Superb cruise from embarkation to leaving. Everyone was friendly and helpful which was great as I walk with a rollator and we had dreadful weather with rough seas so much so that the itinerary was changed. The crew were exceptionally always smiling and genuinely seemed content with their lot even though they worked tirelessly to make sure everyone was happy. The entertainment was very good. Would recommend to anyone who is travelling solo.

Having been on a number of very good cruises with Ambassador we found our latest cruise disappointing. The company cannot be blamed for the very poor wet weatherand that the itiniary had to be changed a few times.
What it can be hel to account for is that the heating in the dining room and the theatres were postively cold and that is unacceptable. The TV in the cabin is very limited and there is no sports channel. Sport is a part of modern life and for 3 weeks we were cut off form the sporting world.
On the plus side the food is a good as any line we have been on and the serviceand staff on Ambassador are attentivlely top class

Just a short train journey from the heart of bustling London, Tilbury offers the best sights of the city as well as attractions local to the cruise port. Explore Tilbury Fort which played a vital role in the battle against the Spanish Armada, and discover the 1127 Rochester Castle which plays host to numerous events and markets throughout the year. Finally, for a unique sightseeing tour, take a short ferry ride from Tilbury to Gravesend.
Things to do in London Tilbury:
Tilbury Fort
Tilbury Fort is an artillery fort on the north bank of the River Thames. It was formerly known as the Thermitage Bulwark and the West Tilbury Blockhouse. From the 16th century until the Second World War, it secured London's seaward approach. The first fort was constructed here by Henry VIII, and Queen Elizabeth I famously gathered her soldiers nearby to combat the Armada threat. With its network of moats and bastioned outworks, the current fort is perhaps the greatest example of its kind in England.
Coalhouse Fort
A short journey away from the port lies the Coalhouse Fort Park. Dating back to the 1860s, this fascinating coastal defence building holds an array of events throughout the year and is run solely by volunteers.
Guru Nanak Temple
Located just across the river in nearby Gravesend, the Siri Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara is a Sikh temple which offers guided tours. Extraordinary in its architecture, it’s an impressive building featuring 5 domes, hand crafted marble and stonework. It took inspiration from the iconic Golden Temple at Amritsar.

15 Jan 2026
Time at Port: TBD
A major seaport for the vibrant city of Porto, and for Portugal as a whole, Leixoes is a fantastic port of call to visit when sailing the North Atlantic Ocean and visiting the Azores. With Porto such an impressive melting pot of cultures and cuisines, there’s so much to explore – and indulge in – when you arrive. Whether you’re looking for some authentic food from a restaurant along the picturesque Cais da Ribeira promenade, an intimate wine cellar with the city’s best bottles, or a charming cafe where you can enjoy a quiet cup of coffee, the culinary experience in Porto is second to none. Beyond this, though, you’ll find a fantastic variety of interesting landmarks and historical sites to explore; from the stunning Church of Saint Ildefonso to the impressive Dom Luis I Bridge, there’s plenty to see in Porto alone. However, this is a fantastic starting point for shore excursions further afield, too – with nearby vineyards and the historic city of Guimaraes popular options. Although, if you want to do as little travelling as possible, you’ll be pleased to know that Porto is home to numerous stunning sandy beaches, so lounging around in the sunshine is also a fantastic option here.
Things to do in Leixões, Portugal:
Praia de Matosinhos
Perhaps the perfect place to relax and unwind in the stunning sunshine as soon as you arrive, Praia de Matosinhos is the closest stretch of sandy beach to the Leixoes cruise port; a stone’s throw from everything you’ll need to enjoy a beach day, this wide beach also boasts breathtaking sunsets – and the warm waters are great for both swimming and surfing.
Church of Saint Ildefonso
A stunning 18th century church in central Porto, the Church of Saint Ildefonso boasts impressive proto-Baroque architecture and an incredible exterior featuring 1932 azulejo tilework. Built on the site of a chapel which dates back to at least 1296, the intricate designs of the outer tilework depict scenes from the life of Saint Ildefonso and imagery from the Gospels; within this twin-towered church you’ll find an impressive interior worth taking a moment to admire.
Castelo do Queijo (Cheese Castle)
The Forte de Sao Francisco Xavier, which is commonly known as the Cheese Castle, is a 17th century coastal fortification just south of Praia de Matosinhos; standing on a prominent rocky outcrop, the fort played a pivotal role in the Siege of Porto (1832 - 1833) and the revolt of Maria da Fonte in 1846. Now, it houses a military museum and affords visitors the opportunity to admire Porto and the Portuguese coastline from a unique perspective. Its colloquial name comes from the fact that it was reportedly constructed on a circular rock formation resembling a wheel of cheese.

London Tilbury
DAY 24
04 Feb 2026
Time at Port: from 8 AM to 5 PM
