Amazing 22day Chile/Antarctica/Falklands/Uruquay/Argentina experience on the Oosterdam. Antarctica was simply breathtaking and the Ship's Master did everything possible to maximise every aspect of the 4 days amongst the ice.
Ship's crew were exceptional in every sense and the vessel itself perfect. Slightly older ship, not overly glitzy, just perfect. Our first cruise with Holland America, we are now completely converted and looking towards the next one with them, already seriously considering repeating the Antarctica cruise !

100% Fabulous, from the moment we landed at Buenos Aries airport we had a sensory overloud, in a good way. The weather was extremely kind to us throughout the 22 night cruise and our time pre cruise in Buenos Aries. We just loved it.
You can do as much or as little as you like onboard and before. One of my highlights was waking up and looking out the balcony window to see icebergs and also orca swimming by. Oh and lots and lots of penguins :-)

DAY 3
Time at Port: TBD
Lima, Peru’s capital city, has so much to offer and this sightseeing tour is the perfect opportunity to explore this city’s modern districts and historic city centre; balancing the two throughout the day, you’ll get an insight into the unique blend of past and present that characterizes this unique capital. Following some sightseeing, you’ll have the chance to visit the famous Basilica and Convent of Santo Domingo in the historic city centre before stopping off at the impressive Larco Herrera Museum. A comprehensive tour of the capital, there’s something for everyone to enjoy with this memorable experience.
Things to see:
Basilica and Convent of Santo Domingo
Founded in the 1530s, and completed in 1766, this impressive religious complex sits in the heart of Lima’s historic city centre featuring an iconic bell tower and stunning neoclassical-style interiors with surviving details dated to as early as 1580.
Larco Herrera Museum
A unique privately-owned museum of pre-Columbian artwork, you’ll find over an impressive 3,000 years of Peruvian history here with an accumulation of incredible pre-Inca art that’s widely considered a collection of masterpieces
Casa de Aliaga
An impressive colonial-style structure in the historic centre of Lima, Casa de Aliaga was originally constructed on a monumental huaca in the mid-16th century; this was during the founding of the city itself. Damaged by earthquakes in 1746, but quickly rebuilt, this building has been inhabited by the same family for 17 generations; within, you’ll find several decorated rooms offering you an incredible insight into the city’s colonial past and what life was like for the affluent in Lima over the last several hundred years. Salt Mines of Maras Tour
DAY 4
Time at Port: TBD
Hidden away in the stunning Sacred Valley, just a stone’s throw from Cusco, are the Salt Mines of Maras – an impressive site that will offer you a unique insight into the Incan history that still influences modern Peruvian culture today. Kicking things off, though, you’ll enjoy lunch at an authentic Peruvian restaurant, an experience that will offer you invaluable insight into the cuisine and traditional cooking techniques of this fascinating region. Once done, you’ll continue to the staggering Salt Mines of Maras – an impressive hillside home to thousands of glistening salt-water pools where solar evaporation techniques are still used to gather fresh salt by local families. Following this, while you’re in the area, you’ll also journey to Moray – which is a short distance from the Salt Mines of Maras. This Incan ruin is believed to be an open-air agricultural lab used for adapting crops to different environmental conditions. The remarkable concentric circular depressions stretch approximately 30 m deep, and it’s one of the most interesting sights you’ll see in the Peruvian mountains. Offering you an intimate insight into rural Peru and how Incan techniques and practices still survive today, this tour will leave you with memories that will last a lifetime.
Things to see:
Flavourful Peruvian Cuisine
Peruvian cuisine is one of a kind and something worth looking forward to enjoying; with dishes often a fusion of traditional staples like corn and potatoes with influences from African, Spanish, and Chinese immigrants, you can expect to enjoy a vibrant variety of flavourful foods and dishes, with everything from fresh raw fish dishes and creamy chicken stews to stir-fried food and more.
