The Royal Navy Dockyard at the western tip of Bermuda is a massive historic fortress transformed into a vibrant cultural and shopping hub. Originally built in the early 19th century as the "Gibraltar of the West," its limestone ramparts and iconic twin-clock towers now house the National Museum of Bermuda, high end boutiques, and local craft markets. Wander through the expansive stone fortifications, swim with dolphins at Dolphin Quest, or enjoy waterfront dining, all while your cruise ships tower over the historic quayside.
Ponta Delgada offers unspoilt, lush landscapes and terracotta rooftops, as well as a truly stunning coastline. It has quickly become popular for the breathtaking scenery and for its hot springs, though you won't find massive crowds flocking to the Azores, making it perfect for unrivalled relaxation. Take a stroll around the Old Town centre, or enjoy a romantic tour by horse-drawn carriage. During the summer, you may also spot whales off the coast.
Whether you’re looking to top up your tan on the beach with shops and restaurants just a short walk away, or looking to explore fascinating museums and ancient castles, La Coruna offers attractions for everyone. This trendy and modern city features a busy hub in the centre with an abundance of dining and shopping, as well as unique moments such as the Tower of Hercules. The ship is lovely but clearly dated and needs to be updated, it is small but quite a nice feel.
Cabin was small and basic but ideal for me as I hardly spend anytime in the cabin. Cleaning was obvious everywhere, and staff were lovely, friendly and helpful.
Restaurants were ok, food in main dining was reasonable, buffet was cold and there was not enough seating.
Excursions were ok but some were not worth what they cost.
Lots to do on board.

On Royal Caribbean cruises, dining options include traditional dining with set times (around 6:00 PM for early and 8:00 PM for late), flexible My Time Dining (usually 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM), specialty restaurants with variable reservation-based times, and extended hours for buffet and casual dining venues to accommodate varied schedules. Keep in mind that specifics can change, so check the cruise line's website or contact customer service for the latest information.
Royal Caribbean strives to accommodate various dietary requirements for their guests. They offer a range of dining options to cater to different dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and other specific dietary restrictions. When making a reservation or prior to your cruise, it's recommended to inform Royal Caribbean of your dietary requirements so they can make the necessary arrangements and provide you with suitable meal options. Their main dining rooms, specialty restaurants, and buffet areas often have options that cater to different dietary preferences.
Generally, Royal Caribbean guests have a luggage allowance comprising checked and carry-on bags. Checked bags usually have a weight limit of around 50 pounds or 23 kilograms each, with varying allowed quantities. Carry-on bags can include personal items, medications, and valuables, and are typically brought to staterooms. Special items like pushchairs and medical equipment might be allowed. Baggage policies can change, so it's advisable to refer to Royal Caribbean's official website.
Royal Caribbean features a versatile "Wear What You Want" approach for most of its cruises. While formal wear is optional, smart-casual attire is common for evenings. The cruise line encourages self-expression in attire while ensuring respectful dressing in public areas.
Iglu Cruise has a team in place to provide necessary assistance to make your holiday run smoothly. If anyone in your party requires medical or mobility assistance, notify your Cruise Specialist at the time of booking or as soon as possible if circumstances change after booking. The Special Assistance Team will email a form 6-8 weeks before departure, which must be completed and returned.
Travel Requirements
All passengers (including all children), should hold their own full 10-year (5 years for children) British Citizen (GBR) passport. The passport should be valid for at least 6 months past your expected return date to the UK, as this is often a criteria for entry to certain countries.
Royal Caribbean strongly recommends that all guests consider purchasing travel insurance to protect themselves against unexpected events that could disrupt their travel plans, such as trip cancellations, medical emergencies, baggage loss, or travel delays.

Wander through the expansive stone fortifications, swim with dolphins at Dolphin Quest, or enjoy waterfront dining, all while your cruise ships tower over the historic quayside.
Housed within the massive limestone walls of the Keep at the Royal Naval Dockyard, a visit to the National Museum of Bermuda is a journey through five centuries of island history. You can explore the elegantly restored Commissioner’s House, which features the breathtaking "Hall of History" mural, or wander through old gunpowder magazines filled with shipwreck treasures and maritime artifacts. The fort’s elevated ramparts offer some of the best panoramic views in Bermuda, overlooking the turquoise waters of the Great Sound and the massive cruise ships docked just below the fortifications.
Clock Tower Shopping Mall
Housed within a majestic 19th-century naval warehouse, a visit to the Clocktower Mall combines historic British architecture with a modern Bermudian shopping experience. As you walk beneath its iconic twin towers one telling the time and the other the tide, you’ll find a bright interior filled with polished wood floors and high ceilings. The mall is a treasure trove of local craftsmanship, featuring everything from high end jewellery and Bermuda cedar woodwork to the island's famous colourful linens and specialty rum cakes, making it an essential stop for finding an authentic piece of the island to take home.
Dolphin Quest Bermuda
A visit to Dolphin Quest Bermuda offers a rare opportunity to connect with marine life within the historic stone lagoons of the National Museum of Bermuda. Rather than a traditional show, the experience focuses on interactive encounters where you can touch, feed, and even swim alongside Atlantic bottlenose dolphins under the guidance of professional trainers. Set against the backdrop of the Royal Naval Dockyard's massive limestone ramparts, it is widely considered one of the island's premier family attractions, combining hands on fun with a strong emphasis on marine mammal conservation and education.
