Marella Explorer Reviews
View Cruise DealsThis was my first time on a Marella Cruise, having been on Celebrity, Virgin Voyages and MSC, my expectations were quite low but boy was I wrong. The Ship is clean, staff are great, food is excellent main restaurant is the buffet market place is buffet with plenty of choice. You have Mediterranean at the back of the ship great at lunch as pasta cooked to order worth 10 min wait. In the pizza selection 3 different ones each day for you to help yourself. Panini of the day along with jacket potatoes, salads. The shake shack next to pool area hotdogs and burgers, chicken, boxed salads, plenty of fruit and healthy snacks available here and in the market place. Additionally choice of 3 additional speciality restaurants included (Vista, Piccadilly and Latitude) optional 3 more at a cost, (certainly not required by us as very happy with standard choice. I didn't like the soft drinks from the machines and luckily had premium drinks package allowing drinks poured from a can, premium also includes branded drinks, alcoholic drinks. The shows superb and the team should be in the West End Shows in London.
Had a excellent time, all staff very friendly, courteous and efficient.
First cruise for us as a family and it did not disappoint. The staff were fantastic. Highly recommended! 10/10 for everything.
Great staff, destinations, food and evening entertainment. The 1 trip we went on to Gibraltar rock was well organised.
From start to finish everything went smoothly. Even at the airports! Had the best week on Marella Explorer the first time on this ship. The food was excellent and the drinks superb. The staff were amazing as ever. Will definitely be booking again on this ship. If you want a quite ship with very few children go in June. More families arrived on the 30 the June as the summer holidays start in Ireland and Scotland.
Very relaxed. Friendly crew. The food good. Good destinations.
Small extremely friendly ship. The staff have always got a smile and work so hard to give you a special holiday. All passengers seem respectful to each other and the entertainment team are professional and enthusiastic. Great shows every night. Our 5th Marella cruise and would highly recommend if you want a friendly informal cruise visiting great ports.
I was extremely disappointed with my Cruise on the Explorer as the reason I booked it was to go to Sorrento , I booked the trip and it wasn't until we Boarded the coach to leave for Sorrento they told us that the roads were closed and the coach was unable to get to Sorrento, no other explanation was given , I was bitterly disappointed and shocked to hear that at such short notice and I had been so looking forward to going, the replacement was given to Salerno which was very poor , this completely dampened . my enjoyment of the rest of my Cruise and has certainly deterred me from booking a future Marella Cruise.
The cruise was just to our liking. The staff were amazing especially Johnsen and his team in Latitude 53 plus Ram and his team keeping our cabin neat and tidy. Regards our cabin, it could do with some artwork to enhance to decor. The itinerary was the reason we chose this cruise and the ports of call did not disappoint, except for maybe Guadeloupe.
Overall a good cruise although the cabin was a bit tired as was some of the ship in places.
