Queen Mary 2 is a brilliant boat. I loved the promenade deck, the food, the variety, the comfort, the welcoming and ever attentive staff. A special shout out to our cabin steward, Vincent, but not forgetting Theodore our restaurant waiter who saved us from a near disaster.

Ship was spotless and elegant. Cabin the same and very comfortable. Very different layout to many cruise ships with most. activities based on lower decks so takes a little bit of time to find your way around as some areas also for specific categories of guests making the direct route inaccessible. Food and dining no better than many other ships we have been on and small buffet area which is highly congested on sea days. Service was fine but an added service charge on every drink and not the happiest or friendliest crew compared to other ships. Feels like stepping back in time when it comes to the music and entertainment which obviously works for many of the guests. No complaints but wouldn’t be a ship of choice for us in the future and we are both 60+.

Travel requirements

It is mandatory for all guests to have adequate travel insurance when they board their cruise. You will be asked to provide details of your insurance with Cunard before you travel. And we may ask you to show prooof of your insurance when you check-in. Please ensure that your insurance covers you for the following; A cruise holiday. The full length of the trip. All of the destinations you’re visiting – if in doubt, choose worldwide cover. When travelling with us, your insurance must include medical cover of £2 million minimum and cover for emergency evacuations and medical expenses related to Covid-19. Declare any pre-existing medical conditions and read each policy thoroughly to make sure you have the cover you need. If you are going on more than one holiday this year, consider choosing an annual or multi-trip policy to cover you long-term.
