Seat of the Exchequer of Normandy and a capital of the Anglo-Norman and Angevin dynasties throughout the 11th to the 15th centuries, home to the site where Jeanne d’Arc was tried and burned alive, severely damaged during Operation Overlord in 1944, and now contributing to France’s impressive HAROPA Port – of which Le Havre and Paris also contribute – the cultural, historical, and economic importance of Rouen and cannot be overstated. Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen
Established by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1801, Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen is one of the main regional fine art museums in France and features collections including impressionist paintings, Russian icons, Objets d’art, and more. The building currently housing the museum was constructed between 1877 and 1888 and features regular seasonal exhibitions alongside the permanent display of an incredible wealth of art from the 16th century onwards.
Le Gros-Horloge
An impressive 14th-century astrological clock in central Rouen, Le Gros-Horloge, is a marvel of technological advancements in the Middle Ages. Originally constructed without a dial, in which one revolution of the hour hand represented a day, a fresh facade was introduced in the 1520s, and the whole clock was electrified in the early 20th century. It’s one of the largest mechanisms of this type still in existence today and an impressive landmark to admire while exploring this incredible destination.
Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Rouen
Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Rouen is an impressive 12th-century Catholic cathedral in the heart of Rouen; a must-see and hard-to-miss landmark, it’s famous for its three towers, each boasting a distinct architectural style. It’s believed that Rouen’s first church, which would have been established circa 260 by Saint Mellonius, is under or close to the present location of Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Rouen. To say this site has cultural significance would be an understatement; it was also briefly the tallest building in the world from 1876 to 1880 and the subject of several impressionist paintings by Claude Monet.

Aquarium
If you're looking for a more unique activity during your time in St. Malo, head to the Grand Aquarium. Opened in 1996, this expansive aquarium is home to over 11,000 different marine animals. Fun for all the family, it's a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the city!
National Fort
Alternatively, if you're looking for an attraction that's more historical, head to St. Malo's Fort National. Located within a few hundred metres of the city, the fort was built in the late 17th century to protect the city from invaders. You can visit the fort by foot at low tide.
Cathedral
Built in the 12th century, the Saint Vincent Cathedral features beautiful stained-glass windows, murals and a beautiful spire. A fascinating place to explore whilst in St Malo, it takes about 1 hour to explore in full.
St. Peter Port, Guernsey

Castle Cornet
Castle Cornet, also known as Cornet Rock or Castle Rock, is a large island castle in Guernsey and a historic tidal island. It was crucial for both the island's defences and the defence of the roadstead, and was integrated into one of the breakwaters of St. Peter Port's port, the principal harbour of Guernsey, in 1859.
Guernsey Tapestry Gallery
The Bailiwick of Guernsey Millennium Tapestry, a community-wide undertaking, is displayed in the Guernsey Tapestry Gallery. Ten embroidered canvas panels, each representing a century, depict 1000 years of local history. The project's original goals were to serve as a permanent remembrance of the Millennium festivities, include the whole community, and inspire people to learn more about the history of the island.
Victor Hugo House
Victor Hugo resided in 38 Hauteville House in St. Peter Port, Guernsey, while he was living in exile from France. Hugo's descendants Jeanne, Jean, Marguerite, and François presented the home to the City of Paris in March 1927, the hundredth year of Romanticism.

One of Bordeaux, France's most identifiable landmarks is the Place de la Bourse. Cathédrale Saint-André de Bordeaux

First mentioned in official documents dating from 814, this serves as the residence of the Archbishop of Bordeaux and has hosted two royal weddings throughout history: the marriage between Eleanor of Aquitaine and Louis VII in 1137 and the marriage of Anne of Austria and Louis XIII in 1615.

Palacio Miramar

Things to do in Bilbao (Getxo):
Bilbao Cathedral
Built in the 14th and 15th centuries, Bilbao Cathedral has a Gothic style exterior and interior, though with Renaissance and neo-Classical influences. Despite still being a working church, visitors can take a tour with information provided by an audio guide.
Basilica de Begona
Towering from the top of a hill, the 16th-century Basilica de Begoña can be reached on foot or by an elevator from Calle Esperanza. Its imposing Gothic steeple makes a fantastic photo opportunity while, inside the basilica, you’ll find an intricate gold altarpiece.
Bilbao Fine Arts Museum
Displaying works from the 12th century through to the present day, the Museum of Fine Arts of Bilbao is a must visit particularly for traditional art enthusiasts. Visitors will find paintings, sculptures, drawings, engravings and more, organised by topic alphabetically.
Guggenheim Museum
One of the largest museums in Spain, the Guggenheim Museum is dedicated to showcasing modern and contemporary art. The building itself is a unique architectural landmark while inside you’ll find countless ever-changing exhibitions.

