Soak in stunning harbour views, explore iconic landmarks, and experience the perfect blend of urban energy and beachside relaxation.
Arriving at Yorkeys Knob is a scenic introduction to Tropical North Queensland, where the turquoise waters of the Coral Sea meet the lush, emerald foothills of the MacAlister Range. As the primary gateway for large cruise ships visiting the region, the area serves as a vibrant launchpad for world-class adventures, from snorkelling the kaleidoscopic coral gardens of the Great Barrier Reef to gliding over the ancient rainforest canopy on the Skyrail. While many travellers head straight for the bustling heart of Cairns or the misty falls of Kuranda, there is a relaxed local charm to be found right at the boat club, where the salt air and the sight of kitesurfers dancing across the waves invite you to embrace the easygoing "Far North" lifestyle.
A vibrant harbourside city located in the picturesque Bay of Plenty in New Zealand, Tauranga is home to an array of historic and modern attractions, including the Tauranga Art Gallery, Waimarino Water & Adventure Park and the Fernland Spa. With so much to see and do, you’ll be spoilt for choice on what you experience during your time there!
Situated on New Zealand's South Island, Christchurch is known for rich culture, heritage and vibrant nightlife. Top attractions in Christchurch include the botanic gardens, Canterbury Museum and the Christchurch Tram.
A bustling city in New Zealand, Dunedin is situated on the South Island. With a mixed heritage of Maori and Scottish ancestors, along with unique Edwardian and Victorian architecture, it’s a unique place to visit whilst on a cruise. Top highlights in the city include Larnach Castle, the Dunedin Botanical Gardens and the Otago Museum.
Day 30
Dusky Sound (Scenic Cruising)
12 Apr 2028
Arrives at: 8 am, Departs at: 9 am (1 hours in port)
Cruise
Dusky Sound is a secluded, pristine, and breathtakingly beautiful fiord in New Zealand's Fiordland National Park, with sheer, lush green cliffs, numerous waterfalls, and vast seclusion. Accessible exclusively by air or water, it provides a "true wilderness" experience with abundant animals such as seals, penguins, and dolphins. As one of the largest and most complicated fiords in the vicinity, it receives significantly fewer visitors than Milford Sound, providing profound, peaceful isolation.
Scenic cruising in Doubtful Sound offers a vast, remote wilderness experience in Fiordland National Park, distinguished by its immense scale it is three times longer and ten times larger than its famous neighbor, Milford Sound. Known as the "Sound of Silence," the experience often includes a designated moment where the engines are cut, allowing guests to listen to nothing but birdsong and gushing waterfalls. The journey itself is an adventure, as it has no direct road access and requires a boat across Lake Manapouri followed by a bus trip over the Wilmot Pass. While cruising, visitors can spot unique wildlife like resident bottlenose dolphins, New Zealand fur seals, and the rare Fiordland crested penguin.
Scenic cruising through Milford Sound is an awe-inspiring journey into the heart of New Zealand’s Fiordland National Park. As your boat glides through the dark, mirror like waters, you are surrounded by near vertical cliffs that rise thousands of feet, topped by the iconic, 1,692 metre Mitre Peak. You’ll sail past permanent glaciers and feel the "glacier spray" of massive waterfalls like Stirling Falls, which drop directly into the sea. Along the way, keep an eye out for local wildlife, including fur seals lounging on "Seal Rock," rare Fiordland crested penguins, and pods of playful bottlenose dolphins.

Excellent ship crew very friendly and efficient ship cleanliness excellent. Cabin excellent well positioned for me and very quiet. 3159. The food in the main restaurant and ocean view excellent you could not fault any aspect of it. We did trips ever day it docked whether with celebrity or other agents and all were of high quality and well organised. The only comment I will make is that the disembarking at Auckland needs assessing as was totally chaotic and not well organised people were allowed off while they were still unloading cases = one jam packed terminal &frayed tempers.

This was my ninth Celebrity cruise, but my first on an Edge Class ship. It was superb.
The infinity balcony cabins are very spacious, comfortable and well equipped, and the en suite shower room is more spacious than on Solstice class. The cabins are also better sound-proofed.
The entire ship is smart and luxurious, with plentiful deck and public spaces.
Two things especially impressed me on the Edge - firstly the standard of service of all the crew, secondly the food. In all of the four inclusive dining rooms, and in the Oceanview buffet, the food was superb. Every meal was delicious.

Description
Dusky Sound is a secluded, pristine, and breathtakingly beautiful fiord in New Zealand's Fiordland National Park, with sheer, lush green cliffs, numerous waterfalls, and vast seclusion. Accessible exclusively by air or water, it provides a "true wilderness" experience with abundant animals such as seals, penguins, and dolphins. As one of the largest and most complicated fiords in the vicinity, it receives significantly fewer visitors than Milford Sound, providing profound, peaceful isolation.
The greatest way to see Dusky Sound is on a cruise. Sail through this secluded location to see endangered Fiordland crested penguins, fur seals, and dolphins. You will see hundreds of enormous, transient waterfalls, particularly when it rains. It boasts stunning, steep-sided fjords, hundreds of islands, and misty highlands.

Time at Port: from 3:30 PM to 5:15 PM (day Day 30)

As your boat glides through the dark, mirror like waters, you are surrounded by near vertical cliffs that rise thousands of feet, topped by the iconic, 1,692 metre Mitre Peak. You’ll sail past permanent glaciers and feel the "glacier spray" of massive waterfalls like Stirling Falls, which drop directly into the sea. Along the way, keep an eye out for local wildlife, including fur seals lounging on "Seal Rock," rare Fiordland crested penguins, and pods of playful bottlenose dolphins.