Salt Mines of Maras
With over 3,000 ponds collectively connected by a remarkable network of underground canals that fill each one with salt water, this impressive mine still produces salt using the same solar evaporation methods used during the height of the Inca Empire.
Moray
This interesting archaeological site is home to Incan ruins believed to be – at least, in part – an open-air agricultural lab used to adapt crops to the differing environment of the Peruvian landscape; with the lowest point of this site roughly 30 m deep, the temperature can differentiate by as much as five degrees in the centre.

Peru’s Sacred Valley of the Incas is stunningly beautiful and a fascinating place to spend any amount of time in. Fortunately, during your exploration of this vibrant region, you’ll have the opportunity to spend some time in the Sacred Valley. Cutting through the Peruvian Andes from Pisac to Ollantaytambo, this region is rich in ancient history and affords you the perfect chance to immerse yourself in the remarkable culture found here. The specific details of your hotel accommodation will be available closer to your departure date, but rest assured, you’re in for a treat.
Ollantaytambo Tour
DAY 5
Time at Port: TBD
This exciting tour will take you to the remarkable Incan ruins of Ollantaytambo, where you’ll have the chance to explore the surviving temples and terraces of this unique site, learning more about what life was like in the Sacred Valley hundreds of years ago. During the Spanish conquest of Peru through 1532 to 1572, the town of Ollantaytambo was something of a stronghold for Manco Inca Yupanqui – a leader of the Incan resistance. However, the surviving ruins in Ollantaytambo are far from military instalments. Rather, you’ll find ceremonial structures and temples alongside the terraces of Pumatallis. Interestingly, Temple Hill is commonly referred to as The Fortress, but it’s believed that this was primarily a religious site. In any case, a tour around Ollantaytambo promises to be an interesting one; while exploring this unique site, you’ll learn more about Incan life in the 16th century alongside the significance of Ollantaytambo and why it was chosen as a stronghold against the Spanish.
Things to see:
Temple of the Sun
Often referred to as the Fortress, this intriguing Incan temple in Ollantaytambo is known for the Wall of Six Monoliths – a series of stones weighing over 50 tons that originate from an entirely different mountain on the opposite side of the Sacred Valley region; this relocation, without known heavy machinery, is a mystery stumping archaeologists to this day.
Terrace of the Ten Niches
An impressive row of terraces, where the entire wall is made from two solid stone canvases, forming an incomplete enclosure that was largely demolished during colonial conquest centuries ago.
Sacred Valley of the Incas
Cutting through the Peruvian Andes, from Pisac to Ollantaytambo, the Sacred Valley of the Incas is a stunning example of this region’s sensational natural beauty and an important part of the ancient history found here. First utilised by the Chanapata civilisation around 800 BC, then by the Qotocalla civilisation and Killke civilisation, before being adopted into the Incan Empire by 1420, there’s an abundance of fascinating history to learn about this region. However, taking some time to admire the dramatic mountainous landscapes here is also a fantastic use of your time; forged by the flow of the Urubamba River, this wide valley is a jaw-dropping sight to behold.

Machu Picchu Tour
DAY 5
Time at Port: TBD
One of the New Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu is one of the largest ruins in Peru and a bucket list destination you’ll have the chance to explore with this exciting tour. Known as the Lost City of the Incas, this impressive citadel sits above the Sacred Valley, overlooking the stunningly beautiful Choquequirao Regional Conservation Area. During this tour, you’ll have the chance to explore some of the remarkable surviving structures scattered across this mountaintop – of which includes the Sun Temple, the Royal Tomb, and the iconic stepped terraces. The settlement itself is believed to be founded around 1450 before being abandoned by the Incan people in the mid-16th century, which was then left ‘unfound’ until American explorer Hiram Bingham rediscovered the site in 1911. Through this guided tour, you’ll experience the true uniqueness of this location and the near-inexplicable genius of its construction, both of which make this one of the most impressive places in the world. Somewhere that really has to be seen to be believed, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity you’ll relish in and remember for years to come.
