Cabin was very small, smaller than any other cruise we've been on. The complimentary buffet and restaurant food was diabolical. I tried to have a beef Cury once and couldn't even cut the meat with my knife, let alone eat it, there was no seasoning at all, everything was cold, Luke warm if you were lucky. They wouldn't cook a fried egg at breakfast in the buffet station. they'd cook broken eggs for omelettes but wouldn't cook a whole egg. They gave my husband a can of beer but wouldn't give a can of lemonade, they said they had to poor it into a cup !!!!!!! Entertainment was very hit and miss. There was literally nothing put in place for Christmas and New Year. They had a party on the deck for New Year, nothing in the restaurants, nothing anywhere, very, very poor. The only thing that saved this cruise were the crew were brilliant and we met some great cruisers, all saying the same about the food. You had to use the specialty restaurants to get a decent meal and that meant spending more money, what a surprise !!!. We have always rated NCL but if the had been our first experience of them we would not be cruising with them again, In fact, we still may choose not to cruise with them again because of this poor experience.

Good points - spacious shower cubicle (despite poor lighting), excellent bar service. Awfully designed toilet cubicle with absurd and pointless sliding door which scraped us every time we passed through it. It appears to be retro-fit for no good reason. Cubicle would have been tiny before (think airline toilets) then they added door and frame which reduced dimensions by c. 3" on doorway width and c. 4" on cubicle width. Nobody would want to be in there brushing their teeth while somebody was doing their business behind a flimsy transparent door. Lighting insufficient in bathroom. Cabin is too snug for us.
Food onboard was inconsistant although restaurants look good. I love soups but wasn't impressed with theirs. Indian food was good. Entertainment was not as good as other ships we've been on, although there are many talented performers.

Restaurant food excellent, buffer mediocre.
All staff superb apart from two men on the customer service desk who didn’t want to be there.
Organisation poor eg tenders (appalling), no ship wide announcements (nothing in breakfast).
Cruise Director didn’t engage with guests.
No ‘lectures’ or even info about next port of call.
Theatre entertainment mediocre.
No ‘index’ of films on stateroom tv and those shown were on repeat and limited.
Stateroom & balcony small, cabin shower-room cramped due to poor layout.

The itinerary for this cruise was good. Unfortunately due to the weather it was unable to dock in the first 2 ports so more time was spent onboard. There seemed to be no contingency plans for activities for this extra time onboard. The buffet food was below expectations based on other Norwegian cruises we have experienced. However the food in the complimentary dining rooms was fine. Our cabin was clean and as expected with a visit everyday from our cabin attendant. On the whole the staff worked very hard.

