Iona Reviews
View Cruise Dealswe were Forward on the ship and used the fwd lifts three of which were out of order, My wife is disabled and cant run for the lift , the level of disregard by idiots pressing the doors to close was disgusting, by both young and old , wheelchairs had no chance ,i am getting tired of the drop in standards ,a sign of the times no doubt. Staff were as usual superb and have to put up with a bunch of whining entitled people, food was excellent and we enjoyed Dean Richards as Freddy Mercury, Vinnie, Mckee, and the impressionist, and the comedian in clubhouse, they were all brilliant
Iona is a great ship great entertainment delicious food the band in the 710 club were absolutely brilliant they were Craig on piano Louis on drums Phillip on bass guitar and Connor on lead guitar the lifts weren't very good took a while to get in one other wise can't fault it
Nice ship good facilities very modern would suit young people especially meals good quality staff very obliging & friendly sailed on her a few times now value for money
Not enough entertainment on around bars at night, nothing on at all during sea days only in afternoon there was boring talks about art and beauty products etc, Nothing on at all around pools etc
Just returned from a two week cruise on P&O Iona from Southampton to the Canaries. This was our fourth cruise on Iona but the first time we'd had a an inside cabin. Initially it seemed small but there was enough storage space and it was perfectly comfortable. The cabin was on deck 4 which was a perfect location. The gangway at two ports was on deck 4, once on 3 and a couple of times in 6 so easy to get on an off without lifts off too many stairs to tackle! Also when the ship was swaying there was minimal movement, even though we were near the front of the ship. Many passengers said they select deck 4 for the location and ease to access restaurants and entertainment. The ports of call were all easy to walk to shops and bars and although the weather could have been better we did get some warm sunshine. Food was lovely, we regularly had breakfast in the restaurant and lunch in the Quays rather than going to Horizon but all the food was tasty. The shows and guest artists were all great and worth going to see. Drinks were more expensive than pub prices but not ridiculous. Pints varied from £5. 95-£6. 10 and a large wine from £8. 50.
Ship is lovely and clean and same goes for cabins. My only real dislike was the Horizon buffet as it was very crowded and not a relaxed area to enjoy a meal. Crew were mainly friendly and helpful and most of the entertainment was very good.
The destinations were good except fof the weather, it was cold in La Coruna, Tenerife was better and warmer. All in all the cruise was good. The food is always contentious, because it suits some people but not others. The menus never seems to change per cruise but I just wish it was hotter. The accommodation is always good. We were on deck 15 tucked in a little corner, it was so quiet apart from first thing in the morning when the cabin stewards were getting all the cleaning stuff out ready for the days cleaning.
Lovely ship with good facilities and comfortable cabins. The skydome over the pool is particularly good as you can still find somewhere to sit on sea days. The entertainment was excellent. There was a good choice of food if a little repetitive. The only negatives are that fruit juices are not available during the day, fresh fruit was minimal and very few vegetables in the buffet!
Great ship, spotless and nice decor. Super staff and lit's of choice of venues aboard.
Fantastic ship powered by gas clean no engine noise erc. The whole crew were very helpful The food in buffer and other restaurants very good, The sky dome and entertainment brilliant. Make sure you take reading material their library was abysmal.
