First time on any cruise for my family, Daughter and 2 Grandchildren.
I cannot fault Disney in any way, the shows, Characters, food and staff were all fantastic, the ship is beautiful and the food was amazing.
Downside for us was the amount of people on ship, everything was a queue, meeting characters was over an hour, finding a table to eat took sometime and when we got our food we didn’t really eat together due to someone having to sit at the table to reserve it, The children had a fantastic time, however they did get bored and frustrated when in the long queues. If you enjoy Cruising then definitely do the Disney Cruise, if like us you have never then you really need to be prepared, do your research and if you enjoy a holiday that is full on with your own itinerary every day then it’s for you,, unfortunately not for us, kids had a great time, experience was great but definitely far too busy .

First Disney cruise on Dream 21-24 August , we have previously cruised with Princess , RC, NCL and were interested to compare .
We found the dream very easy to navigate and felt smaller than our last cruise which was sky princess , lots of characters around wherever you turn your head there is a line to meet your faves ! The food in the Buffett was not impressive in comparison to other cruises we been on so felt underwhelmed . . expected so much more ! The evening dining was very good, Disney knows how to cook a good beef wow ! The shows very good all Disney based :beauty and the beast was gold . The pools are so small and shallow so forget swimming , the best was aqua duck we cued for 20 min to get on but that was fun and worth it ! Our 9 year old enjoyed the kids club and that beats other cruise lines !!! we didn’t like that staff on Disney are asking for tips politely but pushy after they already taken a 18% tip on your drinks . . I’m sorry but thought was rude and that was a big negative for us , we never felt such pressure on any other cruise lines before , the free coffee on the ship is the worst we ever had diluted so much we had no choice but to buy it and even that was watered down , pretty decorated but missed the caffeine in it …and no coffee facilities in the room and this was the first time we could not make a drink in the cabin ! How can a luxury company not offer basic kettle to make a drink in your room ? The positive is the free room service that works well , not a large variety but ordered bfast as the Buffett was too busy , it came at time requested ! Conclusion for food : best beef & Mickey ice cream and tasty beef burgers! Needs improving in buffet options and seating area.
Entertainment : good and the characters are fun to be around . Cinderella was lovely and Captain Hook was fun !
Kids Club : the best !
Staff : in buffet area they seem sad and not bothered in their job , those in dining area are the opposite : smily and friendly
Staff are not bothered to encourage people to wash their hands when entering buffet it lacks attention to detail that matter …
Balcony cabin : nice set up enjoyed having a bath tub , but the room was tired and smelly. .
Pools: limited choice and shallow , not great
Shopping : only Disney related shops , was surprised as no beauty/ cosmetics shops on board … lacking !
No free popcorn like you get on princess in the evenings when you watch a film . . everything costs here when is already so costly .
Disney cruise is lovely for character meet ups but it’s not value for money , we feel we get a lot more with other cruise lines at a lower price ! We already booked to go on princess again next year, cannot wait !

Absolutely amazing trip.
Food, cabin and service is pretty faultless.
The shows are off the charts. Characters everywhere! Public areas are spotless and beautiful.
Kids club was the most amazing place my son (7) has ever been. He kept asking to go - the opposite of any other holiday. The pools get busy but are well managed. The aquaduck never had a queue longer than 20 minutes and was loads of fun. We rode it loads on 2 separate days.
We are home and exhausted but had THE BEST weekend ever. It is pretty full on but worth every penny. All of the magic but feels convenient and high end and little queuing. Longest queues are for characters- about 20 minutes in busy times but we bumped in to a few without queues which was enough for us.
3 nights was enough as there’s so much happening all the time it’s almost overwhelming, for adults and little ones!
The app is really clever on board and there is also a tv channel that shows you everything happening that day in your cabin.
So smooth embarkation and disembarkation - make sure you don’t keep your luggage last morning.
Before you go, be sure you know about -
Door magnets
Pirate night
The app
Taking a drinks bottle
It’s chilly in the boat due to air con - especially the theatre. Take layers!
