Teeming with beautiful beaches, picturesque streets and rich history, Crete’s second largest city has seen many cultures throughout time. Because of this, you’ll find Roman, Byzantine, Venetian, Ottoman and many other influences in its architecture, as well as in the artefacts displayed in the museums. Discover the grizzly stories of Firka Fortress, or take a romantic wander through Chania’s Old Town, where you’ll find numerous quaint eateries.

      • Day at Port Piraeus (tours to Athens) - Overnight onboard
        11-12 Dec 2026
Piraeus (tours to Athens) - Overnight onboard

Piraeus is a stunning port city in the Athens urban area and an important entry point to the ancient city of Athens for Mediterranean cruises in the Aegean Sea. Although, that doesn’t mean Piraeus has nothing to offer visitors – the truth is far from it, in fact. With a recorded history dating back to the city’s foundation in the 5th century BC, Piraeus is home to stunning historic sites, impressive architecture, and a rich history of its own – originally established as a prototype port for Athens. It’s now Greece’s largest port and a bustling metropolis; while tours to Athens are always worth considering, you’ll enjoy the time you spend in Piraeus.

Amazing experience in a Continental Suite - super comfortable and the increase in space was worth it. The food in Acquilina was very very good. The only Negative comment is that the service on the rear of the cafe in the evening was very poor. On a warm evening it is a wonderful place to have dinner but we repeatedly had to ask for drinks and the waiters attitude was not good. Not enough waiters there.

We had a really enjoyable time on the Azamara Onwars, Greek Island cruise. The staff are just fantastic, the best ever and nothing is too much trouble. Still smiling on the last day, when they must be exhausted and getting ready for the next lot of passengers. The food is greaat and we met lots of lovely people. The rooms are small and the bathrooms are tiny, but this is our third cruise and it doesn't bother us in the slightest.

Loved the small ship experience. We had a suite, which was beautiful, but it's the fabulous crew and the superb food that really made it a great cruise. Didn't join any of the excursions so can't really offer an opinion.
