The bustling harbour in Benoa is a fantastic place to visit, due to the amount of watersports and food stalls surrounding it. Offering the perfect photo opportunities, the harbour is at the heart of the area.

A vibrant market with pretty surroundings, one of the most popular attractions in Benoa is the Pasar Desa Pakraman market. Local fishermen and other vendors sell their produce here from the early evening until midnight.

Another nearby cultural attraction is the Caow Eng Bio Temple. One of the oldest Chinese temples in the area, it boasts prominent red arches, shrines, sculptures and other extraordinary features.

An active volcano dominating the stunning natural landscape of Lombok, Mount Rinjani is the second-highest volcano in Indonesia and provides a sensational backdrop for some of the incredible hiking routes on this island. Climbing to the summit of Rinjani itself can take a couple of days, and it’s far from easy, but you’ll be able to appreciate the majesty of this mountainous formation from wherever you are on the island – whether you’re exploring the incredible terrain by foot, or lounging on a sunny beach with refreshments in-hand.

Lembar, Lombok is the perfect launching point for some of the most unique snorkelling experiences in the world. Heading out to the Gili Islands, you’ll have the chance to see sunken scooters, a vibrant coral reef, huge sea turtles, and Nest – an unusual underwater sculpture by Jason deCaires Taylor, which depicts 48 life-size human figures in a circle. A hauntingly beautiful sight, it really has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated.

An impressive indigenous village on Lombok, Beleq is a great place to learn more about the Sasak Culture. Dating all the way back to the 14th century, with surprisingly few changes throughout the years, you’ll be able to immerse yourself fully in local life here; from traditional housing to artwork and cuisine, spending some time here will elevate your experience in Indonesia.

A resort area on the north coast, Lovina Beach is home to a variety of marine life, from tropical fish to dolphins. Popular for its calm waters and black sand, it’s within easy reach of an array of attractions, including the Banjar Hot Springs.

Around 1 hour from the port you’ll find the bustling town of Singaraja. Aligned with warehouses that are in a Dutch colonial style, there are several temples, shops and a royal palace that dates back to the 1600;s here. A wonderful place to explore, it’s well worth a visit during your stop off.

An impressive ancient mosque in east Java, the Sunan Ampel Great Mosque is the oldest of its kind in the area. Built in 1421, this beautiful mosque boasts a peaceful atmosphere and incredible architecture, alongside an expansive tomb complex.

A prominent historical building in Semarang is Lawang Sewu. Built in stages, its construction finished in the early 20th century. Once home to the Dutch East Indies Railway Company, but being used as the headquarters for the Japanese military in World War II, this historical building has a captivating past that’s waiting to be explored.

Spanning an impressive 3.2 hectares of land, the Sam Poo Kong Complex is one of the most iconic landmarks in the city; and the oldest temple within it is the incredible Sam Poo Kong Temple. Showcasing extraordinary 14th century Javanese and Chinese architecture, stand out features are the layered pagoda roof and colourful statues.

Built in 1994, Kuala Lumpur Tower is a 6 storey, 421 metre tall communication tower, is the second-tallest tower in Southeast Asia, Malaysia, and the seventh-tallest skyscraper in the entire globe. Venture to the top of this extraordinary building and enjoy breathtaking views out across the city.

The cave complex, which is devoted to Murugan, is one of the most well-known Hindu sanctuaries outside of India. It serves as the main point of Malaysia's Thaipusam, a Tamil holiday. Located just a few miles outside of the city, it’s well worth a visit to these incredible caves, so you can see the breathtaking surroundings, numerous statues and other attractions found in and around them.

A six-tiered temple dedicated to the Chinese sea goddess Mazu, Theanu Hou is situated on 1.67 acres of property on Lorong Bellamy, atop Robson Heights, with views of Jalan Syed Putra. Built in 1987 and formally inaugurated in 1989, it's a captivating attraction to visit whilst in the city. 

One of the must see attractions in Langkawi is the picturesque Kilim Geoforest Park. Featuring an array of flora and fauna, from mangrove forests to beaches, you can enjoy a relaxing river tour through the nature park and even visit a floating restaurant during your time there.

Take to the skies and enjoy an unforgettable cable car ride on the Panorama SkyCab. Reaching heights of 708 metres above sea level and spanning just over 2 kilometres, the sights you’ll see along the way are guaranteed to take your breath away.

From crocodile talks, to fishing and feeding, Crocodile Adventureland gets you up close to these fascinating creatures. Spanning 20 hectares, the wildlife park is home to a variety of different species.

The third tallest statue in the country, this huge buddha stands at an impressive 45 metres tall and 25.45 metres wide. Overlooking the city, it’s made of concrete and has been meticulously covered with Burmese white marble. Taking over 10 years to build, this extraordinary statue offers the perfect photo opportunities.

A historical area in the city of Phuket, the main streets boast buildings with a distinct Portuguese appearance. In the town you’ll find an array of shops, hotels, museums and restaurants to explore throughout your time there.

Built in 1891, Kek Lok Si Temple is considered to be one of the most beautiful and popular temples to visit in Malaysia. Not only does it boast millions of images of Buddha, but sculptures, murals and impressive carvings. Blending traditional Chinese rituals with Mahayana Buddhism, it’s a captivating attraction that’s a must visit whilst in Penang.

Alternatively, you can head to the picturesque and tranquil Penang National Park. Offering an array of activities within it, from hiking trails to jungle trekking and visiting the beautiful Muka Head Lighthouse, you won’t be lost on activities to enjoy. The iconic Jonker Street Night Market is a popular place to visit for tourists, due to the array of souvenirs, food and entertainment. A bustling open-air market that's open on the weekend, it's a spectacle that's worth seeing during your time in the city.

Alternatively, if you're looking for something a little more historic, head to the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple. Dating to the 17th century, this colourful Buddhist, Confucianism and Taoism temple is the oldest of its kind in the country.
