Ship easy to find your way around.
Cabin was reasonably spacious except for bathroom which was tiny with a shower you could barely move in.
Our 2 night stay in Miami was disappointing as the hotel lacked good facilities and was shabby.
Our itinerary change meant an extra sea day
The staff on the ship were all excellent without exception and the staff seemed to be more relaxed than other ships we have sailed on.
Only downside was the disembarking day where the pick up time was 10am for a flight at 9pm which meant an extra cost of arranging an excursion. Which still meant arriving at 1pm. I feel the holiday package should of included a day pass to a hotel with transfer to airport.
Virgin flights departed on time and were reasonably comfy in Economy.

Couldn't fault any of the staff, what so ever, however a special shout out for our cabin staff Jayzyl and Berry who went the extra mile to accomodate us, make us feel welcome and decorate our cabin with balloons when they found out that we were celebrating a special occassion. Also mentions for Eric Glenn, Chandra, Denzil and Antonio for great service in Waves and Terrace Cafe buffet.
The House Select Drinks package, which was included within our cruise deal is well worth purchasing, if you are not a spirits drinker as wine and beer prices could easily build up on a longer voyage.
We thought that too much emphasis was made by Oceania to please guests on the world cruise, whilst leaving other guests a little left out.

Museo del Fin del Mundo
If you want to learn more about the city of Ushuaia, Museo del fin del Mundo is the perfect place to go. A living heritage museum that explores the history and culture of Ushuaia and the Tierra del Fuego archipelago, the End of the World Museum (which is its name in English) is home to numerous exhibitions that explore the native history of this region, the local fauna and flora, the traditions and customs of the people here, and even some of the shipwrecks that have happened here over the centuries. Found in parts of the National Bank building and Old Government House, these impressive buildings only serve to highlight the importance of the museum and its contents.

Also known as Casa Pena, this former private residence has served as the City Museum in Ushuaia since 2009; with an interesting selection of informative exhibits and historic items, this museum offers visitors a fantastic insight into what ordinary life was like in this city throughout the 20th century – which is when it was originally occupied by the Pena family.
Drake Passage - Cruising

The Drake Passage is an iconic body of water between the southern tip of South America and Antarctica, connecting parts of the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean. Despite this stretch of water being discovered by Spanish navigator Francisco de Hoces in 1525, the passage is named after Sir Francis Drake, an English explorer who utilised this body of water during his Raiding Expedition in the mid-16th century. While rough seas are something you’ll come across quite frequently when cruising the Drake Passage, you can rest assured knowing that the modern expedition-style ships you’ll be sailing on are well-equipped to deal with any troublesome weather. In 2019, a team of six explorers were actually able to row across the entirety of the Drake Passage; though, while you’re unlikely to see anyone rowing while you’re cruising, you will have the chance to observe a variety of seabirds, whales, and dolphins – all of which are often spotted by sailors crossing the Drake Passage. Falkland Islands Museum
Located in the historic dockyard of Port Stanley, the Falkland Islands Museum boasts a comprehensive collection of artefacts and historic items that explore the natural and cultural history of this archipelago. If you want to know more about the Falkland Islands, this is one of the best places in the world to spend some time. You’ll also find an interactive room that explores the stories of Falkland Islands residents during the Falklands War in 1982, highlighting the real impact of this conflict, as well as an area dedicated to the region’s maritime history.
Government House
Built in 1845, Government House is the home of the Falkland Islands’ governors and one of the most important landmarks in Port Stanley. Alongside being somewhere where Ernest Shackleton stayed during his famous Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition in the 1910s, and home to one of the world’s southernmost grape vines, Government House was also the site of a major battle during the 1982 invasion of the Falkland Islands, an event that kicked off the Falklands War, and where the surrender was ultimately issued.
Yorke Bay
Roughly four miles northeast of Port Stanley, Yorke Bay is a stunning destination to visit when spending some time in the Falkland Islands’ capital. Known internationally as a breeding ground for Magellanic penguins, a threatened species also found along the coast of Argentina and Chile, this is a fantastic place to see these incredible birds in their natural habitat. Interestingly, much of this area serves as an unplanned wildlife refuge, with Yorke Bay among several areas of coastline that were heavily mined during the Falklands War, making them unsafe for visitors. The island is free of landmines now, though, and you’ll be able to observe the wildlife and admire the stunning scenery of Yorke Bay from a safe distance.

