Iglu Cruise’s Head of Content Operations spent a magical day exploring Disney Dream
Cruising is undoubtedly one of the most rewarding ways to travel the world right now, with cruises inviting you to explore some of the most exciting destinations around the world, from the Caribbean and the Mediterranean to Alaska, Asia, and beyond. When cruising, you’ll have the chance to travel in complete comfort, wanting for nothing, while you enjoy fantastic food and engaging entertainment, and make lasting memories.
If you’re browsing Iglu Cruise’s latest cruise deals and wondering what it’s like onboard Disney Dream, you should check out this cruise review from Alex, Iglu Cruise's Head of Content Operations. Recently, he visited Disney Dream with Disney Cruise Line, spending a day aboard the ship. Below, he's shared his expert opinion on this incredible experience, along with insider tips to keep in mind when you embark on an adventure like this yourself.
What was your first impression of Disney Dream?
The first thing that hit me was the smell, in a good way! The ship atrium where you arrive smells of Disney - instant happy memories! All of the little Disney touches start the moment you set foot on the ship. You could search for hidden Mickeys for your whole cruise and still spot some which you've missed before.

Who would you recommend this ship to?
The obvious answer would be families, but honestly, I think that everyone would love this ship. It would be impossible not to be won over by its warmth and magic.
Did you have a chance to see multiple cabin types? What were they like, and what’s one insider tip you’d like to share?
We saw suites and standard staterooms. I think the inside cabin offers great value. You get a virtual porthole to give it an outside feeling, and there are so many public areas to spend time, you'll only use the cabin for sleeping!

Did your accommodation have enough storage space for a full 7-night cruise?
Yes, cupboards felt generous.
How was the noise inside your accommodation?
The only noise we noticed was the Disney tunes playing in the background - joyful!
If you could only eat in one complimentary restaurant for the whole trip, which one would you choose?
I would love to go for dinner at the Royal Palace. The theming was spot on, and the menu looked delicious.

What was the most surprising or under-the-radar activity that a first-time cruiser would miss?
Watching Disney films by the pool on the deck. I would love to snuggle up under the stars and watch some films with my kids.
What was the vibe of the pool deck onboard?
Family-friendly!

Did you check out the kids’ facilities available onboard? What were the highlights?
The kids' clubs were wonderful spaces. Bursting with Disney characters and charm. The highlight was the outdoor space for teenagers. It is tucked away from the rest of the ship and includes pools and places to chill out.
Compared to other cruise experiences, what makes this one stand out? Where could it improve?
It is full of Disney magic at every turn - the attention to detail is truly impressive.

A touch of magic everywhere you look!
What’s one bit of advice you would give someone booking this exact cruise that they won’t find in a brochure?
Make sure you explore all of the adults-only spaces. They are wonderful and relaxing, away from the livelier areas.
