Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, La Fortaleza was built between the 16th and 20th centuries with the aim of protecting the city of San Juan. It has been a fortress, a prison and a residence, and is open for visitors to explore during the day.

In San Juan, there is a fort called Castillo San Cristóbal. The Spanish constructed it to defend San Juan against land-based assaults. Part of the San Juan National Historic Site, it's arguably the greatest fortification erected by the Spanish in the New World.

The writings of local poet Lady Lee Andrews are shown at this store, art gallery, and cafe. A lot of aspiring poets attend the regular open-mic sessions; this is something that makes it a unique place to visit during a trip to San Juan.

This cool cable car takes you all the way up from the bottom of the cruise terminal harbour area to Paradise Point for stunning views all the way up. At the top is a great restaurant and bar too to take in the sights in true paradise.

Originally called Skytsborg and constructed by Danish colonists for defence and a vantage point, this modern-day hotel also has entertaining guided tours to learn all about the history of Edward and his infamous band of marauding pirates.

A short drive away from the port, the Charlotte Amalie Overlook grants extraordinary views out towards the ocean. Although this isn’t within walking distance, the views that you get across the city is well worth the effort.

As well as a gorgeous beach, Palm Beach boasts an old Dutch Windmill ideal for a photo, a wonderful butterfly farm to be immersed in colour inside the jungle-like enclosure, and a bird sanctuary complete with observation tower for unrivalled views.

Take a trip up to the top of the observation tower for great views out over this wetlands nature reserve. Here, you’ll find up to eighty different species of migratory birds, from herons and pelicans to cormorants and falcons.

Spanning over 7,000 acres, this pictureque nature reserve was established in 2000. Boasting a diverse terrain that includes sandy beaches, limestone cliffs and volcanic hills, within it, you’ll find a variety of must-see sights, such as the Conchi Natural Pool.

Within easy reach of the capital lies the breathtaking Hato Caves. A popular tourist attraction on the island, the Hato Caves is known for its marine limestone walls. Accessible via several local tours, they have been accessible since the early 1990s.

Popular with families, the Curacao Sea Aquarium offers an array of exhibits, live shows and more. Home to dolphins, sharks, stingrays, sea lions and other marine creatures, the Sea Aquarium is a fun way to spend an afternoon on the island.

If you’re looking to relax and unwind during your time in Willemstad, head to Mambo Beach. Aligned with restaurants, beach bars, shops and more, this beach is a vibrant attraction perfect for those wanting to discover all that this charming city has to offer.

On the southern shore of Bonaire, lies a tiny lagoon called Lac lagoon. Featuring a bordering reef and around 100 acres of mangroves, as well as a tiny fishing boat port, this picturesque bay is a must visit whilst in Bonaire. Sea turtles also visit its seagrass beds, along with other tropical wildlife.

Situated in the heart of the city, Terramar Museum is a popular attraction which will take you through over 7,000 years of Caribbean history. A fascinating attraction, the exhibits throughout the museum consist of traditional artefacts, to interactive experiences and 3D reconstructions.

If you love animals, a visit to the Donkey Sanctuary is a must whilst in Bonaire. See these beautiful animals up close, and learn all about what it takes to care for them. Run by an animal organisation, there are over 400 rescued donkeys living at the sanctuary.

Swim with dolphins, sea lions and sharks, as well as taking part in feeding times and enjoying fun-filled shows, at this excellently-rated sea life centre just ten minutes by car from the Amber Cove cruise terminal.

Close by as you step off the ship, this cool water park area is free of charge for cruisers with plenty of pools, slides and water features to keep the whole family entertained all day. In addition, there’s a zipline you can use unlimited times for a set price!

About 20 minutes by taxi, this factory-cum-museum offers great tours showing how local rum is made. If you’re just popping in, it’s possible to walk through on your own, as well as checking out the gift shop with an extensive array of rums to taste and buy.

This museum holds exhibitions telling the story of the island from the historic Lucayan Culture up to the present day. A highlight has to be the Molasses Reef shipwreck from 1505, the oldest recorded shipwreck in the New World.

Enjoy a relaxing swim or snorkelling experience at the picturesque Pillory Beach. Aligned with picturesque resorts and casuarina trees, this glistening beach is a wonderful place to kick back and unwind during your day in Grand Turk.

Standing at an impressive 60 feet tall, Grand Turk Lighthouse overlooks the beautiful North Creek. Built by Alexander Gordon, a prominent British architect in 1852, this historic lighthouse has been a significant attraction since its construction in the 19th century.

This non-profit park area is the place to go for some tranquil downtime as you explore the serene waterfalls and pools that are home to brightly plumed flamingos. The gardens are also home to rescued wildlife such as other birds and reptiles as well as boasting some giant tree species.

Covering a 22-block area, this exciting part of downtown offers plenty to see and do from Garand Opera House, History Center, Art Museum and plenty of dining options and evening entertainment just a short distance from the cruise terminals.

A beautiful and historic house in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the Bonnet House is included on the American National Register of Historic Places. It was built by prominent artist Frederic Clay Bartlett and has picturesque architecture and a botanical garden.
