Scarlet Lady Reviews
View Cruise DealsThe itinary, food and staff were amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend this cruise. It was our third but first with Virgin who are probably the best we have experienced. The one downside for us was the ship's clientele appeared to be dominated by several groups of brash, loud Jamaican women. This could be quite intrusive at times.
Good cabin Good evening entertainment options Good customer service You must be tec savvy and use the app Poor process for booking restaurants Food heavily biased towards American taste
Everything is App based On most cruises you have the buffet and the normal restaurant plus speciality (pay for) restaurants - on Scarlet Lady you had either the buffet of the speciality restaurants (no charge) bur being able to get a decent time was difficult so we often used the buffet which had much less choice than other cruise lines.
Enjoyable cruise.
Negatives: For us we found the shows a bit over the top. Not enough variation too balanced to a certain type of market. Music singers too similar actually singing same songs. Entertainment overall, for us, did not work. After we were picked up from our hotel we were made to wait 4. 5 hours for embarking, why pick us up this early or could a space on board not be used. Quite a number of staff in the sailor services were new and continually have to seek advice themselves. Cabin was very small especially the shower room. Did not like drinking from plastic glass. Drink price shown on menu did not match what we were charged example beer shown as 7 on menu but appeared as 7. 70 on statement. Dress code was quoted as relaxed and guidance was given but even these relaxed codes were not enforced making us actually uncomfortable at times. These codes are there for the majority not for the minority if want to show off. Would have liked a kettle in the cabin. Positives: Generally speaking the service provided by the staff was very good. Although the cabins lacked in size that was not the case with the beds, very comfortable. The basic onboard WI-FI was very good. By far the best aspect of the voyage was the food, especially the bookable restaurants. These would be worth an outstanding mark in any bodies book and an extra star in ours.
The scarlet lady is a very nice ship 🚢 ❤️ The staff the food the entertainment are all excellent ❤️ The party’s on the roof sail away and scarlet night we’re all amazing ❤️ The rooms are of modern tec all work off an I pad. ❤️ There is plenty of room and are cleaned to a very high standard ❤️ This is a must cruise 🚢 We have just done our 4th and loved every one ❤️
We have just got back from cruising from Barcelona to Italy Corsica and Ibiza it was a fabulous cruise. Everything went really well food fantastic staff fantastic the only thing we would say about it was the excursions were misrepresented. We thought we were doing one thing and then when we got to the day, it changed again, which was very annoying And resulted in us not seeing hardly anything of Rome which is what we paid awful a lot of money to do. This seems to be an ongoing problem and I can’t understand why it’s not been resolved.
A wonderful holiday on Scarlet Lady Iglu very efficient & great customer service also flexible with booking amendments & sympathetic to possible late changes. Hotel in South Beach suggested by Iglu was perfect, beautifully restored art deco. Loved cruising with Virgin Voyages - sea terrace amazing, loved iPad control & hammock fantastic. Cuisine was exceptional, superb. entertainment/nightlife options lots of comfortable places to hang out during the lovely weather on deck despite just about full capacity. Have booked on board a transatlantic cruise for next year can't wait!
This was our first cruise and far exceeded our expectation in every aspect. The ship was excellent , great standard and super itinerary , the food was superb , the Cabin was spot on , there was loads to do and the entertainment was great , ( scarlet night in particular was so much fun ) Very good value for money too. We Loved it and will go on another again.
The Scarlet Lady is a delightful, high quality boat with so many interesting nooks and crannies. The absolute jewel on the ship though is the staff. They ALL seem to be stunningly knowledgeable, helpful and always cheerful. One of our very few downsides was the very restrictive "free" Wi-Fi (only one slow device per person - in 2024???). There was always such an amazing choice of great food and activities and we were always able to find something to keep us entertained. Our only other gripes were the "limited view" to our sea terrace cabin cabin which was anything but limited. The web picture hardly shows anything but in practice, the view is severely spoilt by 50% of a lifeboat hanging right outside our terrace and window. The other concern was the ridiculously high charges for anything not included. e. g. $75 to use the sauna and steam rooms, etc for 3 hours. A year or so ago we paid $60 each for all day use of similar facilities for our entire 10 day cruise in S E Asia. Also, $200 for a tour of the ship while at sea! On other cruises we've been on that was free or maybe $10 at most. We managed the whole trip without seeing inside the laundry!! All that said, we really did enjoy the cruise. It was a relatively late decision to book and go because it all seemed so reasonable with no Wi-Fi fees and service included. We've talked about it and yes we would go on Virgin Voyages again but perhaps we'll be more conscious in advance that we won't be enjoying all the usual delights of a cruise holiday without spending extra.
