Seabourn Ovation Reviews
View Cruise Dealseverything was first class
Ship never felt crowded, and we never had to wait for drinks or a dinner table. Lunches were generally more interesting and flavoursome than dinners, which were a bit repetitive and lacking in imagination. Included wines were not great. Cruise itinerary was good with small ports that were easy to walk and explore, which was good because the ship's own excursions were very overpriced and of little interest to us. Some entertainers were truly childish and self indulgent. Fortunately the musicians in the bars were all good, but crying out for real jazz performance rather than just playing the same old songs from a laptop. Cabin was large and had plenty of storage. As usual, the staff in the cabins, restaurants, and bars were all excellent.
Very enjoyable time onboard - staff very attentive and made us feel very special. Entertainment was appropriate and fabulous. Dining and bar staff very professional. Cabin was comfortable and bathroom luxurious. Overall we would definitely love to sail with Seabourn again
Staff were friendly and helpful, suite was very clean and well serviced. Excursions were generally poor with too many coach trips for too long. Stop in Casablanca was very poor and 2 days far too long
Outstanding cruise. Impeccable voyage, officers, staff, dining, security, housekeeping and entertainment.
We loved everything, felt like Kings and Queens, the service, our cruise director, the officers, the wonderfull food and being able to dine slowly. We also enjoyed our fellow passengers and exchanging world views.
It would have been 5 stars but for the fact Carnivsl Corp. have "Carnivalised" Seabourn by not giving a choice of Main Dining Room or Buffet for both breakfast and lunch. I do NOT like buffets, always dined in the MDR for every meal, now have a choice of either the buffet, or starve. This cruise will probably be our last Seabourn, which is a shame as up untik now it has been our favourite cruise line. The Seabourtn staff, as always, were superb, | feel sorry for them as staff levels were noticeably smaller. Food was very good, no problem with that, but the buffet leaves me cold. As one passnger said - "Seabourn is dying a death of a thousand cuts". Bring back the Seabourn I love, PLEASE!
Beautiful ship well maintained. Cabin standard was high but on deck 5 we did hear anchor and thruster noise when arriving at destinations. Service was excellent throughout. Every crew member was pleasant, polite helpful and professional without exception. Food standards were very high throughout. Limited no. of restaurants and didn't use Earth & Ocean much due to lack of menu options. Entertainment level was good, especially for a small ship. Had some problems with delays on excursions which could have been better handled if there had been a Seabourn rep with us. Activities were limited. No deck games or even a walking track. Usual problems with lack of sunbeds which could have been improved if usage rules were consistently applied. Seabourn's reputation is very high and the Ovation very nearly met it.
Excellent food and service on a fabulous ship. Luxurious suites and the beds are fantastic - guaranteed good nights sleep. Complementary wines were not the best but the champagne is a good alternative!
Our Caribbean cruise on the Seabourn Ovation was wonderful. The crew go above and beyond, nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is outstanding and the cabin was spacious, with luxury amenities and an extremely comfortable bed. The only thing that stops me giving five stars is the ship rolled a lot which you don't get on the larger ships.