A monumental example of neo-classical architecture in the heart of Montevideo, the Legislative Palace of Uruguay acts as the meeting place of the General Assembly of Uruguay, the seat of the legislative branch of the Uruguayan government, and a remarkable landmark to see when you visit. Built between 1904 and 1925, it was constructed to commemorate 100 years of Uruguayan independence.
Obelisk of Montevideo
Built in 1930 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first Constitution of Uruguay as a homage to the original members of the General Assembly, this three-sided structure stretches 40 metres up and is flanked by three bronze structures representing Law, Liberty, and Force. In 1983, it was the site of Rio de Libertad – the nation’s largest demonstration ever, demanding an end to the civil-military dictatorship in place at the time.
Palacio Salvo
Standing 95 metres tall, this stunning structure takes advantage of eclectic architectural designs to deliver one of the most remarkable buildings in Montevideo. Built with the intention of being a hotel in 1928, it’s now a mixture of private residences and office spaces – though tours of the building are available at select times during the day.
Punta del Este

La Mano de Punta del Este
A sculpture completed in 1982 by Chilean artist Mario Irarrazabal, La Mano (The Hand) has quickly become one of Uruguay’s most recognizable landmarks; depicting five human fingers emerging from the sands of Brava Beach, La Mano represents the dangers of drowning in the rougher waters of La Barra – which also make this a prime spot for surfing.
Museum of the Seas
Opened in 1996, this nautical natural history museum is one of the most interesting spots to visit in Punta del Este – though, it’s a little more than a stone’s throw from the beachfront. Here, you’ll find over 5,000 species of marine fauna, an impressive exhibit on history’s most famous pirates, and almost 40,000 specimens of insects in the Insectarium.
Casapueblo
Just 13km from central Punta del Este, Casapueblo is a stunning structure inspired by houses on the Mediterranean coast of Santorini and the nest of a red ovenbird – the national bird of Argentina. Constructed by, and once permanent residence of, Uruguayan artist Carlos Paez Vilaro, Casapueblo now hosts a hotel, a museum, and a restaurant among other amenities.

At the mouth of the Itajai River, Itajai is a unique city in southern Brazil and a prominent settlement when it comes to this nation’s colonial history. An important region for Portuguese settlers by the early 19th century, this city is also home to a substantial number of German immigrants and these European influences are clear throughout. Starting as a smaller parish church in the early 19th century, the church we see now was blessed as late as the 1970s – an impressive testament to the value of this landmark to the local community and nation as a whole.

Among the world’s most populous cities and the largest urban area by population outside of Asia, São Paulo is the financial capital of Brazil and a destination offering everyone an incredible adventure when they arrive. To say there’s a lot for you to enjoy when you’re in São Paulo would be an understatement and a half. A stone’s throw from the stunning sandy beaches of Praia Grande and Santos, and surrounded by stunning parks and hiking routes boasting breathtaking views, those of you wanting to spend some time in nature will have no trouble doing that while visiting this remarkable city. Beyond that, though, you’ll find all the attractions and historical landmarks you would expect in a city of this scale with such a vibrant history – having been founded by Jesuit priests in 1554. For culture vultures, the São Paulo Museum of Art and Catavento Museum are worth checking out when you arrive. São Paulo Cathedral, while a recent construction, is no less breathtaking than the other religious buildings in Brazil – not to mention the fact that it’s considered the fourth-largest neo-Gothic cathedral in the world. You’ll also find the Interlagos Circuit, home to the Formula One Brazilian Grand Prix, in the heart of the city; if you’re a racing fan, this is worth visiting whether it’s race day or not. Home to an abundance of everything, from restaurants and bars to museums and more, everyone will find something they enjoy when they visit São Paulo.

