Celestyal Journey Reviews
View Cruise DealsGood value for money. Staff were wonderful. Only downside was that they took away the tea making facilities and the water from the cafe after lunch
Overall enjoyed the cruise. Best bit was having a balcony cabin meant we could take our meals in the smaller quieter restaurant - the buffet was horrnedous. It was too small, limited choice and many on board whose culture did not include queueing. Same issue at the lifts. Theatre entertainment group were outstanding - Cuba singers/dancers every night a different show. First night was ABBA and that I admit was rather awful, but after that they were brilliant each night so dont know what went wrong there. Other entertainment not so good - the keyboard and bongo drum dua were terrible - not playing in time with the other. Headache inducing stuff - had to pass by as quickly as possible. Ships public areas were nice but cabins a bit tired, though quite large, esp the balcony, and loads of storage. Not a lot going on on the ship, but it was port intensive. Ships trips rather chaotically organised, thus our tour very late back in Abu Dhabi. Overall - good.
The ship interiors bars restaurants all high standard. Our junior suite was excellent, The drinks package service at buffet lunch very poor and verged on hostile. No smiles at all. Food quality good but not exceptional. Service was good from very smartly dressed staff. Entertainment patchy sometimes ok but often very poor, No ship band for productions was missed as was no guest performers. Cruise director not great.
Loved the cruise. Impossible to fault the extremely professional and friendly staff. Fantastic evening entertainment. Great food. Our cabin (4206) had a very uneven floor outside the bathroom - bad enough for most people but really dangerous to people with balance/mobility issues. Only minor complaint was the lack of tea and coffee making facilities outside of dining hours.
Nice cruise with pleasant attentive staff. The plus points were many. The shows in the main show lounge were excellent. Our balcony suite was spacious, clean and comfortable. We had use of the smoked olive restaurant for all meals which was very good. The ports of call were good but some had a degree of closure due to the observance of the Holy month of Ramadan. I think that we should have been made aware of these limitations at the time of booking the holiday. On the negative side there was a high number of very rude fellow passengers. They appeared to be just one of the many nationalities catered for. Everyone was aware of their presence. We did have an issue with the same people saving multiple seats at show time, but we managed to get that resolved. Overall we had a good time.
Thoroughly enjoyed our cruise, lovely small ship, good food and very friendly and helpful staff.
Ship and service excellent Let down by excursions being rushed and not value for money
We had a great holiday, the management and staff were always helpful and courteous. The timings of mealtimes and all programmes were on time, there was always an abundance of staff on hand to help and support. We will definitely cruise again with Celestyal. Thank you
Everything was spot on except for the cost of WiFi. It should just be added to the cost of the cruise then free to use.
We went on two bus excursions (Dhabi and Abi Dhabi) and there was more time spent standing and walking than on the bus. This needs to be mentioned in the excursion details. The overall package was brilliant, ideal hotel in Doha, wonderful cruise. Could not fault the staff and crew on the ship.