Things to see:
Aguas Calientes
Below the ruins, along the Urubamba River, Aguas Calientes acts as the modern town of Machu Picchu; while you’ll find a variety of fantastic tourist attractions here, this town also offers you stunning views of the mountainous region from below.
Temple of the Three Windows
Found in the ‘urban sector’ of Machu Picchu, this impressive structure is famed for its large surviving walls and wide windows – through which the sun would shine and illuminate the Sacred Plaza beyond the outer wall of this temple.
Intihuatana
Thought to have been built around 1450, this remarkable ritual stone – which was carved directly into the bedrock of the mountain’s summit – is believed to have been associated with the astronomic calendar used by the Inca; with so many Intihuatana destroyed by Viceroy Francisco de Toledo and his clergy during the Spanish conquest of Peru, this remains one of the last surviving examples of these mysterious stone carvings.

Cusco - City Tour
DAY 7
Time at Port: TBD
The historical capital of the impressive Inca Empire, Cusco is home to a sensational selection of Incan ruins for you to explore; this enriching tour will take you to several important historical sites in and around the city, offering you an insight into Incan history and how this mysterious history still impacts Cusco’s culture today. From the significant Qorinkancha and the Convent of Santo Domingo to the Q’enco and Puka Pukara archaeological sites, you’ll have the chance to walk among Incan ruins and marvel at the impressive surviving structures at the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman and Tambomachay. Then, after an afternoon exploring Cusco at your own leisure, you’ll have the chance to enjoy more local cuisine with traditional entertainment accompanying each delicious dish. A comprehensive tour of Cusco’s most important Incan sites, complimented by an insight into Peruvian folklore and traditional dance with local cuisine, this experience will be one worth remembering.
Things to see:
Qorinkancha
Once regarded as the site of the most important temple in the Inca Empire, this unique landmark in central Cusco features the Convent of Santo Domingo – a Spanish church built on the ruins of the original Incan temple – and fragments of this once-important religious site.
Fortress of Sacsayhuaman
Sitting atop a steep hill overlooking Cusco, this impressive Incan citadel has surviving walls built from megalithic stones that would have been carefully carved beforehand to fit tightly together without the need for mortar – making the remaining ruins an even more impressive sight to see.
Q’enco Archaeological Complex
One of the largest surviving Incan holy places in the Cusco region, this ruin is built into the natural rock formations of the area and believed to be a site of ritual sacrifice and mummification.
Puka Pukara Archaeological Complex
A fascinating example of a military installation that seemingly doubled as an administrative centre for the region, this impressive Incan ruin features unique, haphazardly constructed walls that suggest it was initially constructed in a hurry on the hilltop.
Tambomachay
This unique Incan ruin is home to a series of aqueducts and waterfalls, some of which still provide clean water to the area today, and several structures that appear to be bath houses; interestingly, it’s still debated whether this site was an imperial bathhouse for all, a resort for the political elite, or a site of religious importance where sacrifices were made.

Santiago (San Antonio)
DAY 10
23 Feb 2027
Time at Port: from 7 AM to 5 PM
Served primarily by San Antonio, a moderately-sized Chilean port city within touching distance of the nation’s capital, Santiago is among the highlights on your cruise through South America. The largest city in Chile, and among the largest in the Americas, this urban centre is a fascinating place to explore. From impressive cultural landmarks like La Moneda Palace and San Cristobal Hill to the breathtaking views from atop Santa Lucia Hill and the remarkable artwork in the National Museum of Fine Arts, there are experiences everyone can enjoy in Santiago – not to mention the abundance of incredible restaurants and bars to check out. So, no matter what type of traveller you are, you’ll find something to enjoy when visiting Santiago.
