Our cruise was OK but it had no wow factor, annd no feeling of being in the Caribbeanand although the ship is a perfect size it certainly is showing its age.
Although there is a very nice card room on Deck 8 and also certain games were able to be played in the dining room in the dining room, there were guests who were wanting to play bridge, but because a time slot was not printed on the Princess Patter it was impossible to get 4 people to liaise, and it does need a host, so disappointing. .

Our first cruise with Princess and it did not disappoint. The ship is beautiful and has a lovely atmosphere. The crew to passenger ratio was excellent and meant we never had to queue/wait for anything. All the staff were 1st class and nothing was too much trouble. The food on the whole was also excellent especially Sabatini’s & Crown Grill. Special mentions to Henry & Paul at Crooners, Ysrael in Sabatini’s and our cabin attendant Gede

A journey to the remarkable city of Chengdu wouldn’t quite be complete without a visit to the vital Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding; so, that’s where you’re going to be spending most of your day – and you’re in for a truly special experience. Home to over 200 giant pandas (a vulnerable species heavily reliant on conservation efforts for its survival), a small number of red pandas, and a small selection of other endangered species endemic to China, this government-funded non-profit conservation centre plays an important role in preserving giant pandas as a species. While you’re here, you’ll have the chance to learn more about the important work the Chengdu Research Base is doing, to observe these magical mammals in enclosures that near-mirror their natural habitat, and to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding
A unique government-funded non-profit breeding and research institution, the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding was founded in 1987 with the express goal of improving the giant panda population in China and becoming a world-class research facility, conservation centre, and international education destination; starting with just six giant pandas, all of which were rescued from the wild, the Chengdu Research Base is now home to over 200 giant pandas.
Giant Panda
A truly remarkable animal considered ‘vulnerable’ by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and largely reliant on the conservation efforts of organisations like the Chengdu Research Base for its survival, these black-and-white bears are often seen as a national symbol of China – to which they are endemic.
Red Panda
Small mammals considered endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, red pandas are actually more closely related to raccoons and skunks than they are the giant panda; however, they also primarily feed on bamboo shoots and leaves, and they’re known for their reddish-brown fur, black bellies, and white muzzle.
