Great cruise. I have been on Iona, Brittannia and Venturer and this is my favorite so far. I love the way the horizon restaurant is set out, it's very organized and not like a cattle market, as with the other cruise ships. .
The staff are all lovely.
Although the balconies are small, they are more private which is nice.
My only gripe with P&O is they use Tetley teabags and I only drink Yorkshire.
Will definitely look at another cruise on this ship.

On your cruise, you have two dining options - "Club Dining" and "Freedom Dining". If you book an Early Saver Fare/Late Saver, your dining time will be assigned and noted in your cabin upon embarkation. If you book a Select Fare, you can choose your dining time, but this option is not available on Iona, and only Freedom Dining is offered.
Freedom Dining allows you to dine at any time between 6:00 PM and 9:30 PM, and tables are available on a first-come-first-serve basis, with sizes ranging from two to eight people.
Club Dining, on the other hand, has a fixed seating plan with two sittings - either at 6:30 PM or 8:30 PM. The same table, waiters, and fellow diners will be reserved for you every night for the duration of your cruise. This option is not available on Iona.
P&O offer various meal options to accommodate the dietary requirements of their guests. The following diets can be accommodated on all ships: Vegetarian, Pescatarian (fish), Low/No fat, Low salt/No salt, Lactose intolerant/Dairy-free, Gluten/Wheat-free/Coeliac, Low cholesterol, Diabetic, and Kosher, and Vegan. If you need any of these dietary options, please contact the Customer Contact Centre before your sailing date. Once on board, make yourself known to the Headwaiter or Restaurant Manager to ensure that your dietary needs are met.
Cruises in and out of Southampton have no restriction on how much baggage you take, although please bear in mind that your cases must be stored within your cabin. For handling purposes, please ensure that each piece of luggage weighs no more than 23kg. When flying to/from the ship, both the charter and scheduled flight luggage restrictions vary. Please visit the Flights page of your Cruise Personaliser online to confirm. If your airline allowance is greater than 23 kilograms, we ask that no individual item of luggage weighs more than 23 kilograms, in order to be safely handled by the ship’s crew.
P&O has a relaxed dress code during the day but there is a dress code in effect from 6 pm in bars and restaurants for those over 18. There are two dress codes - Evening Casual and Black Tie. The Cruise Personaliser will inform you of the number of nights for each dress code during your trip, so be sure to check beforehand. Men should wear a buttoned shirt or polo for Evening Casual, and a tuxedo, dinner jacket, dark suit, national dress, or uniform for Black Tie. Women should wear smart separates for Evening Casual and cocktail dresses or ball gowns for Black Tie.
Iglu Cruise has a team in place to provide necessary assistance to make your holiday run smoothly. If anyone in your party requires medical or mobility assistance, notify your Cruise Specialist at the time of booking or as soon as possible if circumstances change after booking. The Special Assistance Team will email a form 6-8 weeks before departure, which must be completed and returned.
Travel Requirements
All passengers (including all children), should hold their own full 10-year (5 years for children) British Citizen (GBR) passport. The passport should be valid for at least 6 months past your expected return date to the UK, as this is often a criteria for entry to certain countries.
All UK guests are required to purchase comprehensive travel insurance for their P&O cruise holiday. The policy must provide medical and repatriation coverage of at least £2 million, including cover for emergency evacuations and COVID-19 related medical expenses. The insurance must also cover travel, cancellation, curtailment, and any existing medical conditions, either globally or at minimum in the countries being visited. Travel insurance documents will be checked at the terminal and must be valid for the entire trip. Boarding will be denied without proper insurance coverage, at the guest's expense.