Things to do in Santiago (San Antonio):
Chilean National Museum of Fine Arts
The oldest fine arts museum in South America, the Chilean National Museum of Fine Arts in Santiago is one of the world’s major centres for Chilean and South American art; established in 1880 and currently housed in the Palace of the Fine Arts – which was built in 1910 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Chilean independence – this museum boasts a collection of over 5,000 artworks.
La Moneda Palace
Once an impressive mint house during Chile’s colonial period, producing coins from 1814 to 1929, La Moneda Palace is the current seat of the president of the Republic of Chile and one of Santiago’s most famous landmarks. Occupying an entire block in the city’s Civic District, the neoclassical architectural style is influenced by Roman construction styles, affording the building a unique grandeur. It opens onto the Plaza de La Constitución, a neat city square that’s almost the same size as La Moneda Palace itself. Sanctuary of the Immaculate Conception on San Cristóbal Hill
One of the principal places of worship for the Catholic Church of Chile, and somewhere that’s considered a symbol of the city of Santiago, the Sanctuary of the Immaculate Conception is a shrine made famous for its impressive statue of the Virgin Mary – symbolising the immaculate conception of Jesus Christ – that stands over 14 metres tall. Strait of Magellan - Cruising
DAY 16
01 Mar 2027
Time at Port: TBD
Among the most important natural waterways in the world, the Strait of Magellan is a navigable sea route through southern Chile connecting the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean; shorter and more sheltered than the Drake Passage around Cape Horn, it could save important time when navigating this infamous trade route. First discovered in 1520 by Portuguese navigator Ferdinand Magellan, this route is roughly 350 miles long and separates the Tierra del Fuego archipelago from mainland South America. While shorter and generally more safe to sail through, it still proved a challenge – with it taking Magellan reportedly 38 days to navigate initially. Unpredictable winds and currents, alongside the fact that it’s only just over a mile wide at its most narrow point, made it tricky for larger ships; thus, Clipper style sailing ships often preferred the Drake Passage when navigating this trade route. By 1914, with the opening of the Panama Canal, the Strait of Magellan was rendered obsolete as a trade route; however, with modern cruise technology making it a breeze to navigate, this stretch of water is now an incredibly unique scenic cruising experience. While here, you’ll have the chance to admire dramatic rocky landscapes, vibrant woodlands, bright blue glaciers, and more; if you’re lucky, you’ll have the chance to spot humpback whales breaching the water and Magellanic penguins clustered on the shores.
Strait of Magellan - Cruising:
Punta Arenas
The capital of Chile’s Magallanes and Antarctica Chilena region and one of the few settlements you’ll sail past as you navigate the Strait of Magellan, Punta Arenas is an important geopolitical and logistical city for Chile; it’s also the most southernmost city in the world with a population of over 100,000 people. An invaluable launching point for Antarctic adventures and an important base for Chile to defend its sovereignty over the islands south of the Strait of Magellan, the settlement here exploded throughout the 1880s and early 1900s due to a gold rush and sheep farming boom. Since 2017, it has also been using its own time zone year-round, rather than utilising a winter time zone and summer time zone like the rest of Chile – something similar to the daylight savings the UK operates on.
Alberto de Agostini National Park
An impressive protected area in southern Chile, you’ll see parts of the Alberto de Agostini National Park as you cruise the Strait of Magellan; home to several tidewater glaciers and dramatic fjords, you’ll find the Cordellera Darwin mountain range here – the final stretch of the Andes before they sink into the Pacific Ocean. The third-largest national park in Chile, the rugged landscapes of Chilean Antarctica are breathtaking and not to be missed.

Explore the main boulevard and take in the local art gallery, or hit the duty free area for fantastic souvenirs.
Things to do in Punta Arenas:
Magellan Penguins Natural Reserve
Home to around 60,000 pairs of Magellan penguins, Magellan Penguins Natural Reserve is a fantastic place to get up close to nature. The boat ride there is also a chance to spot whales and other marine life, before getting some great photos with the penguins.