Buenos Aires
DAY 1
17 Jan 2028
Time at Port: from 5:45 AM to 6:45 PM
Buenos Aires, the vibrant capital city of Argentina and one of the world’s global cities, is a modern metropolis overflowing with engaging cultures, flavourful cuisines, and exciting things to see and do. Famed for being the World’s Capital of Theater, with the largest number of active theatres in the world, this city boasts an eclectic mix of European architectural styles, a wide variety of cultures, and an abundance of attractions you won’t want to miss. You’ll find stunning street art throughout several vibrant barrios, a wonderful variety of cuisines from around the world available, and so much more. There’s a reason this city draws millions of tourists from around the world each year, and why so many of those tourists keep coming back. With deep-rooted traditions found hand-in-hand with cutting-edge modern culture, something that complements the upbeat atmosphere found throughout this city, Buenos Aires is somewhere truly special. One of the most diverse cities in the Americas, with an intriguing colonial history to uncover and a bright future ahead, Buenos Aires is certain to become an instant favourite among the highlights of any South American adventure.
Things to do in Buenos Aires:
Teatro Colón
Among the best opera houses in the world, Teatro Colón is a historic theatre venue in the heart of Buenos Aires, boasting stunning exterior architecture, impressive interior designs, and rooms boasting the best acoustics for operas and the second-best acoustics for music concerts in the world. To say seeing a show here is an incredible experience would be an understatement; it would be one of the best shows in the world. Although, if you don’t have time for that, the building itself is still worth taking the time to admire.
El Caminito
Among the most vibrant areas of Buenos Aires, El Caminito is touristy for all the right reasons and a must-visit area of Argentina’s capital. Found within La Boca, a historically working-class neighbourhood in the heart of the city, you’ll be met with brightly-coloured buildings, lively street performers, and fascinating art museums when you visit here. It’s thought of as something of a time capsule, showcasing the best of Buenos Aires in the early 20th century, and a fantastic place to spend some time immersing yourself in the incredible culture here.
San Telmo
Buenos Aires’ oldest neighbourhood, San Telmo, is overflowing with historic charm, authentic cuisine, and fascinating buildings and landmarks. From El Zanjón de Granados and Museo de la Historia del Traje to Casa Mínima, Museo Moderno, and more, culture vultures and history buffs will find themselves with an abundance of activities when spending any amount of time here. And, for everyone else, this neighbourhood is full of vibrant culture to immerse yourself in, with restaurants, bars, and more to explore.
Montevideo
DAY 2
18 Jan 2028
Time at Port: from 8 AM to 4 PM
Located on the north-eastern bank of the Rio de la Plata, Montevideo is the capital city of Uruguay and a modern metropolis with a difference. Boasting stunning European art deco-style architecture, a hangover from this region’s colonial past, Montevideo is home to an expansive beach promenade and a South American atmosphere to match. Here, you’ll find the Rambla, a riverfront avenue that’s one of the world’s longest continuous sidewalks – which just highlights how perfect Montevideo is if you’re looking to take a laid-back wander here. Beyond this, though, if you’re looking for a little more action, you’ll find a bustling marketplace in Mercado del Puerto, intriguing exhibitions in the Andes Museum and Museo El Juguetero (just two of the several incredible museums and galleries in Montevideo), and fantastic food everywhere you turn. With all the modern comforts of a capital city, but a relaxed atmosphere that lets you savour the little things, a visit to this metropolis is worth looking forward to.
Things to do in Montevideo:
Legislative Palace of Uruguay
A monumental example of neo-classical architecture in the heart of Montevideo, the Legislative Palace of Uruguay acts as the meeting place of the General Assembly of Uruguay, the seat of the legislative branch of the Uruguayan government, and a remarkable landmark to see when you visit. Built between 1904 and 1925, it was constructed to commemorate 100 years of Uruguayan independence.
Obelisk of Montevideo
Built in 1930 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first Constitution of Uruguay as a homage to the original members of the General Assembly, this three-sided structure stretches 40 metres up and is flanked by three bronze structures representing Law, Liberty, and Force. In 1983, it was the site of Rio de Libertad – the nation’s largest demonstration ever, demanding an end to the civil-military dictatorship in place at the time.
Palacio Salvo
Standing 95 metres tall, this stunning structure takes advantage of eclectic architectural designs to deliver one of the most remarkable buildings in Montevideo. Built with the intention of being a hotel in 1928, it’s now a mixture of private residences and office spaces – though tours of the building are available at select times during the day.