Located in Angra do Heroísmo, Forte de São Sebastião was constructed as a demonstration of new coastal defence ideas in 1580 at the suggestion of architect Tomaz Benedito de Pesaro. The first major maritime fortification built in the city, it actually crosses fire with Fortress of São João Baptista, providing effective defence of Porto das Pipas (Pipas Port) – a vital seaport and anchorage for transit ships heading from destinations like India and Brazil to the Kingdom of Portugal.
Cathedral of Angra do Heroísmo
An impressive 16th century cathedral in Angra do Heroísmo, the Cathedral of Angra do Heroísmo is the largest religious institution in the archipelago and a stand-out landmark in the city today. Boasting a simple Portuguese Chã design with twin bell towers, parts of the cathedral were reconstructed following the 1980 earthquake. Interestingly, due to a lack of space when construction began, the church is orientated northwards, and not eastwards as was the tradition for medieval religious buildings.

Purchase and Availability:
Drinks Packages are available on cruises of 5 nights or longer
Drinks Packages can be purchased in advance of your cruise via My P&O Cruises or on board during the first 2 days of your cruise
If you purchase a Drinks Package on board, you will only pay for the day of purchase and the remaining days of your cruise
Drinks Packages must be purchased for the entire duration of your cruise
They cannot be purchased on a per-day basis
Classic and Deluxe Drinks Packages may only be purchased by adult guests
Adult guests are guests over the age of 18, or over the age of 21 if your cruise visits USA or UAE waters
This revised price came into effect on Tuesday 28th October 2025. Guests who have purchased a drinks package via My P&O Cruises prior to this date will have their price honoured.
Limits and Use:
The same Drinks Package must be purchased by guests aged over 18 years sharing a cabin
A complimentary Refresh Drinks Package will be provided to guests aged 17 or under where all adults travelling in the same cabin have purchased a Classic or Deluxe Drinks Package
Guests are limited to 15 alcoholic drinks in any 24-hour period starting from 6am
All other non-alcoholic drinks included in the drinks package are unlimited
P&O Cruises reserves the right to refuse the service of alcohol at any time in accordance with their policy for the Responsible Service of Alcohol. This requires bar staff not to serve guests they believe to be intoxicated
Only one drink may be ordered at a time
All drink orders must be at least 15 minutes apart
Guests can only use their own Drinks Package to order drinks. Sharing or transferring Drinks Packages is not permitted

P&O Cruises reserves the right to make additional exclusions or further reasonable limitations to Drinks Packages at any time
In exceptional circumstances, P&O Cruises may withdraw Drinks Packages from a cruise entirely. In this event, a full or pro-rata refund will be offered to guests and P&O Cruises will not be liable for any other costs or expenses incurred
The price of Drinks Packages purchased on board may differ from the price payable pre-cruise. P&O Cruises is not obligated to reduce the on board price to match any price available in advance of your cruise. If the on board price is lower, partial refunds for Drinks Packages purchased in advance will not be given

The Classic Drinks Package also excludes spirits served in 50ml measures, wine served in 250ml measures and medium size Costa Coffee products. If your cruise ends in the UK, customs restrictions require that only non-alcoholic drinks are available once the ship has entered UK waters prior to disembarkation.
Withdrawal of Drinks Packages:
P&O Cruises may withdraw or suspend a guest’s Drinks Package at any time if, in the opinion of P&O Cruises a guest uses their Drinks Package contrary to these Terms and Conditions or if continuing to provide the guest with a Drinks Package would be detrimental to the health, safety and/or well-being of any guest or member of crew. Conduct that may result in a withdrawal or suspension of Drinks Packages includes (but is not limited to):
Tampering with or falsifying a Drinks Package sticker
Providing drinks ordered via a Drinks Package to other guests
Attempts to circumvent the limitations outlined above
Any other behaviour that is fraudulent, inappropriate, offensive or disruptive to other guests or crew
Where P&O Cruises withdraws or suspends a Drinks Package under these provisions, no refunds will be given and P&O Cruises will not be liable to make any further payments to the guest(s) concerned.

Log in to My P&O Cruises up to three days before your holiday to buy your Refresh drinks package with a 10% discount! Or, if you’d rather wait until you’re on board, you can purchase your chosen package within the first two days of your cruise. If you wish to book one of P&O Cruises' All-Inclusive packages, you'll need to do this at the time of booking.