Ushuaia
DAY 18
03 Mar 2027
Time at Port: from 12 PM to 8 PM
Nicknamed the “End of the World”, Ushuaia is a charming windswept city on the southernmost tip of South America and an important port of call for cruise adventures to Antarctica. In the heart of the Tierra del Fuego archipelago, this port is surrounded by some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world, boasting sensational sightseeing opportunities for everyone who travels here. From vibrant coastal forests and dramatic waterfalls to stunning glaciers and unique polar wildlife, Ushuaia really is somewhere where you’ll be able to bask in the sheer beauty of nature, and soak up some sensational panoramic views from the vantage points found here. This city, though, while being famous for being (arguably) the most southernmost city in the entire world, is also something of a gateway to Antarctica and the smaller islands that make up the Tierra del Fuego archipelago. So, despite being rather quaint in comparison to other Argentinian cities and South American holiday hotspots, what you’re met with in Ushuaia is just a taste of what’s to come – if you’re continuing onto Antarctica, anyway. That doesn’t mean you should be too eager to leave Ushuaia, though, as this port of call does offer a lot more than just breathtaking natural beauty. Ushuaia is also home to a unique collection of museums and some fantastic food; so, while the awe-inspiring natural beauty of the region is a major highlight, this is one destination that will prove to be just as memorable as everything else on your itinerary.
Things to do in Ushuaia:
Tierra del Fuego National Park
An expansive national park that protects nearly 70,000 hectares of land, the Tierra del Fuego National Park combines marine areas, forests, and mountains to create a truly fascinating place worth exploring if you have the time while visiting Ushuaia. Here, you’ll find everything from luscious woodland and tumbling waterfalls to dramatic mountains and serene lakes. Throughout, you’ll also find evidence of the Yámanas, the first inhabitants of these lands, which serves to remind everyone who spends some time here that this region has been inhabited for more than 10,000 years. With so much to see, this is easily the best place to visit if you’re looking to switch off and embrace the great outdoors.
Museo del Fin del Mundo
If you want to learn more about the city of Ushuaia, Museo del fin del Mundo is the perfect place to go. A living heritage museum that explores the history and culture of Ushuaia and the Tierra del Fuego archipelago, the End of the World Museum (which is its name in English) is home to numerous exhibitions that explore the native history of this region, the local fauna and flora, the traditions and customs of the people here, and even some of the shipwrecks that have happened here over the centuries. Found in parts of the National Bank building and Old Government House, these impressive buildings only serve to highlight the importance of the museum and its contents.
Museo de la Ciudad
Also known as Casa Pena, this former private residence has served as the City Museum in Ushuaia since 2009; with an interesting selection of informative exhibits and historic items, this museum offers visitors a fantastic insight into what ordinary life was like in this city throughout the 20th century – which is when it was originally occupied by the Pena family.
Scenic Cruising Cape Horn
DAY 19
04 Mar 2027
Time at Port: TBD
Widely believed to be the most southerly point of South America for a long time, and a destination marking the meeting point of the Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean, Cape Horn is a stunning headland on Hornos Island – one of the larger landmasses in the Tierra del Fuego archipelago – known for unusual rock formations, tumultuous weather, and its significant role in maritime trading from the 1700s to the early 20th century. Initially discovered by Spanish explorers in 1526, and eventually first fully rounded by Dutch navigators for the East India Company in 1616 – who then named this destination Kaap Hoorn, after Hoorn in the Netherlands – Cape Horn is a rocky outlet steeped in maritime history. Navigating around Cape Horn was once a dangerous feat, with rough waters and intense winds making this trade route a valuable one – when navigated successfully, anyway. Rendered largely obsolete as a trade route by the Panama Canal, now Cape Horn represents a breathtaking scenic cruising experience you can enjoy without worrying about the treacherous sailing conditions.