Port Stanley, Falkland Islands
DAY 6
22 Jan 2028
Time at Port: from 10 AM to 7 PM
Also known as Stanley, Port Stanley is the capital city of the Falkland Islands and a charming destination to visit during cruises through the South Atlantic Ocean and beyond. Home to roughly 70% of the Falkland Islands’ population, Port Stanley is the place to be if you’re looking to immerse yourself in this archipelago’s unique culture. Without an indigenous population, you’ll find that much of the culture and cuisine in Port Stanley is an amalgamation of British culture and cuisine, with influences from nearby nations, such as Argentina. So, Port Stanley is often described as feeling somewhat similar to a small English or Scottish town – a home away from home, of sorts. However, although exploring the quaint city centre is a fantastic way to spend your time, Port Stanley is also a great starting point for adventures further inland and along the coast. With the chance to enjoy guided nature walks, wildlife spotting, and experiences that invite you to explore this island’s tumultuous history, there’s something for everyone to enjoy here – whether you’re looking to sit and enjoy a freshly-poured pint in one of the local pubs, spot some penguins in their natural habitat, or admire the stunning landscapes found here.
Things to do in Port Stanley, Falkland Islands:
Falkland Islands Museum
Located in the historic dockyard of Port Stanley, the Falkland Islands Museum boasts a comprehensive collection of artefacts and historic items that explore the natural and cultural history of this archipelago. If you want to know more about the Falkland Islands, this is one of the best places in the world to spend some time. You’ll also find an interactive room that explores the stories of Falkland Islands residents during the Falklands War in 1982, highlighting the real impact of this conflict, as well as an area dedicated to the region’s maritime history.
Government House
Built in 1845, Government House is the home of the Falkland Islands’ governors and one of the most important landmarks in Port Stanley. Alongside being somewhere where Ernest Shackleton stayed during his famous Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition in the 1910s, and home to one of the world’s southernmost grape vines, Government House was also the site of a major battle during the 1982 invasion of the Falkland Islands, an event that kicked off the Falklands War, and where the surrender was ultimately issued.
Yorke Bay
Roughly four miles northeast of Port Stanley, Yorke Bay is a stunning destination to visit when spending some time in the Falkland Islands’ capital. Known internationally as a breeding ground for Magellanic penguins, a threatened species also found along the coast of Argentina and Chile, this is a fantastic place to see these incredible birds in their natural habitat. Interestingly, much of this area serves as an unplanned wildlife refuge, with Yorke Bay among several areas of coastline that were heavily mined during the Falklands War, making them unsafe for visitors. The island is free of landmines now, though, and you’ll be able to observe the wildlife and admire the stunning scenery of Yorke Bay from a safe distance.

Ushuaia
DAY 11
27 Jan 2028
Time at Port: from 7 AM to 3 PM
Nicknamed the “End of the World”, Ushuaia is a charming windswept city on the southernmost tip of South America and an important port of call for cruise adventures to Antarctica. In the heart of the Tierra del Fuego archipelago, this port is surrounded by some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world, boasting sensational sightseeing opportunities for everyone who travels here. From vibrant coastal forests and dramatic waterfalls to stunning glaciers and unique polar wildlife, Ushuaia really is somewhere where you’ll be able to bask in the sheer beauty of nature, and soak up some sensational panoramic views from the vantage points found here. This city, though, while being famous for being (arguably) the most southernmost city in the entire world, is also something of a gateway to Antarctica and the smaller islands that make up the Tierra del Fuego archipelago. So, despite being rather quaint in comparison to other Argentinian cities and South American holiday hotspots, what you’re met with in Ushuaia is just a taste of what’s to come – if you’re continuing onto Antarctica, anyway. That doesn’t mean you should be too eager to leave Ushuaia, though, as this port of call does offer a lot more than just breathtaking natural beauty. Ushuaia is also home to a unique collection of museums and some fantastic food; so, while the awe-inspiring natural beauty of the region is a major highlight, this is one destination that will prove to be just as memorable as everything else on your itinerary.
Things to do in Ushuaia:
Tierra del Fuego National Park
An expansive national park that protects nearly 70,000 hectares of land, the Tierra del Fuego National Park combines marine areas, forests, and mountains to create a truly fascinating place worth exploring if you have the time while visiting Ushuaia. Here, you’ll find everything from luscious woodland and tumbling waterfalls to dramatic mountains and serene lakes. Throughout, you’ll also find evidence of the Yámanas, the first inhabitants of these lands, which serves to remind everyone who spends some time here that this region has been inhabited for more than 10,000 years. With so much to see, this is easily the best place to visit if you’re looking to switch off and embrace the great outdoors.
Museo del Fin del Mundo
If you want to learn more about the city of Ushuaia, Museo del fin del Mundo is the perfect place to go. A living heritage museum that explores the history and culture of Ushuaia and the Tierra del Fuego archipelago, the End of the World Museum (which is its name in English) is home to numerous exhibitions that explore the native history of this region, the local fauna and flora, the traditions and customs of the people here, and even some of the shipwrecks that have happened here over the centuries. Found in parts of the National Bank building and Old Government House, these impressive buildings only serve to highlight the importance of the museum and its contents.
Museo de la Ciudad
Also known as Casa Pena, this former private residence has served as the City Museum in Ushuaia since 2009; with an interesting selection of informative exhibits and historic items, this museum offers visitors a fantastic insight into what ordinary life was like in this city throughout the 20th century – which is when it was originally occupied by the Pena family.

