of the group had minor delays waiting for lifts, but sending your luggage ahead the evening before leaves you with only hand luggage to disembark smoothly.

Compared to other cruise experiences, what makes this one stand out? Where could it improve?

Disney excels as a 5-star family cruise line with unparalleled kids' clubs, rotational family dining, and world-class entertainment. Where it could improve is adding a complimentary adults-only à la carte restaurant, as the main themed restaurants can be quite noisy with live entertainment, making quiet conversation a bit challenging.

What’s one bit of advice you would give someone booking this exact cruise that they won’t find in a brochure?

Soft drinks are included in your fare PLUS soft-serve ice cream! As an insider tip: you can create your very own delicious Coke float at the self-serve stations by mixing free fountain Coca-Cola with soft-serve vanilla ice cream—yummy!

What's your one-sentence summary of your experience?

Best ever!

FINAL RATING: 10 / 10