Scenic Cruising Cape Horn:
Cape Horn Monument
A sculpture paying homage to the sailors who lost their lives attempting to navigate around Cape Horn, the Cape Horn monument stands along a lighthouse and the Stella Maris, a small Catholic chapel. It stands 24 feet tall on a hilltop roughly 165 feet above sea level.
Black-Browed Albatross Sightings
A highlight among the seabirds you can see when sailing around Cape Horn, black-browed albatrosses are among the most populous of its family – but no less impressive to see while at sea. With a wingspan of 200 cm to 240 cm and a natural lifespan of over 70 years, these bright white seabirds have a dark eyestripe and broad black edging to the underside of their wings.
Southern Rockhopper Penguin Spotting
A vulnerable penguin species often found in subantarctic waters like those surrounding Cape Horn, these are among the smallest species of its family; with breeding colonies around Cape Horn, you may spot some of these incredible animals during your sailing. They’re known for their bright yellow eyebrows, ending in long yellow plumes, and red eyes.
Port Stanley, Falkland Islands
DAY 20
05 Mar 2027
Time at Port: from 8 AM to 6 PM
Also known as Stanley, Port Stanley is the capital city of the Falkland Islands and a charming destination to visit during cruises through the South Atlantic Ocean and beyond. Home to roughly 70% of the Falkland Islands’ population, Port Stanley is the place to be if you’re looking to immerse yourself in this archipelago’s unique culture. Without an indigenous population, you’ll find that much of the culture and cuisine in Port Stanley is an amalgamation of British culture and cuisine, with influences from nearby nations, such as Argentina. So, Port Stanley is often described as feeling somewhat similar to a small English or Scottish town – a home away from home, of sorts. However, although exploring the quaint city centre is a fantastic way to spend your time, Port Stanley is also a great starting point for adventures further inland and along the coast. With the chance to enjoy guided nature walks, wildlife spotting, and experiences that invite you to explore this island’s tumultuous history, there’s something for everyone to enjoy here – whether you’re looking to sit and enjoy a freshly-poured pint in one of the local pubs, spot some penguins in their natural habitat, or admire the stunning landscapes found here.
Things to do in Port Stanley, Falkland Islands:
Falkland Islands Museum
Located in the historic dockyard of Port Stanley, the Falkland Islands Museum boasts a comprehensive collection of artefacts and historic items that explore the natural and cultural history of this archipelago. If you want to know more about the Falkland Islands, this is one of the best places in the world to spend some time. You’ll also find an interactive room that explores the stories of Falkland Islands residents during the Falklands War in 1982, highlighting the real impact of this conflict, as well as an area dedicated to the region’s maritime history.
Government House
Built in 1845, Government House is the home of the Falkland Islands’ governors and one of the most important landmarks in Port Stanley. Alongside being somewhere where Ernest Shackleton stayed during his famous Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition in the 1910s, and home to one of the world’s southernmost grape vines, Government House was also the site of a major battle during the 1982 invasion of the Falkland Islands, an event that kicked off the Falklands War, and where the surrender was ultimately issued.
Yorke Bay
Roughly four miles northeast of Port Stanley, Yorke Bay is a stunning destination to visit when spending some time in the Falkland Islands’ capital. Known internationally as a breeding ground for Magellanic penguins, a threatened species also found along the coast of Argentina and Chile, this is a fantastic place to see these incredible birds in their natural habitat. Interestingly, much of this area serves as an unplanned wildlife refuge, with Yorke Bay among several areas of coastline that were heavily mined during the Falklands War, making them unsafe for visitors. The island is free of landmines now, though, and you’ll be able to observe the wildlife and admire the stunning scenery of Yorke Bay from a safe distance.
At Sea
DAY 21-22
06 Mar 2027
Time at Port: TBD
While sailing between destinations, you’ll have time to take a moment and enjoy everything your cruise ship has to offer; with stunning food prepared with the freshest ingredients, fantastic entertainment opportunities, and plenty of places to lounge around, an enjoyable day at sea awaits!
