we had a lovely time on this ship crew were lovely

27 Sep 2026
Britannia is a nice ship, clean, excellent staff and really good food. I was booked in for a week to the Norwegian Fjords, unfortunately, the first stop was cancelled due to poor weather but the other three ports were well worth getting off. No tender boats, so getting off the ship was easy for all with gangplanks catering for all abilities.
Site seeing in the local ports was available also ship tours could be booked but expensive. I did one organised tour which I throughly enjoyed, it was a trip to see Manafossen waterfalls in Stavanger. This trip is aimed at very fit and able people. After a hour and a half coach trip, with an excellent tour guide pointing out places of interest on the way and giving you an insight to life in Norway. We arrived at the bottom of steep climb, we scrambling over large rocky steps, with chain rails to aid you up and down. Walking boots advised. Once up the site was fantastic. Careful decent and back on the coach, back to ship.
Norway is a beautiful, clean and scenic country and I can’t wait to visit again.
Britannia is a large ship of 3647 guests and 1350 crew, with plenty going on, shops, theatre shows, movies, talks, dancing and great food. One thing that was annoying only the lido bar was open in the day which meant you had to go to Costa, or pool bar to get drinks which wasn’t necessary near to where you were. You could use these bar areas for relaxing, playing cards and the also did talks and dance classes in these areas.
Another annoying thing I booked one night in the speciality restaurant at an extra charge, it was advertised as dinner with a wine pairing. But unfortunately, it’s not a wine pairing that goes with your meal, as I had ordered a fish starter and main and was given red wine with my lobster. I asked if I could swap it for a white wine and was told I couldn’t. Again I chose cheese for dessert and couldn’t have port instead of dessert wine. If I had known it wasn’t a true wine pairing I wouldn’t have bothered I would have ordered the wine I liked by the glass. Flexibly was very lacking.
On the whole the cruise was wonderful, meet some amazing people as at the last minute I had to travel on my own. There was a solo traveller meet up in the mornings and evenings, not hosted by P&O but they told you were to meet. However, it would have been nicer if P&O had arranged for part of a bar or coffee lounge set aside for these meet-ups. It would have made it easier for people to feel comfortable. Having had to travel on my own and meeting up with such a wonderful group of people men and women from all over the uk I would be happy to travel on my own again.

Peninsular Club loyalty discounts apply to purchases of all Drinks Packages both via My P&O Cruises and on board
Classic and Deluxe Drinks Packages entitle guests to a 20% discount on drinks not included in their package or ordered above the 15 alcoholic drinks limit. Drinks that qualify for the 20% discount are shown in the 20% Discount Offer table. Discount is applied against the full menu price
Terms of Use:
Pre-Cruise purchases of Drinks Packages must be made at least 3 days before the departure date of your cruise
Drinks Packages purchased pre-cruise can be cancelled no later than 3 days before departure. In this event, a full refund will be applied to the credit/debit card used to make the purchase
Drinks Packages purchased on board may not be cancelled once purchased
P&O Cruises reserves the right to refuse service of alcoholic drinks to guests who appear under the age of 18 or 21
Drink selections and service hours are limited to each on board venue’s menu and operating hours
All bottles and cans will be served opened
For cruises starting outside the UK, Drinks Packages sold on board may be subject to a local tax. These charges will be applied to the price of a Drinks Package at the point of purchase
Individual drinks included in a Drinks Package are subject to availability. P&O Cruises may substitute any drink(s) included in a Drinks Package for an alternative product of comparable or greater value. No refunds will be given in the event a substitution is made
P&O Cruises reserves the right to make additional exclusions or further reasonable limitations to Drinks Packages at any time
In exceptional circumstances, P&O Cruises may withdraw Drinks Packages from a cruise entirely. In this event, a full or pro-rata refund will be offered to guests and P&O Cruises will not be liable for any other costs or expenses incurred
The price of Drinks Packages purchased on board may differ from the price payable pre-cruise. P&O Cruises is not obligated to reduce the on board price to match any price available in advance of your cruise. If the on board price is lower, partial refunds for Drinks Packages purchased in advance will not be given
P&O Cruises reserves the right to change the price of the drinks or the Drinks Packages at any time. If a Drinks Package has been booked and paid for, the price paid will not change

Other than Peninsular Club loyalty discounts, Drinks Packages may not be combined with any other programmes, promotions, or on-board specials offers, or applied toward speciality dining cover charges. They may not be used with any ‘Buy One Get One Free’ or multi-buy offers or used as part of any guest experiences (such as Wine Tastings, Cocktail Masterclasses or Spirit Masterclasses). The Classic Drinks Package also excludes spirits served in 50ml measures, wine served in 250ml measures and medium size Costa Coffee products. If your cruise ends in the UK, customs restrictions require that only non-alcoholic drinks are available once the ship has entered UK waters prior to disembarkation.
Withdrawal of Drinks Packages:
P&O Cruises may withdraw or suspend a guest’s Drinks Package at any time if, in the opinion of P&O Cruises a guest uses their Drinks Package contrary to these Terms and Conditions or if continuing to provide the guest with a Drinks Package would be detrimental to the health, safety and/or well-being of any guest or member of crew. Conduct that may result in a withdrawal or suspension of Drinks Packages includes (but is not limited to):
Tampering with or falsifying a Drinks Package sticker
Providing drinks ordered via a Drinks Package to other guests
Attempts to circumvent the limitations outlined above
Any other behaviour that is fraudulent, inappropriate, offensive or disruptive to other guests or crew
