Things to do
Ilıca Beach
Ilıca Beach is a beautiful 2-kilometer strip of fine white sand famed for its extraordinarily shallow, crystal-clear blue waters. Natural, warm mineral springs bubble up from the seabed, keeping the sea warm until late Autumn. It is popular among families due to its safety and resort-like ambiance, with adjacent local cafes, bars, and restaurants. Swimming and sunbathing are popular activities in the area, which is also close to Alacati's windsurfing locations.
Alaçatı
Alaçatı is a picturesque, upmarket Aegean village on Turkey's Çeşme peninsula, known for its small cobblestone streets, bougainvillea-covered stone buildings, and active nightlife. It was formerly a peaceful fishing village, but it has since evolved into a stylish, lively resort known for windsurfing, boutique hotels, Aegean cuisine, and high-end restaurants, often described as a charming, fashionable vacation. It has a postcard-perfect, "fairytale" atmosphere, with restored 19th-century Greek stone buildings. While romantic and quaint during the day, it comes alive in summer evenings.
Çeşme Castle
Çeşme Castle is a well-preserved 16th-century Ottoman fortress overlooking the marina. It houses a museum exhibiting local weapons, ceramics, and antique artefacts from the Battle of Çeşme. The Çeşme Museum, located inside the citadel, showcases regional artefacts from the Bronze Age and ancient antiquity, as well as weapons from the 1770 Battle of Çeşme. Walking along the medieval walls provides panoramic views of the marina, town, and sea, especially around sunset.