Montevideo
DAY 23
08 Mar 2027
Time at Port: from 8 AM to 6 PM
Located on the north-eastern bank of the Rio de la Plata, Montevideo is the capital city of Uruguay and a modern metropolis with a difference. Boasting stunning European art deco-style architecture, a hangover from this region’s colonial past, Montevideo is home to an expansive beach promenade and a South American atmosphere to match. Here, you’ll find the Rambla, a riverfront avenue that’s one of the world’s longest continuous sidewalks – which just highlights how perfect Montevideo is if you’re looking to take a laid-back wander here. Beyond this, though, if you’re looking for a little more action, you’ll find a bustling marketplace in Mercado del Puerto, intriguing exhibitions in the Andes Museum and Museo El Juguetero (just two of the several incredible museums and galleries in Montevideo), and fantastic food everywhere you turn. With all the modern comforts of a capital city, but a relaxed atmosphere that lets you savour the little things, a visit to this metropolis is worth looking forward to.
Things to do in Montevideo:
Legislative Palace of Uruguay
A monumental example of neo-classical architecture in the heart of Montevideo, the Legislative Palace of Uruguay acts as the meeting place of the General Assembly of Uruguay, the seat of the legislative branch of the Uruguayan government, and a remarkable landmark to see when you visit. Built between 1904 and 1925, it was constructed to commemorate 100 years of Uruguayan independence.
Obelisk of Montevideo
Built in 1930 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first Constitution of Uruguay as a homage to the original members of the General Assembly, this three-sided structure stretches 40 metres up and is flanked by three bronze structures representing Law, Liberty, and Force. In 1983, it was the site of Rio de Libertad – the nation’s largest demonstration ever, demanding an end to the civil-military dictatorship in place at the time.
Palacio Salvo
Standing 95 metres tall, this stunning structure takes advantage of eclectic architectural designs to deliver one of the most remarkable buildings in Montevideo. Built with the intention of being a hotel in 1928, it’s now a mixture of private residences and office spaces – though tours of the building are available at select times during the day.

Found within La Boca, a historically working-class neighbourhood in the heart of the city, you’ll be met with brightly-coloured buildings, lively street performers, and fascinating art museums when you visit here. This tour will also take you to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain via the Sugarloaf Cable Car; a peak even higher than that of Corcovado Mountain, this is another excellent opportunity to admire the sensational views of this incredible city. With lunch at a local churrascaria (restaurants known for their flavourful take on traditional Portuguese barbecue), you’ll also enjoy a sightseeing ride along Rio de Janeiro’s famous beaches, namely Ipanema Beach and Copacabana Beach – both famed for their importance to Rio’s social life and some of the best beaches in the world. Giving you a flavour of Rio and Brazil’s coastal culture, while also offering you some of the most staggering views in South America, this tour is a fantastic way to learn a little more about Cidade Maravilhosa – the Marvellous City.

Sugarloaf Mountain
A peak rising 1,299 ft. above Guanabara Bay, named for its resemblance to the traditional shape of refined loaf sugar, this is one of several granite-quartz mountains around Rio de Janeiro and is known for offering panoramic views of the city and its’ surroundings from atop – which you can get to via the Sugarloaf Cable Car.

One of the world’s most famous stretches of sand, you may know Copacabana Beach from Barry Manilow’s 1978 hit “Copacabana (At the Copa)”; this stretch of Rio de Janeiro’s waterfront is home to over 70 hotels and hostels, while also being famed for its’ extravagant annual New Year's Eve celebrations.
Ipanema Beach
Reaching international fame with the popularity of bossa nova song “The Girl from Ipanema”, this stunning beach on Rio de Janeiro’s southern coast is adjacent to Copacabana Beach and known for its culture of sunbathing and surfing alongside its elegant developments in recent years and as a hub for the city’s waterfront social life.
Baia de Guanabara
