As your boat glides through the dark, mirror like waters, you are surrounded by near vertical cliffs that rise thousands of feet, topped by the iconic, 1,692 metre Mitre Peak. You’ll sail past permanent glaciers and feel the "glacier spray" of massive waterfalls like Stirling Falls, which drop directly into the sea. Along the way, keep an eye out for local wildlife, including fur seals lounging on "Seal Rock," rare Fiordland crested penguins, and pods of playful bottlenose dolphins.

Scenic cruising in Doubtful Sound offers a vast, remote wilderness experience in Fiordland National Park, distinguished by its immense scale it is three times longer and ten times larger than its famous neighbor, Milford Sound. Known as the "Sound of Silence," the experience often includes a designated moment where the engines are cut, allowing guests to listen to nothing but birdsong and gushing waterfalls. The journey itself is an adventure, as it has no direct road access and requires a boat across Lake Manapouri followed by a bus trip over the Wilmot Pass. While cruising, visitors can spot unique wildlife like resident bottlenose dolphins, New Zealand fur seals, and the rare Fiordland crested penguin.

Dusky Sound is a secluded, pristine, and breathtakingly beautiful fiord in New Zealand's Fiordland National Park, with sheer, lush green cliffs, numerous waterfalls, and vast seclusion. Accessible exclusively by air or water, it provides a "true wilderness" experience with abundant animals such as seals, penguins, and dolphins. As one of the largest and most complicated fiords in the vicinity, it receives significantly fewer visitors than Milford Sound, providing profound, peaceful isolation.