30 Jan 2028
Time at Port: from 11 AM to 6 PM
Puerto Montt, Chile, is a charming port city with a lot to offer everyone who visits – whether you’re looking for adventure ashore or a more leisurely experience. Home to some sensational cuisine, especially seafood, and surrounded by stunning scenery, this is the perfect place to casually immerse yourself in Chilean culture. Although, with this destination surrounded by forests and national parks, there’s almost more than enough opportunity to go exploring the wonderful wilderness. Staying in the city, though, you’ll have the chance to see the remarkable wood-built Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cathedral, the unique statues of Sentados Frente al Mar, and more.

San Antonio
DAY 16
01 Feb 2028
Time at Port: from 6 AM to 7 PM
A moderately-sized Chilean port city serving Santiago, the nation’s capital, San Antonio is a South American destination perfect for travellers who want to spend some time enjoying the outdoors. A stone’s throw from a stretch of stunning beaches in San Sebastian and surrounded by incredible hiking areas, there’s something for everyone to enjoy here – whether you’re someone who wants to lounge around on a beach in the sunshine, or take a trek to a nearby hilltop to marvel at the remarkable panoramic views on offer. Taking tours to Santiago, though, are the real highlight of this destination. The largest city in Chile and among the largest in the Americas, this urban centre is a fascinating place to explore. From impressive cultural landmarks like La Moneda Palace and San Cristobal Hill to the breathtaking views from atop Santa Lucia Hill and the remarkable artwork in the National Museum of Fine Arts, there are experiences everyone can enjoy in Santiago – not to mention the abundance of incredible restaurants and bars to check out. Spending your night onboard here, you’ll have even more time to immerse yourself in the Chilean capital and enjoy everything both Santiago and San Antonio have to offer.
Things to do in San Antonio:
La Moneda Palace
Once an impressive mint house during Chile’s colonial period, producing coins from 1814 to 1929, La Moneda Palace is the current seat of the president of the Republic of Chile and one of Santiago’s most famous landmarks. Occupying an entire block in the city’s Civic District, the neoclassical architectural style is influenced by Roman construction styles, affording the building a unique grandeur. It opens onto the Plaza de La Constitución, a neat city square that’s almost the same size as La Moneda Palace itself. The La Moneda Cultural Centre also sits just behind the palace, and you’ll find rotating art exhibitions, restaurants, and more within.
Sanctuary of the Immaculate Conception on San Cristóbal Hill
One of the principal places of worship for the Catholic Church of Chile, and somewhere that’s considered a symbol of the city of Santiago, the Sanctuary of the Immaculate Conception is a shrine made famous for its impressive statue of the Virgin Mary – symbolising the immaculate conception of Jesus Christ – that stands over 14 metres tall. Sitting atop San Cristóbal Hill, which means the statue stands over 850 metres above sea level, this sanctuary offers visitors incredible views of Santiago and the surrounding scenery.
Chilean National Museum of Fine Arts
The oldest fine arts museum in South America, the Chilean National Museum of Fine Arts in Santiago is one of the world’s major centres for Chilean and South American art; established in 1880 and currently housed in the Palace of the Fine Arts – which was built in 1910 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Chilean independence – this museum boasts a collection of over 5,000 artworks.