Just a short ferry ride from Vigo are the trio of islands boasting some of the best, pristine beaches. Nature lovers will adore the untouched setting where you can hike the popular Monte Faro route, swim in the crystal clear sea, sunbathe and relax in paradise.
Parque del Monte Castro
Close to Castro Fortress is Parque del Monte Castro. While many years ago the area was once filled with soldiers on parade, you’ll now find picturesque gardens and terraces, as well as a children’s playground.
Samil Beach
Vigo’s most popular beach for families and kids, Samil is not just a place to sunbathe and swim! With pools, basketball courts, a skating rink, eateries and parks, there is always a buzz around this beach. Close to the centre, it is easily accessible and spacious.
Vigo Art Museum
The building was initially designed as a jail and courthouse, though is now home to numerous exhibition halls, showcasing a variety of mediums from sculpture, architecture, film, design, fashion and more. Visitors are also able to book a stay at the museum itself!
Leixões, Portugal

A major seaport for the vibrant city of Porto, and for Portugal as a whole, Leixoes is a fantastic port of call to visit when sailing the North Atlantic Ocean and visiting the Azores. With Porto such an impressive melting pot of cultures and cuisines, there’s so much to explore – and indulge in – when you arrive. Whether you’re looking for some authentic food from a restaurant along the picturesque Cais da Ribeira promenade, an intimate wine cellar with the city’s best bottles, or a charming cafe where you can enjoy a quiet cup of coffee, the culinary experience in Porto is second to none. Beyond this, though, you’ll find a fantastic variety of interesting landmarks and historical sites to explore; from the stunning Church of Saint Ildefonso to the impressive Dom Luis I Bridge, there’s plenty to see in Porto alone. However, this is a fantastic starting point for shore excursions further afield, too – with nearby vineyards and the historic city of Guimaraes popular options. Although, if you want to do as little travelling as possible, you’ll be pleased to know that Porto is home to numerous stunning sandy beaches, so lounging around in the sunshine is also a fantastic option here.

Praia de Matosinhos
Perhaps the perfect place to relax and unwind in the stunning sunshine as soon as you arrive, Praia de Matosinhos is the closest stretch of sandy beach to the Leixoes cruise port; a stone’s throw from everything you’ll need to enjoy a beach day, this wide beach also boasts breathtaking sunsets – and the warm waters are great for both swimming and surfing.
Church of Saint Ildefonso
A stunning 18th century church in central Porto, the Church of Saint Ildefonso boasts impressive proto-Baroque architecture and an incredible exterior featuring 1932 azulejo tilework. Built on the site of a chapel which dates back to at least 1296, the intricate designs of the outer tilework depict scenes from the life of Saint Ildefonso and imagery from the Gospels; within this twin-towered church you’ll find an impressive interior worth taking a moment to admire.
Castelo do Queijo (Cheese Castle)
The Forte de Sao Francisco Xavier, which is commonly known as the Cheese Castle, is a 17th century coastal fortification just south of Praia de Matosinhos; standing on a prominent rocky outcrop, the fort played a pivotal role in the Siege of Porto (1832 - 1833) and the revolt of Maria da Fonte in 1846. Now, it houses a military museum and affords visitors the opportunity to admire Porto and the Portuguese coastline from a unique perspective. Its colloquial name comes from the fact that it was reportedly constructed on a circular rock formation resembling a wheel of cheese.
Lisbon

Alfma District
One of the oldest and most vibrant districts of Lisbon, Alfama is the place to be for artisan eateries, quirky boutiques and Fado bars. It’s best explored on foot or by the tram to experience as many of the attractions and highlights as possible.
Jeronimos Monastery
One of the most visited sites in Lisbon, the Jerónimos Monastery was completed in the seventeenth century. In 1983 UNESCO declared it as a World Heritage Site and it’s certainly a must visit to admire the beautiful architecture both inside and out.
Lisbon Oceanarium
Here visitors will discover over 450 different species of marine life, including sharks, rays, penguins and otters. Cruisers of all ages will love following the route around the central aquarium to learn about the major ecosystems of the ocean.
Torre de Belem
Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983, Torre de Belém was built to protect Lisbon from attackers from the sea. Despite its role, the fort was decorated with lavish carvings and details, which are best viewed from the banks of the Rio Tejo.
Tram 28
Tram 28 is the classic Lisbon mode of transportation – rattling around the narrow streets in a bright yellow tram that dates back to the 1930’s. Hop on and take one of the best tours of Lisbon, passing highlights and attractions along the way.
Sintra
Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its cultural landscape, Sintra is a romantic destination to escape to for the day. Featuring enchanting palaces and rolling hills, this town is easily accessible from Lisbon via a regular train service.
St George's Castle
Established in 200 BC, Castelo de Sao Jorge is one of the biggest highlights of Lisbon. Get to know the city’s unique and fascinating history, explore the imposing walls, wander the shady gardens and admire the vast views from the Observation Terrace.