Catavento Museum
A modern interactive science museum in the heart of São Paulo, the Cavento Museum is an intriguing attraction to explore when visiting this incredible city. Housed in the unique Palacio das Industrias, an impressive building built between 1911 and 1924 that was once the seat of the Legislative Assembly in São Paulo, the museum features exhibits on the dinosaurs which once inhabited the region, human ingenuity, the universe, and more. It uses state-of-the-art virtual technology to enhance the experience, and you’ll find plenty of interesting things both within this museum and in the grounds around it.
Santos
A city just south of São Paulo, Santos is the perfect place for a beach day when you’re travelling to the financial capital of Brazil; located mostly on Ilha de São Vicente, it’s home to a series of stunning beaches and the world’s largest beachfront garden – a vibrant space stretching almost 6,000 yards along the coastline. Home to the Coffee Museum, a football memorial to some of history’s greatest soccer players, and historical landmarks like the Biquinha de Anchieta (an elaborate fountain monument), there’s plenty to enjoy if you’re looking for something a little different to São Paulo.
São Paulo Cathedral
Built on the site of São Paulo’s original church, which dates back to 1589, São Paulo Cathedral is a modern interpretation of a traditional Gothic cathedral and it stands today as the fourth-largest neo-Gothic cathedral in the world. An impressive two-spire structure that is over 300 ft tall at its highest point, the cathedral is decorated with cultural imagery of Brazilian produce and native animals, alongside traditional Catholic designs. With the original 1912 plans for the cathedral found during renovations, what we see today is a faithful representation of what the cathedral would’ve looked like upon completion over 100 years prior.

Sitting on the Costa Verde (Green Coast), Parati is a tourist hotspot known for its historical town centre, stunning section of coastline, and dramatic mountainous backdrop. Interestingly, the entire town is listed as a National Historic Landmark by IPHAN, with over 80% of the area being protected. The Cairucu Environmental Protection Area, for example, is an important remnant of the Atlantic Forest biome. Meanwhile, the Juatinga Ecological Reserve protects a peninsula and the traditional lifestyle of numerous villages along the coastline around Parati, and the Taimos Ecological Station monitors the marine ecosystem of the area and the nearby Ilha Grande Bay. A charming colonial town with a calmer atmosphere than Brazil’s other coastline settlements, Parati is the perfect place to soak in the sunshine and appreciate the stunning scenery surrounding you. Rest and relaxation are important to every holiday, and you’ll find plenty of that here.

Forte Defensor
Built in 1703 and equipped with six cannons, this fortress was constructed in an effort to defend the settlement’s important commercial warehouses. However, it was left in ruin for decades after the region’s economic decline. Reconstructed in 1822, it’s believed that this is where the first nucleus of the town Parati began. One of seven forts constructed around the harbour here, this is just one of two surviving fortifications.
Serra da Bocaina National Park
Created in 1971, this sprawling national park is approximately 104,000 hectares in size and home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including: pines, trumpet trees, palm trees, cats, sloths, monkeys, snakes, and birds. Several species of amphibians are also only known to be found in the park and the surrounding area, including the Bocaina dwarf frog and Bocaina big tooth frog.
Ilha Grande

A forest-covered island around 12km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Ilha Grande is the perfect destination for the explorers among you. It’s home to several well-maintained and well-signposted walking trails which will afford you the opportunity to admire the island’s incredible wildlife – of which, you’ll find everything from parrots and hummingbirds to monkeys – and stunning scenery. With roughly 63% of the island covered by the Ilha Grande State Park, and numerous smaller reserves in place protecting the flora, fauna, and traditional communities that reside here, 87% of the island has a protected status. While you won’t find too many attractions here, this is a great place to get in touch with nature and explore a unique environment that – in part, at least – is endangered.

Lopes Mendes
An extended palm tree-lined white-sand beach with crystal-clear waters, this beach is the definition of paradise and just one of the beaches you can take advantage of when you’re on Ilha Grande. Candido Mendes Prison
Now abandoned, this prison was once home to some of Brazil’s worst – until it was closed in 1994. Reachable by following a walking trail from Vila de Dois Rois, this prison is the setting for a whole host of escapee stories – with one of the most famous being Escadinho, who escaped via helicopter!
