Enjoyed our cruise, felt the spa could have been more cooperative booked a 7 day spa entry but had to be used all in one go, as on board for 16 days we could have spread it over that period but the manager would not allow it? The captain was great and informed us everyday. The ship is getting tired but was cleaned very well. the smoking areas need to be looked at too.

We had problems with the toilet in our cabin, the first morning we woke up with sewage overflowing onto our bathroom floor. We reported problems with the toilet 5 times. Not once did they apologise for the inconvenience we were caused. My husband had his leg cut on a sunlounger, he reported it. No investigation was done and there was no apology.

Had a great time, food and drink was plentiful staff very friendly. The ship was clean and well ran, the only problem was getting a sun bed on sea days, there didn’t seem to be enough for the amount of people.

Clean ship, staff great. Great entertainment. Activities a bit childish! Food delicious, especially Italian.Tribute bands would be better than ‘Unity’ I thought it was karaoke!

Value for money was very good, nice vessel and well maintained. Thing its the part of the world but the push for tips on the excursions was a little tiresome especially when asking for separate tips for driver, guide and tour guide, considering the cost of excursions cruise companies should make checks to ensure a reasonable wage is paid to those employed. In silver service choice has certainly gone down in standard and feel the 'always available' is over used and a cop out, portion sizes have certainly reduced, maybe that's a good thing..Where Marella do seem to get it right is that their crew's always have a smile for the passengers, well in the eyes in these days, and do appear to be happy in their roles, always happy to provide those little extras that make the holiday mood lighter, towel animals, finding an iron etc..

It was a bit like a floating Butlins; there wasn't enough to do during the day if bingo by the pool wasn't your thing; not enough live music; restaurant food was disappointing (like canteen food) but not as disappointing as the service - impossible to get a coffee after the meal; no drinks service for the outside movie; fine dining options too limited- especially since it was the only way to get good food or service; lots of chipped & cracked crockery being used; the staff don't pick up litter! I resent paying restaurant prices to have a bottle wine in our room & when it was delivered there was no corkscrew or wine glasses. We won't be going with Marella again.

Staff/crew were welcoming and friendly. A good variety of restaurants. The international meals didn't taste authentic and lacked flavour. The cabin was very nice but location was terrible. Sounded as if I was near the engine room and there was a lot of noise throughout the night which meant and I hardly slept. Unfortunately, I didn't take part in any activities or entertainment on the ship as I was unwell and suffering from seasickness.

Extremely rocky and noisy..never felt motion as much as on this ship. Not sure if stabiliser’s were not engaged/ not working or something out of sync with engines etc. travelled on discovery one month earlier also to Caribbean and it was a much smoother trip. Also lack of menus in bars app is ok but extremely limited drinks . Hardly any cocktails to choose from. Maybe a list of cocktails in cabin upon arrival of you do not want to bring back menus. Would not travel on explorer 2 again

Enjoyed the cruise, a bit dissatisfied as only visited two ports the second week having stopped at Montegobay overnight done to many sea days.

Set menus in the dining room were not for us so most of the time we used the buffet area instead. Food was just about warm at best. Staff did not understand what they were serving. A lot of the time, the dishes bore no resemblance to their description and did not have the correct ingredients. A simple thing like toast,should be cooked on both sides not a poor suntan on one side and not cooked at all on the other. And served on an ice cold plate. No fresh milk on the ship at all if you are in Port every other day then there is no excuse for only using UHT milk. We booked a suite partly so we would have priority luggage and a coffee machine. We landed at 2pm and the wrong luggage arrived at about 9.30pm and our correct luggage at about 11.30. The Lavazza coffee machine was great but we were only allowed 2 coffee pods a day n matter how much we asked.
