Ruby Princess Reviews
View Cruise DealsLovely hotel in San Francisco, Transfers wasn’t great no driver waiting at the airport had to share a taxi with other people as our driver was stuck in traffic. Had a great time in San Francisco. Taxi was late picking us up to take us to the cruise terminal. Ship was lovely, cabin was really nice, staff were great. Food was ok. Excursion to pearl harbour was a rip off and not enough time there, the city tour was not a city tour, No Taxi to go back to airport we was put on a princess coach but wasn’t informed this was going to happen. All in all we enjoyed our trip
Ruby Princess ocean view stateroom on deck 8 was in great location for entertainment venues and restaurants the ship was in great condition
Overall very good. Staff very efficient. Maybe selection in buffet not as e xstensive as other princess ships.
Ruby Princess is a great ship, although parts need a refurbishment. The staff worked hard & were friendly. We found the food mostly very good, although the drinks were expensive. The Hawaiian Ambassadors really made our Hawaiian cruise, well done Princess for having them on board for all things Hawaiian!
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday . . . Iglu organised a wonderful package with a great itinerary from Las Vegas to San Francisco followed by the cruise to Hawaii. The hotels and the transfers were all great. We liked that the Ruby Princess's public areas were easy to locate on decks 6+7, and 15+16. The entertainment/ activities crew were amusing (we spent many of our evenings doing a good variety of quizzes in the Explorers Lounge where the bar and waiting on staff were fabulous!) The Enrichment Talks on each sea day were interesting and informative, but the variety of daily activities were rather limited and quite specific to the "Hawaiian Cruise theme". Our well serviced inside stateroom on Deck 10 was spacious with great storage. The "Walk in" Da Vinci restaurant was welcoming and serving staff were helpful and friendly. One dislike was the need to "get there when it opened" as, although we are sociable people, we like to eat as a couple rather than on a shared table. There weren't many tables for 2 available at the time we like to eat. We would have perhaps been better selecting a "Fixed Time Dining" when making our original booking. Generally, the food in the "Buffet" Horizon Court (as well as in the restaurant) lacked the flavour we were expecting, especially when we chose a "World Cuisine" meal, however when we booked in Sabatinis Italian (with surcharge to our package) on Deck 16, everything was delicious.
Brilliant crew onboard. Lovely food. The decor in the cabin and some public areas are looking tired. We had the Princess Plus package which we felt suited us as wifi was included. If you enjoy trivia quizzes you will like this ship, otherwise the daily items did not offer much sparkle. There was always a great hype at Effy jewelers - and they have some nice items at very high prices. The ship is very much geared to guests going on Princess Shore Excursions. There is no information offered by the ship if you want to go off for a walk on your own. You best Google things yourself before hand.
Loved the ship and crew were amazing. Plenty to do on board. 5 days at sea maybe bit too. long. I went with no expectations but unless you're super fit, mobile extremely techno savvy and/or wealthy to do the excursions stopping at the islands coukd be disappointing. Any illusions of Polynesian dancing, sea, sand and bend beach 'alohas' are a misnoma.
Wonderful ship with an unforgettable itinerary. The food was of the highest standard with regular changes to the menu. The service we received from all members of staff was exemplary. We loved all of the entertainment both in the main theatre and around the ship. Our stateroom was clean, comfortable with ample storage. Highly recxommended.
Over all good
The ship was the perfect option for us, plenty of bars and areas to relax. The food was varied and excellent and the crew and entertainment were brilliant. Would definitely recommend this ship to all that want a relaxing experience without the frills and thrills of slides and rides you find on the larger ships.
