Coral Princess Reviews
View Cruise DealsExcellent ship , exceeded expectations. Well maintained clean . Excellent service . Food very good . Steward was excellent didn’t impose .
Coral is a very nice ship with a lot of nice touches but was staring to look a bit tired in certain areas including the cabins. The crew were friendly and helpful and the food was generally very good. The sanctuary was disappointing especially as there were a lot of beds which had no shade available and the was no breeze as it was, unusually, at the stern. So people permanently occupied the tables and chairs in the shade. This meant we had to often go and seek shelter elsewhere on the ship. However overall we had good enjoyable cruise.
March 2025 we had a 25 night cruise from Fort Lauderdale to LA, via Aruba, Panama Canal transit, Panama, Costa Rica, Chiapas, Huatulco and Puerto Vallarta. Ship was excellent as were all of the staff, friendly and helpful as always. Quality of food and drink were very good standard and as a coeliac I would give them 8/10 for catering for a gluten free diet. That said, if I asked for any foods to be checked or exchanged for a GF option, staff went out of their way to help. Cabin was clean and comfortable and the Coral Princess was clean and tidy in all of the public areas, pools, bars and restaurants. Our second cruise with Princess and we are already discussing our next.
The size of the ship was good , Excursions were bit expensive. Food very good , Beds needed new mattress .
I found the pre-cruise admin quite difficult to negotiate. There were frequent reminders to print boarding passes and luggage tags but it proved impossible. Embarkation was easy. Our cabin was nice & our steward was excellent. The Horizon buffet was very good with plenty of choice. The walk-in restaurant was lovely but a couple of the desserts were not too good . . . flambeed bananas & crepe suzette. The waiters/waitresses were charming and efficient. The drinks package seemed expensive but over all it worked well. The shore excursions were VERY expensive & we 'did our own thing' when we went ashore at a fraction of the cost, costing as little as $ 25-35. The destinations were good and the daily lectures about each place were very interesting ( and witty ) The activities & entertainment were varied and of a high standard. We sometimes found it a bit confusing navigating our way around the ship and would have appreciated a few more directional signs. The pool area was very pleasant and clean. We loved the cocktails and ice cream ! Overall a most pleasant holiday experience.
Beautiful ports Wonderful service Excellent crew services Overall ship appears dated and in need of a makeover Entertainment poor Crew appreciation rate on the steep side especially when gratuity rate had been added to most services. Boarding and disembarkation procedure could be improved to avoid long queues
We had an amazing trip sailing through the Panama Canal - quite an experience. A commentary was given during the transit by the Shore Excursions Manager and it was good to have the extra knowledge. This trip included a lot of sea days due to the distance travelled but the weather was beautiful, the sea was calm and there was plenty to do on board. Cabins are looking a bit tired but were well serviced and kept clean everyday. We found the food to be very good and although we ate mostly in the main dining room the food in the buffet, especially in the evening was very good and varied. Enjoyed all the ports except for Puerto Chiapas as there was very little to do there and the excursions weren't particularly tempting. All in all a great trip. The only down side was an outbreak of Norovirus which I sadly succumbed to - it was the second outbreak this year on Coral Princess. Staff worked hard to contain it but we felt that more could have been done to ensure guests sanitized/washed their hands when entering the eating venues - many people just strolled in ignoring the facilities available
We spent on the Coral Princess over 2 weeks and we are really impressed how good shape she is. Very well renovated so doesn’t look tired at all ( it’s old ship which was renovated few years ago). Lovely staff, delicious food and everything else was perfect.
While slightly smaller than ships we have sailed on recently we found Coral Princess to be rather lovely. Although older she was light & airy. Her crew/staff could not be faulted. We very much enjoyed the incoming entertainment Even though the ship was practically full we always found a seat in the bars or pretty much anywhere. Our favour bar, Crooners, is in serious need of new furniture. The chairs are threadbare and pretty uncomfortable. What a shame for the best in bar entertainment on board - in my opinion. Access to the pool from the upper decks weren’t as easy as some ships, but that is in the build. Both pools were really too deep for non-swimmers and while life jackets were available it’s not really what people want. Just a foot shallower would have been good for all. We were disappointed with the one excursion we took but have previously found Princess excursion to be over priced and sometimes disappointing. We liked that the atrium lifts only served the atrium decks instead of disappearing into a black hole. We would choose her again with a desired itinary
Coral princess was a smaller ship for Panama canal cruise. This made our deck 5 cabin in a good positiion for restaurants and only a short wait for lifts to buffet on 14.
